  • Hi! This project was made with a view to make this Ibanez desired and unique. That is a great guitar, but with a super boring appearnace (as for me).
    So here is the first part of the project which contains all the steps of body modification.
    Huge thanks for recording and filming to my friend Maxim

    Awesome job and awesome video man, loved it. The camera work, raw audio with no music. Never knew how veneer's were done, very interesting. 26 minutes well spent. Enjoy the guitar and enjoy this life.

    I actually like boring looking instruments. I prefer to let my playing do all the talking. But I dislike how sharp the RG is on the edges and am really digging your take on rounding it off. Really dig the burl veneer too. My favorite body shape is the Ibanez S Series. Huge fan of the RG though. I like your version alot.

    Great result, btw i much rather prefer to a poly finish, many layers in matte finish because you will always see the join portion between veneer and the body. With many layers of thick clearcoat can give you a smoother result. Anyway, amazing result! I really like you "respected" the instrument as Ibanez and used the RGD beveled style.

      Thank you, Stefano! Talking about the finish, I"ll observe the behavior of this and maybe will varnish over.
      Tomorrow we are going to shoot the final of this story, reassembling, new pickups, new bridge and a plythrough, stay tuned!

    Надо будет тоже так сделать, а то у меня из падука корпус на ибанезе, сначала было всё ок, а потом решил заделать флойд, получилось не красиво)

    Awesome job! Where do you find the RGD profile for shapping the guitar? I want to do the same with mine 😅

      Thank you!
      I searched out a hi-res picture of RGD model, transmitted on my tv, then made a huge piece of paper out of 4 or 5 A4 format, put it on tv and made a sketch

    Nice storytelling and beautiful camera perspectives and editing. The sound design is promising, however everything is in mono audio. It's a pain to listen to it on headphones. Did something go wrong with the upload?

      Hi, thank you! And thanks for your observation, this all was recorded in mono, next time will do in stereo

    Which oil do you use?

  • @solring
    @solring Рік тому

    Does the oil fill the holes in the veneer?

    • @amusia-guitars
      @amusia-guitars  Рік тому

      Hi! Wood absorbs the oil, finally we don't have a flat surface, you can still feel all the little holes, if talking about this guitar. Maybe exist other techiques or solutions how to achieve a totally flat surface with oil on a veneer

    • @solring
      @solring Рік тому

      @@amusia-guitars After watching some videos I would say that using some kind of grain filler might work, but I'm just guessing. Thanks for answering and by the way, I love the video.
