I was 10 and I had recently learned about periods and I used the bathroom, got up to wash my hands, looked in the toilet and saw a LOT of blood. I quickly wiped and washed my hands and told my poor dad I had gotten my first period. (He was helping my brother who was crying because he fell down the stairs) and I felt light headed and shakey. A couple days later they made me a small strawberry cake and we ate it together. I love them.

I got mine at like 10. I read all these books on self care and looked up things I was curious about on the internet a lot, so I knew what it was. Although, I have social anxiety and I was too nervous to tell my mom, so I just stuffed some toilet paper there and never said a word. Weirdly enough, my period like disappeared after that, it came back a couple months later and did the same thing. Eventually when I started getting it regularly I had to tell my mom.

I got mine at home, and pretty much knew what to do (my mom taught me like- everything about it that year cus she thought i was gonna get it, as well as how to use the products, she bought those for me and put them in a small part of my closet)

I really wanted my sister to go swimming with me when I was 7 and she was 14. She kept on saying she couldn’t but I got really upset and kept asking why but she didn’t answer. Eventually she told me she had her period and couldn’t go so I screamed at her because I thought she was making up something ( I mean I was 7😅) but my mom came in and said it was true but they didn’t tell the whole education about it and stuff

I was 12 and had known for a while that I’d be getting it soon. My mom gave me these light pads that I wore everyday just in case. I knew I got period during a Passover Seder when I left to use the bathroom. Luckily I didn’t have an embarrassing period story like so many I’ve heard.

Okay so I was nine too. But my mom had told me about it the year prior- I realized while going to the bathroom and it wasn't too big of a deal. Minus the fact I didn't tell anyone for 2 years and just used a bunch of toilet paper as pads.

heres my first period story,it was around march and i was about to go somewhere my period started a few days before but i never thought about it and thought it was something dirty on my underwear,the next day i was at the airport my pants where white so the blood was shown i tried my best to make it not look like i js shit myself at the airplane i was sotting down dead ass worried my random stain could stain the airplane seat and ofc it did,my dad was sitting next to me and he told my mom that i got my period,my mom took me to the baghroom and gave me pads my underwear and pants were still stained but i was able to change them when we reached our destination(i feel bad for the airplane seat i stained on 😭)
my parents never explained periods to me, they just expected me to already know how and why they happened
Actually...mine was kinda dumb 😅 long story short, I didn't know it was period until 3 days it started and on the third day I saw this weird thing keep happening, I called my mum and she said: "Oh! You got your period!" And I was like: "my what?" 😳 it was the only one painless tho 🥺😭

I got mine right before PE and found out during the time we were all getting dressed. I begged a friend for a pad and she had one. I didn’t know you’re supposed to change it periodically and that I had to go to a graduation party that day 😂. Long story short it turned a really gross color, I told my mom and she let me know you’re supposed to change it; so I did. Then my dad yelled “you’re a woman now!” And was crying. 😂
I was nine at the end of fourth grade. Covid was still horrible because that was in 2020 but I went to use the bathroom after school and saw blood. Not to much. I stayed calm because my mom had educated me on these things so I calmly went home and asked her “is this period blood” And she said yes it was. I remember when I got mine for the first time, I was about 9-10 years old then and I knew what a period was because my mother told me about it before because she knew that I can get my first period even very early. I got it at home, went to the bathroom and saw blood and started crying (because I didn't want it), I immediately called my mother and she was happy that I finally became a woman...

My period story:
I was 9 years old. I’d just finished school for the day. I needed to go number 2 so I went to the schools bathroom and that’s when I saw red in my… Um… What are they called in English? Underwear? Okay. Anyway… I never learned that you’re supposed to be ashamed of your period until we had the birds and bees talk in school. My mom was a feminist and she teached me about periods when I was very young. She was a great mom! That’s why when I got my period, I didn’t panic or anything. I just took some toilet paper and used them as a pad until I got home and I told my mom that I was now old enough to get my allowance. She was so proud!
Got mine on Halloween. HALLOWEEN- THE SPOOKY DAY (having to wear a pad and a cat costume at the same time sucked 😅)
I got mine on Christmas morning at 10.
Thankfully, at home😅 and i knew what periods were :D

My first period story happened during Covid-19. I was 12 years old. We only had one bathroom. Luckily my mom already taught me how to use pads. I was at home and tried to hide from my sibling.
I got my first on new year..when i had plans to go out with my family..my second one was on my 12th birthday..telling my girl-friends abiut that the only thing they have to say is "you got the eorst birthday gift ever lol-" and i couldnt agree more..(also kinda like how all the girls are sharing their storis..ferls like a girls time even though i dont know ya'll)

Mine felt scary.. I got it at night luckily but the night before I had a horrible feeling like something was going to go wrong and I didn’t know what and I thought something was going to take or hurt my little brother bc he fell asleep in the living room close to the front door. I was 13 and my mom wasn’t home. I had a panic attack thinking something was going to hurt him and texted my friends crying bc of the bad feeling I had. It wasn’t physical it was a mental thing. It turned out in the morning just being my period and I was ok and so was my little brother 😊

I started my period at about 8 or 9 while my oldest sister was in the hospital... So I started it at the hospital and I was pretty freaked out about seeing the blood lol. Thankfully, since we were in public my mom was with me and she figured out it was just a period... I remember explaining what a period is to my niece (because one of her best friends had already gotten hers) and showing her a video on how period starts and some discussions about fertility and a female's reproductive system and etc (I'm a nurse so she thought of asking me) Then lo and behold just a few months after our talk it was her 12th bday, and just weeks after that she got her period and she wasn't scared and freaked out at all.. She just walked straight to her mom and told her about it and got herself cleaned up and with pads. I'm glad we were able to have that discussion and that when she had it she was just waking up to get ready for school.
I have a Filipino grandma and she would tell me that if I have my period to let her know and no one else, I came home from a big test and I didn’t notice that I was bleeding (period) so I ran to her and she told me to go to the bathroom and take off my (Underwear) and put pads on. After I did she took my underwear and washed the blood off and gave it back to me telling me to RUB it on my face in the backyard in front of the sun so I wouldn’t get pimples.

I got mine when I was playing with legos with my older cousin, I was 10 at the time and she was 14. I remember standing up and seeping a big red circle on the back of my skirt lol. I was kinda sad because I just ruined one of my favourite skirts :
When I got my first one, I was nowhere near home, nor did I know what to do. I had gone to "the talk" in school, but I had undiagnosed ASD and ADHD at the time (diagnosed now), so I didn't remember anything. Plus, the lady I was with for the trip was so hard-core religious that I didn't feel comfortable telling her about it because I was afraid she would see it as some sort of "demon" or something. It was HORRIBLE. Looking back, I should've at least told my grandma when I got home, but I still felt so scared and embarrassed and in AWFUL pain. Then, the next month, I finally told my mom, but it wasn't until I was put on meds and diagnosed with a bunch of things that I finally told her about my first actual one. Needless to say, that person is no longer in my life, nor do I want her to ever be again.

My 1st period. 12 years old and at a middle school band ratings competition. I had started it the night before but my mom was like “oh it’s your first one, those aren’t so bad.” She then gave me a thin pad. Throughout the night I bled all over my bedsheets and still she was insisting that I was over reacting. I went to the band competition soaking through pad, undies, the shorts we had to wear under the band pants…AND THE WHITE BAND PANTS! I even bled through the chair. I ran to the bathroom and cried hysterically and tried to call my mom at work but her manager told me that she was busy and couldn’t get me.
I had to wear those soaked garments all day and no one could help me.

I think I was 11. I got extremely painful cramps during class and asked to use the bathroom. The teacher sent a classmate to check on me when it had been a really long time. If I recall correctly, I had my mom pick me up.
I will never forget this.
There was one day I got period stains on my pants and I decided to hide it when I got off the school bus. I was covering it with both hands when suddenly I lost balance and fall off. I sprained my ankle and couldn’t walk for 2 days. :(
