Things to note with this port; 1. The absence of sound effects 2. Oversimplified and goofy looking sprites (understandable since this was probably on an old flip phone) 3. Stage music except for Cut Man, the boss music and Wily Stage 1 had been mixed up 4. Thunder Beam has the color pallette for Metal Blade 5. Magnet Beam is obtained in Bomb Man's stage instead of Elec Man's stage 6. Wily Stage boss fights are connected in one big onslaught 7. No ending cutscene, only a black screen with text Over all, at least it's more faithful to the source than the DOS version
Well, this take on Mega Man sure is... something. I will say this in its behalf: 1. This is somehow closer to being a Mega Man game than the DOS Mega Man game ever was. 2. Strangely, this is the only game where Hyper Bomb isn't an outright piece-of-trash Special Weapon like in all other versions of Mega Man. The most brutal part of this adaption, is the mandatory BOSS RUSH to end the game. Like, what???
DOS wishes it were J2ME Mega Man lol And the boss rush wasn't that bad, if Mega Man is destroyed, he can retry the boss he was defeated by without the fights before
@@JavaMR I wondered if that was the case with the boss rush. It looked like might have been an abundance of continue points early on, but I wasn’t sure about the end of the game since you flew on through it. Could you imagine what it’d be like if they created that boss rush the exact same way for the original NES game?
Some of the Stages have the wrong music. Elecman has Iceman’s Music Iceman has Bombman’s Music Bombman has Elecman’s Music Fireman and Gutsman swapped Musics.
I noticed that during my playthrough. It's weird, was it a mistake that was there from the beginning or was my .jar file broken? I don't really have a way to find out.
This is what I could find about it on the Wiki. (The link is to an ad-free copy of the Fandom Wiki. You're welcome!) breeze.mint.lgbt/megaman/wiki/Mega_Man_(video_game)#2004_mobile_phone_edition I wish I knew what specific phones this port was made for, to be honest. Neither of the pictures on the wiki fit this version specifically. Maybe it was an in-between build? I can only get so much info from copyright dates...

@@Linker2A03 That sounds very unfun to do on a flip phone.

At least Cut Man has his music retained.
@@megatoonEJEAnd the Wily Stage 1.
@@mariodykstra6555 That too.
This is like the minimal version of mega man 1
@@Redheadedgamerdude It pretty much is, it was meant for old-school flip phones without much power in them.
Did you really find this
Or did you make it
@@efeugurYT It was in a collection of .jar files for old phones. It was just titled megaman.jar. I'll try and find more info about it.
