Balochistan is recognized all over the country for its traditional cuisine. The bread cook here in different ways, Kurno (کرنو) or Caak (کاک) is cooked by wrapping it on a warm stone, Wari (وری) is cooked inside the hot sand, Sheti (شتی) is baked on top of hot coals and the Ishta Pushta is cooked between two hot stones
Makran is most famous for its fish dishes People here prepare different types of dishes from fish These traditional dishes have their own delicious taste and because of the unique method of making. Even today people in different parts of the province fondly make these ancient dishes and the recipe for making them has been passed down for centuries. Some areas of Balochistan are famous for their unique dishes made here.
In Balochistan's traditional food series, In this video, we will teach you how to make Balochi Pizza or Ishta Pushta, which is considered one of the old dishes of the province. Put it in a round-shaped frame made of Mazari (wild palm) leaves then cooked it between two hot stones. In Balochi language brick is called Ishte and Pushte is called the back side. Due to its similarity with pizza and round shape, it is known as Balochi pizza. This dish is made only of small fish found in the river. In the local language, it is called Kore Mahi or river fish.
