I honestly think Iverson could be the quickest and fastest player in NBA history. I mean he was ALL OVER the court in a blink of an eye and an unbelievable scorer at 5'11. Not to mention all the steals. 4.2 40yd dash
James Dunn not wrong, watch any video that compares Iverson to the greats all the professional sports analysts say that You prob another white kid that try’s to say he was taller and that’s why he was good smh
I agree with you on the last part, he could have worked harder on his game and he rarely passed unless he got jammed up, but this guy did incredible things with that one move. He was so fast that once you decided to commit to a direction he would simply just go the other way. At "6 feet" averaging 26 and 6 per game and racking up over 24,000 points while shooting over 40% is pretty damn amazing.
He seems like such a humble guy in the way that he was so focused on playing well rather than inflating his ego. You can see it in his face when he makes an incredible shot but just keeps his game face like he's focused on the coming moments of play. Sometimes he would get really pumped, too, but it usually didn't look like a "look at me" showboating display; he looks genuinely thrilled with what just happened!
Great video.. I hate that the media outlets considers a "highlight" to be whenever a shot is made. I never seen some of these crossovers bc Iverson didnt finish at the end of most of them. Does that mean they aren't highlights? If Iverson would have never made the basket on MJ at the end of that crossover would that clip had been buried too? Great archive! thanks for editing this all together!! Also does anyone else notice that the refs barely called foul when Iverson drove the lane?? Im thinking they hated his persona at the time so they didn't care to call fouls in OBVIOUS situation.. Ok im done...
Alot of defenders did especially newer players because most of them grew up watching his move so much. Also defenses as a whole started to play Iverson to a side as opposed to straight up anyway because he was so quick. That and the carry whistle led to him sealing the move most of the time, though he did break it out every once in a while (toned down version of course)
thank you for showing plays that he didn't score on, because you're smart enough to realize that this is a crossover highlight, not just scoring. thank you.
NBA Pro Scouts are pretty good. He could go left fine, he just preferred to do his type of crossover left to right. Grant Hill had a great crossover and his scouting report was right to left.
If you grew up in that Era you know and saw that most of his misses "at the rim" he was fouled they were allowed to be more physical then plus he was barely 165lbs.
To all those talking about the missed lay-ups, that's simply a function of editing, and Iverson being so early in his career in the majority of this clip. Someone could just as easily make a clip of Jordan in his first 6-7 years missing shots, but pressuring defenses at the same time. I think the OP was trying to show that even extremely early on in his career, Iverson could penetrate NBA defenses at will. That's what I take from the video. Feel free to debate / disagree if you like.
+alejandrothefader he also could not crossover and run right past everyone.. they had to respect that.. which is why he had the most vicious crossover move..
I don't know about 40 ppg but it would have been crazy to see him play with a bigger body and the same speed, quickness and relentless attitude he had. He also played most of his prime before the big rule changes in 2004-05 season. He had most of his injuries before that time. Players before would just be really physical with him to slow him down.
wow props to you for using highlights where he doesn't make the basket. those are some of his best.... and haha john stockton had a tough time guarding him
I dont know why people think A.I only has the crossover and some houdini layups. This guy can shoot too... not too evident in this video but he can hit the J really well.
He makes most of it. You don't really expect a player who crosses over defenders every time to make all of his shots. No player has ever averaged 100% FG in a season.
Nobody, I mean ABSOLUTELY NOBODY, could stop Ai3. He is the best little man to ever play the game. Best crossover of course. One of if not the most exciting player to play the game. And he was fearless! Stockton couldnt stop him. Nash couldnt stop him. Kidd couldnt stop him. In all respect, Jordan couldnt even stop him! Ai is Top3 best to EVER do it. All the facts are there. He worked with less. And he was underrated by his height and just murdered opponents. and ankles. There'll never be another like him to ever touch the court again. Not CP3. Not Westbrook. Not Rondo. Nobody! He was like Picasso with the ball. Str8 Art ! Ai3 The GOAT
Laughable that Stockton was once considered a defensive guard. I guarantee you he couldn’t guard me either. Imagine AI adding a stepback counter to that move (as I did)🤦🏽♂️.....would literally send Stockton to hospital without his ankles😂
finally a logical reply. Obviously your right he was a great player. Im just saying as a mostly defensive player myself to reduce the chance of the inevitable i would guard him stronger left because he would be less likely to make the shot after. But at least three guys practically leaped off the screen when he faked left,
for someone to stand 5'10 (because he was not 6'0) to come in the league with the speed and quickness he had and unleashing his crossover that was unstoppable A.I have to go down as one of the best ever.I love this video because it show you how deadly his crossover was and it show young players what to do and what not to do when using the crossover.my mom use to say"as long as the sun rise in east and set in the west;Iverson crossover will never be stopped"and she was right
If you look at it, his crossover is always feint left to go right. As a defender, I would prefer him to go left and get help. The moment you try to cover what you think is him going left, say bye, bye to your ankles.
i was going to say the same thing. i have been watching many of his crossover move, and i don't see him goes from right to left, is always left to right. But we were to really guard him, we could get fooled as well lol
We saw alot of missed close range shots but he has still scored almost 25,000 points at the highest level. Plus He played hurt all time. Unlike alot of today's players.
The crossover makes you play honest defense. Allen uses "the crossover" to decide where he wants to go and he wants to go right because nobody is going to stop him anyway. The crossover is like no-touch zone the offensive player can hide and plan his next move keeping his defender in air. If you cheat to side and try to force him or ... actually reach for that "hot fire" you end up splattered on the pavement. Allen is literally holding you in the air- ask David Wesley.
His crossovers were grat but did no-one ever realise he went right to his dominant hand about 89% of the time. And when he goes left he generally only makes it when he's close or he passes out
1. Iverson off the dribble... and he misses. 2. Iverson breaks his ankles... and loses the ball. 3. Iverson. Beautiful crossover... and his teammate can't handle the pass.
Ben Jones i see, thanks. Haha. Well, yeah, I think it was because of him that NBA became more strict on the carry violation. But I think he's the only player who got the most out of it since carrying wasn't really a big violation back then.
Clarke that is blastphomy because that crossover gets set up by either a hesitation move which is unpredictable or maybe he drove left the play before. Even if he didnt do either of those he is so fast that u need to.try to stand in front of him
Despite being on this list for supposedly getting his ankles broken, Ricky Moore was the only man on this entire list who could guard Allen Iverson. Moore was just as quick as AI, maybe even quicker. You should watch AI try to put the crossover on him on the final play of the Big East Tournament in 1996, and watch as Ricky Moore forces him into a fade away airball. Even AI said that Ricky Moore was the only man who was quick enough to guard him.
Fact is he was so quick with that move wssnt need to other things if you can beat your defender everytime wit one move thats all it takes most pgs can t do dat that have to set up
He had a mean ass step back ask Coach Lue lol and a spin..you gotta realize they weren't allowed to bring that streetball handle in the league back then
If you would notice. His crossover is always a fake to the left and push hard to the right with his dominant hand. It is quick no doubt, but I'm sure if people paid attention they would try and hold a hand low down there lol. Deadly crosses
i think this is one of the the best basketball players who literally changed the game. Crossovers. Headbands. Sleeves. Fingerbands. BRAIDS. He literally made it cool to do everything HE did. I wish Iverson won a championship. He definetely would've been considered to be better than Kobe, Magic, shit maybe even Jordan...(maybe lol)
I honestly think Iverson could be the quickest and fastest player in NBA history. I mean he was ALL OVER the court in a blink of an eye and an unbelievable scorer at 5'11. Not to mention all the steals. 4.2 40yd dash
He was actually between 6'0-6'1
James Dunn no he wasn’t. He was listed at 6 feet but was visibly shorter then 6ft players
@@Baller4Life1 wrong
James Dunn not wrong, watch any video that compares Iverson to the greats all the professional sports analysts say that
You prob another white kid that try’s to say he was taller and that’s why he was good smh
6’0 with shoes, 5”11 without. Same as me. I stood next to him and we were the same.
ai literally crossed up the whole bulls team from 96 to 98 smh
On multiple occasions, he also outscored Jordan most of the time
AI went off on the Bulls like a young 80s Jordan
I agree with you on the last part, he could have worked harder on his game and he rarely passed unless he got jammed up, but this guy did incredible things with that one move. i agree, thanks for including misses so that we're able to see stuff we haven't seen before

4:42 what a beautiful movement...like all of these.
Edit: 16:25 also 1 of my fave... Nice mix, thx for share!✌🏻🏀🙏🏾
NBA Pro Scouts are pretty good. He could go left fine, he just preferred to do his type of crossover left to right. Grant Hill had a great crossover and his scouting report was right to left.
Since he is 6'0. and his shooting, and dribbling ability is crazy. He plays a combo guard.
22:36 you hear Phil Jackson says "Michael!"
He says “Michael! Get up on him”. After the play Mike prob like “yeah thanks for that Phil”
If you grew up in that Era you know and saw that most of his misses "at the rim" he was fouled they were allowed to be more physical then plus he was barely 165lbs.
He goes left to right every time and they still can't stop him
My ankles hurt just by watching this.

I like how his crossovers aren't super fancy yet they are super effective i think it has a lot to do with how fast he is
Yea and 90% of them lead to him going back to the right and yet they still can't stop it
alejandrothefader Tim Hardaway was similar
+alejandrothefader he also could not crossover and run right past everyone.. they had to respect that.. which is why he had the most vicious crossover move..
Crazy athlete for sure. Super quick and powerful.
Nice vid my man but you forgot one person... Tyron Lue!!!
Two things which might answer one another....he missed a lot of lay ups...but at the same time he would've lived on the foul line if he played now.
i miss you my buddy. forever your legacy, im from chiapas mexico.....
19:10 Wait... Captain Anderson from Mass Effect? I didn't know you loved basketball!
this the only AI vid where i seen all aspects of his crossover from the rewards and the punishments. good job mang...
I don't know about 40 ppg but it would have been crazy to see him play with a bigger body and the same speed, quickness and relentless attitude he had. Best and king of the crossover
Nazi refs calling carry on the greatest move of all time
For real
I dont know why people think A.I only has the crossover and some houdini layups. This guy can shoot too... not too evident in this video but he can hit the J really well.
The prettiest Crossover I've evah seen
Commentators roasting Fisher between 18:10 and 18:55 😂😂
He Was Known For His Mid Range Jimmy As Well As His Crossover
10:59 self-pass while in midair is sweet!!
My favourite player of all time! #3 you are a beast
He makes most of it. You don't really expect a player who crosses over defenders every time to make all of his shots. No player has ever averaged 100% FG in a season.

where did he go? what happend? there he is and i just got crossed :*(
really nice this video ! Iverson is always going to the right , but daaaamn fast and effective!!
coach says"now who is gonna guard Iverson?"
* Whole team looks down*
AI wit the Concords
so much great footage, a lot of stuff that isn't so common.
Laughable that Stockton was once considered a defensive guard. I guarantee you he couldn’t guard me either. Imagine AI adding a stepback counter to that move (as I did)🤦🏽♂️.....would literally send Stockton to hospital without his ankles😂
good point i notice but he do got skills in his left u can notice in his double crossover
2:13 this play here was so badass
finally a logical reply. Obviously your right he was a great player. I have to create 100 more accounts to just 'like' this video ! great vid bro!
Legend has it Fisher is still on that court, looking for Iverson.
AI was one of the most exciting players to watch. But if you watch film on him, he mostly crosses over only to his right.
Awesome video bro :D subbed
Gotta give credit to Dean Berry if it wasnt for him AI wouldnt discover this move
Great player lil man with a lot of heart
i was going to say the same thing. i have been watching many of his crossover move, and i don't see him goes from right to left, is always left to right. But we were to really guard him, we could get fooled as well lol
The majority of these crossovers end up with him missing the shot...
but the video is talking about his crossover, not his shot
About 70% are either a finish, foul, or assist.
We saw alot of missed close range shots but he has still scored almost 25,000 points at the highest level. Plus He played hurt all time. Unlike alot of today's players.
you should do a part 2 allen iverson top 10 victims to the crossover
18:10 waz sick lolz
great video
Amazing play @17:46.
great video, very nice
Looking at this makes me think how frustrating it must be when a little man like AI3 takes you down with the exact same move every time.
+Kevin Schayes hell yea
Allen Iverson, only dude to make The Greats feel like regular players
The crossover makes you play honest defense. Allen uses "the crossover" to decide where he wants to go and he wants to go right because nobody is going to stop him anyway. The crossover is like no-touch zone the offensive player can hide and plan his next move keeping his defender in air.
If you cheat to side and try to force him or ... actually reach for that "hot fire" you end up splattered on the pavement. Allen is literally holding you in the air- ask David Wesley.
Great to see Iverson vs Marbury when they were still developing their games in the NBA.
Now they're good enough to play in the CBA.
His crossovers were grat but did no-one ever realise he went right to his dominant hand about 89% of the time. And when he goes left he generally only makes it when he's close or he passes out
Just... Awesome!
Can you make those lay-ups through all that traffic?
1. Iverson off the dribble... and he misses.
2. Iverson breaks his ankles... and loses the ball.
3. Iverson. Beautiful crossover... and his teammate can't handle the pass.
he is fouled nearly at every postion
You just watched why Chicago was one of the best defense teams ever. GREAT HELP DEFENSE.
rofl @ Thunder coach Scotty Brooks humiliation @ 12:23... That dribble!!! XD
@10:03, what was AI's violation on that part? I can't really hear the commentator o.o
KhayRuu Tan palming violation aka carryingEven though its a wicked crossover ,and I have much respect for Iverson, most of his crossovers are carries.
Ben Jones i see, thanks. Haha. Well, yeah, I think it was because of him that NBA became more strict on the carry violation. But I think he's the only player who got the most out of it since carrying wasn't really a big violation back then.
Iverson will go down in history as one of the quickest basketball players ever.
No one can talk shit to AI. He crossed MJ. Case closed
As a Rookie!!!!!
Clarke that is blastphomy because that crossover gets set up by either a hesitation move which is unpredictable or maybe he drove left the play before. Even if he didnt do either of those he is so fast that u need to.try to stand in front of him
Derek Fisher tried to leave the court on that crossover. He was like "SUB"
They should've added his step back crossovers like the one on Tyron Lue, I know there were some more while he was on Denver too.
" LOOKADAT FIRST STEP! Little shake! Little bake! LOOKADAT FIRST STEP! "
This guy scares the hell out of me.
he was playing in concords at Georgetown
It doesnt matter that he kept doing the same crossover its the fact that he was so fast at it
Despite being on this list for supposedly getting his ankles broken, Ricky Moore was the only man on this entire list who could guard Allen Iverson.
It looks like he only had the 1 crossover move though. Fake left, cross right, with the left hand.
+PrecisionWrittens yup that was his move. it worked for him too ill give him that
Fact is he was so quick with that move wssnt need to other things if you can beat your defender everytime wit one move thats all it takes most pgs can t do dat that have to set up
He had a mean ass step back ask Coach Lue lol and a spin..you gotta realize they weren't allowed to bring that streetball handle in the league back then
Besides Magic, one of the best PG's the game has seen
Great Video :D Great Job :D Great Crossover :D
someone in the crowd "Watch out John"
@ 4:09 hahaha
beasty crossovers, but seems to have trouble hitting open layups after them
have you seen LJ?? he is quick as hell xd
He had Scott Brooks of the Knicks almost off the tv screen.
but thats the thing, if he prefers to go left to right crossovers then just sit on his right and it'll be harder for him to create that space
Thanks, and I just wanted to prove a point.
Iverson is great, so great... Now that I watch this video in perspective, I understad clearly the concept: "pass the ball"... Jajajajajaja... So cool
If you would notice. His crossover is always a fake to the left and push hard to the right with his dominant hand. It is quick no doubt, but I'm sure if people paid attention they would try and hold a hand low down there lol. Deadly crosses
Iverson is a 6 footer who's scored 50 points more than once, 7 3's in a game when he scored 52. He's jumper is just fine.
i like this crossover i like ai all highlights i watched
i think this is one of the the best basketball players who literally changed the game. Crossovers. Headbands. Sleeves. Fingerbands. BRAIDS. He literally made it cool to do everything HE did. I wish Iverson won a championship. He definetely would've been considered to be better than Kobe, Magic, shit maybe even Jordan...(maybe lol)
I least Fisher can say I didn't get my legs dislocated by AI omg Fisher
WHAT A GREAT FIRST STEP
this a great video thanks beatsbearbattlestar
and even if the already know where ...is still impossible to guard
Even a twenty minute video of Iverson seemed so quick!! Guy probably didn't even need to practice.
fundamentals in the NBA, if you're in the this league you should probably be able to make those layups, if contested, dish it off
You have an awesome username.
i just noticed that all iverson's crossovers are from left to right.
was this taped on a vcr?
