There is no need to disassemble the whole thing, you can just unlatch the metal band that keeps the battery in place

That was a disaster for me. Very complicated method having to reassemble the parts. My husband showed me that all one has to do is unhook the flexible metal band that holds the battery in by gently bending it forward using a small screwdriver or butter knife. Replace the battery. Then just put the band back in. Takes about 2 minutes. Or just take it down to your local jeweler and let them replace it for about $15.
