For the first time in its 140-year history, Texas A&M University's Corps of Cadets is led by a woman. Meet 21-year-old Corps Commander Alyssa Michalke.
Spent four years in the Aggie Corps of Cadets and then eight years in the US Army. Cadet Colonel of the Corps Michalke is obviously an extremely capable cadet and the military will be weaker for her not becoming an officer at graduation (the patch on her left shoulder means she does not hold a military contract for service). She appears far more qualified to lead cadets and soldiers than so many others I have seen. If I were with ISIS and saw her on a radio with a set of binoculars trained on me, I would be saying my prayers as something nasty, made of steel, is about to arrive on my grid coordinate. Wow. She didn't play the gender card non-stop at all. For women who actually want to be leaders, the correct answer is to never discuss the topic of gender. You just don't talk about it. It degrades you as a leader to entertain any discussion beyond your professional responsibilities.
Exactly, i see a commander and she thinks i inharently disregard my admiration because shes a woman but i do not. Seems self contious and weak to be constantly worried about wht others think of you. THAT makes me see her as less of a commander, has nothing to do with her gender
