  • Hello everyone, my name is Duong.
    I am 32 years old.
I live in a poor mountainous area of Vietnam.
From a young age, I had to work hard to help my parents.
Difficult life is always around, I work and learn everything from my grandparents and the old people in the village.
    Gradually, I mastered the skills.
5 years ago, I decided to live the challenge.
Determined to learn about the primitive way of life, I chose to live in the wilderness, alone.
Where there's no technology and forcing yourself to pass, it feels great!
How about you? Your life is definitely different from mine.
    Have fun watching the video!

You are adding water to their food from a flowing source. You should consider boiling the water you are adding to their food to ensure that the water itself is free of bacteria. At least until they are all healthy again. Also, consider reinforcing your fence around the yard with mud or cement so the pigs can't escape. Allowing them to roam will provide them with vital exercise, and will decrease the amount of time they are together, reducing the risk of infection spreading.

I agree about the chickens….keep the hens in a wire pen let the rooster have free reign remove the pig pen move to goats….hides, cheese, milk and all you have to do is maintain the enclosure around the farm so they don’t wander too far. As for rodents that ones easy we have feral farm cats that keep them under control…nab a kitten or two raise them but don’t feed them too much so they will hunt…if you can nab a few dead rodents use their remains as toys don’t use feathers unless you want cats to eat chicks. Excess fish remains can be amazing cat reward as well and you won’t have to dispose of them just place them in small bowl. Be sure to keep water indoors for cats next to food bowl so they hang around your house and your problem will be greatly reduced….as for bugs on your crops…..find rooting plants any kind that exude white milk in roots and have flowers, crush roots in water and sprinkle on plants…..be sure to wash before eating those plants! Don’t use too much root in water you want it to be like coconut water color. Hope this old Ojibwa helped…boojou

Duong I also thought a suggestion. If you had a large container and filled it with the green manure plants and water, as the plants rot they turn the water into a liquid fertiliser that you can easily spread on your crops. It’s very good for tomatoes and fruit when the fruit is growing on the plants.

The pigs need something to cover from mosquitos stung. The mosquitos can transfer the diseace. I dont now how it is in your country, but here in mid europa (Germany). we give our pigso cover with mud. So a mud pond would be helpfull or acces to the riverside.

Wild birds can carry the germs with them as they move about from place to place. So while you are isolated from other pigs, if a wild bird comes in contact with your pigs, or even your chickens, and was in contact with a sick pig it can cause an outbreak. The birds and chickens wont get sick, but it will still get the pigs sick.

Sorry to hear of your pigs sickness. I read about this disease when you mentioned it and from what I found there is NO CURE yet for this. What a shame, you both put in a lot of work with them. Your fish and chicken populations are getting huge. Will you try pigs again? Could you get some goats? they would weed your place and the milk is very healthy. Thank you for sharing.

  • @theotjeerd
    @theotjeerd 4 місяці тому

Dung, the pigs are on a wooden floor that’s open for draft. First of all, it is sad. Pigs want to be able to dig around some muddy ground by there nature. But it also has a purpose they do. When pigs piddle around in muddy ground, they wear off parasites, bacteria and it prevents virusses.
Also (as pigs a very warmblooded animals) they like to cool down in the mud.
A drafty shed isn’t good and a wooden half open beam-floor is far from ideal.
Good luck mate! Happy pigs 🐷 will bring it to you too😉

At first I thought the sink was a waste of time with all the running water you already had on the farm but it has grown on me more over time as being useful to you.

  • @wakeupamerica2971
    @wakeupamerica2971 6 місяців тому

Someone else said this but the running water you're adding to their food may be where the illness came from. Maybe boil water before adding it to their food. Also, is there a way to sanitize your water pipes? They have been flowing water a long time open to the elements. Could there be some pathogens in there also?
Hope this helps. Love your work. Thanks for sharing your journey.

That’s right, sugar cane requires a tropical climate for optimal growth. In mainland France, the climate is generally too cold for growing sugar cane. However, sugar cane is grown in some French overseas regions, such as Guadeloupe and Martinique, where the climate is warmer and more humid. In mainland France, other crops, such as wheat, corn and rapeseed, are more common due to their adaptation to more temperate climates.

I'm sorry to hear that all the piglets were lost. I had hoped that you would be able to breed one of the piglets when they got older to replace the lost mama pig.
Those fallen peppers you couldn't harvest should be able to be safely fed to your chickens. Chickens can't taste spice, so they will enjoy the flavor. Your tying up of chilis is very good-looking. It's like everything else you give your focus to, its beautiful.

Primeira receita: pegue 6 pimentas, retire as sementes e as pontas, pique bem picadinhas.

I am very happy to see you harvest so many chilli peppers!!! That is a lovely, big harvest and will last you a while! I am also happy to see you are hanging the peppers to dry. This will let you store the peppers for a very long time and the harvest is useful for many months to come.
I hope that you keep hanging your chilli peppers, corn and many other foods out to dry. This is how food used to be stored for long periods of time, so this is perfect!
I am also very excited to see you planting sugar canes! I can't wait to see you have a huge harvest, hopefully you will make some sugar to use in the future!!! It would be lovely to see you grow and harvest many herbs to use in your cooking, maybe even mushrooms? Having lots of dry ingredients to use in your cooking is so beautiful, it makes your life so much better.
I hope that you will use sugar cane to make sugar. Make enough sugar to last you many months and many meals!

Your chili peppers are gorgeous! Good crop.
Once again, please give the pigs fresh water. They need it as much as you. They will be healthier if they have fresh water to drink everyday. Also, let them run around and wallow in the mud. Mud protects their skin and keeps harmful insects like ticks and mosquitoes from biting them too much. The bugs get trapped in the mud then fall off as the mud dries. The pigs do this naturally. It's the natural way to protect from diseases that mosquitoes, ticks, and flies carry.

Bendiciones

Have you tried asking a pig farmer about the illness and ways to stop or cure it?

Have you tried adding some more protein to your pigs diet? You need to build their immune system strong, and eggs rich with protein and also omega 3 would be a good introduction. I mentioned Black soldier flies to you earlier. They are rich in protein and omega 3. Also Vitamin D3 and K2 (K2 helps body to absorb vitamin D efficiently. K2 you get in dairy products and some leafy greens) is good for the immune system. Also fermenting the food, as I think you are doing, is a good idea for health.
