- Toward a Theory of Everything in the World of Human Behavior
November 27, 2014
What are the fundamental engines of human behavior? How do they work? What do they predict? This lecture describes two approaches in the search for reliable knowledge on human behavior and social phenomena. The first pertains to the possibility of a few fundamental forces, such as the desire to know the causes of things; to judge the goodness of things; to be perfect; and to be free. The second pertains to a set of three forces - justice, status, and power - which, echoing Plato, together yield five ways that humans search for happiness and five basic types of societies.
