I belonged to a steampunk group that wanted to do a kite flying thing almost 2 decades ago and this is what we were told when we tried to plan it. It does have something to do with the airport. We found something else to do. This guy is unhinged.

I agree with the park they are a danger to others in the park. I was struck in the head by a crashing kite in a park once. luckily I was wearing a helmet as I just came off the water from windsurfing injured my neck it hit me hard.

I love when people make things political like this. As if "their" party makes no stupid laws. Folks need to pull their heads out of their ass. It's all one big machine no matter what party you affiliate with. The problem is stupid people are pitted against each other because they are not smart enough to see the forest through the trees. "I have nothing educated to say so I'll say the same thing over and over again, it's the Dems/repubs fault!" You're all twats... Lmao.

They need to open that state park to more activities than just a playground and a boat harbor. It’s an open field with nothing there in that area for a safe drop zone. People get hurt every day with fish hooks, bikes, falling off the jungle gym while no one wants the risk of injuries people still need recreation and hobbies. Flying kites seems so easy to enjoy watching, they brightens up the Buffalo sky line, adds a cheerfulness to the bright blue skies and there is a sky full of applied technology happening with lift & loft for educational purposes. They treated him like he was tipping trash cans, or graffitiing the buildings by surrounding him with five state park police. Can’t they find better usage of their manpower and how safe is that Park if they need five officials to surround a kite man?
At roughly 75 k per year or $375,000 in total not including cars and gear at another $350,000 let’s not even think about nefarious actions happening while they are enjoying the kites they probably couldn’t even believe they had to tell him he couldn’t fly.
NY needs hobbies with applied skills of math and science and a state park with a wide open field seems like a great place.
Let him fly with his friends!
Bad Boy whatcha gonna do when sheriff John Brown come for you?

It's ridiculous how they're applying absurd rules in the state parks. Now you need a permit to fly kites, yet there are unlicensed vendors selling food without any permits, and the park rangers do nothing about it. It seems only Americans need permits and licenses for such activities.
I'm tired of all these stupid laws and policies added to the state parks in Buffalo, New York. Now they even close the parks to prevent you from going fishing, flying kites, or enjoying the sunset with your family. I used to go night sky watching with my telescope with my family and friends, but now I have to look for another park because of their nonsensical policies. They are just trying to make money from anything. Something needs to be done because these laws are ridiculous and make no sense. How can you stop someone from flying kites, an activity that people can enjoy from miles away? You guys are being absurd.
