8:20 It should be noted that the Heterodox Academy was formed by Jonathan Haidt, and that he is Left-wing, not a conservative. His issue is that the Left has become usurped by very close-minded, dogmatic people. This has brought independent-thinking Leftists like Jordan Peterson into closer association with conservatives as they have a common interest in genuine dialogue.

If you want to stop paying for a TV license, then you have to no longer watch live TV and all other channels which use advertising.
You can watch UA-cam, Netflix, amazon prime, but nothing ‘live’.
You’d need to check with TV licensing to make sure you’re legal, and one of the comments on here is incorrectly implying that you can just stop using the BBC’s channels.

Being a working class man born in Stratford east London, I have experienced this immigration experiment which was so eloquently described in this interview, newham had policies in housing and schools where the white indigenous working class were basically left to their own devices, because in schools the priority was to teach the immigrants who by and large couldn’t speak English and therefore became a priority, I know this as my wife was school governor and teaching assistant in our daughters school and witnessed this, as for housing Stephen Timms who was at the time leader of newham council basically said that we needed more immigration into newham because we were basically all racists who lived there and this was a way of balancing this. We now live in Sussex because of this “positive discrimination”.

#How's this for undisguised, natural BBC bias? A Question Time audience member (21.3.19) was loudly applauded for his contention that the UK should leave the EU without a deal - as originally planned - on 29th March 2019. When the applause died down, presenter, Fiona Bruce, felt it necessary to tell viewers that the volume of the applause was misleading because not that many people were actually clapping. I have to confess that I became increasingly emotional whilst listening to this (& I am not known as an emotional type of person). Why? Because for about the last 15-20 years or so, I've thought that I was in a minority of one w.r.t. the bias of the BBC, state institutions of schools, universities, local government, police & other media of TV, newspapers & magazines. I have honestly questioned whether I may have been losing the plot & going a tad bonkers.
At last someone is actually saying what I've felt & believed for years! This is like a weight having been lifted from my shoulders.
I strongly object to my being forced to subsidise left-wing, feminist, multicultural, pro-E.U. biased journalism via my BBC licence fee, (I think its going up from £147 pa soon). Why should I be forced to subsidise the UK thought police of the biased BBC, just so I can watch any / all of the other TV channels within the UK? Please explain.
I am not a political animal at all, however I may well I may well purchase the book 'The Noble Liar', to better inform myself & claw-back my questioned sanity on this very important issue.

I think the problem is much greater than the “noble lie”.
It’s too complicated to go into here but one simple question. Why does no one question halal meat production?
Britain prides itself on protecting animals. Farmers have to abide by some of the strictest animal welfare rules in the world. Fox hunting with dogs is banned, even though the fox is likely to die a horrible death anyway. Yet we allow animals to be slaughtered as demanded by sharia law. Which means the normal stunning before death procedures are modified or bypassed. So now all meat provided by government institutions, hospitals, schools, prisons etc is halal.
Why do the beliefs of a recently arrived minority who don’t share our values, outweigh the values of the indigenous people?
And why is it never mentioned?

Those wedded to identity politics have a hierarchy of victimhood and muslims and ethnic minorities are at the top. That is why they are willing to sacrifice the wellbeing of gay people and women to those groups. In the cases like Rotherham it is why they were so reluctant to report on the rape gangs - Pakistani muslims rate higher than white women even if they are male. So much for attacking the evil patriarchy! . On the other hand if a white man does anything they go to town on him. Also look at the differing reactions to Christchurch and Sri Lanka. Before much was actually known about the attacks a muslim Guardian writer was trying to blame extremist Bhuddists! I'm sorry mate animals are way down the list. Their welfare is only an issue if a lower group such as white men is harming them.

Years ago, when I was growing up, we had ,The Archers’ a story of country folk. The people were characterised as good people. They would help each other, and worry about each other. This was sent around the world and gave a positive view of us. Then the BBC presented Albert Square, where people cheat, steal, are unfaithful to their partners, causing heart ache and unhappiness all the time. This is now the types of people that we think are normal, even though we are surrounded by people who are really trying to make other people’s lives better. This critical cynical view of normal people is so wrong. What can we do about being displayed much worse than we are, when others nations show themselves as heroes.

The BBC has enormous influence via patronage. A leftwing university professor, journalist or comedian can expect repeated invitations to appear on panel shows, or to narrate documentaries or present a TV series. In this way the BBC funds left wing figures, pays their salaries. They can acquire an entire career via BBC patronage. A person whose views are contrary to the BBC's narrative won't be invited to the BBC. The Guardian newspaper has annual losses in eight £ figures. The BBC places virtually all of its advertising for jobs in the media section of The Guardian, thereby funding the leftwing newspaper. Repeatedly inviting Guardian journalists to appear on the BBC is a means of padding their salaries.

What we need is proper degrees in Science, Sociology, History, Literature etc etc, and good and credible pathways to solid vocational studies. Vocational route seems to have been totally abandoned, and everyone seems to be interested in doing these useless degrees.

BBC - a duty to inform? A TV programme we should have expected from them about Brexit, before the referendum, but never materialised, would have been a courtroom-style inquiry which would have had arguments from both sides stating their case, and each being fairly cross-examined, point by point, and covering several hours and days. The aspects covered, for example: legal issues, trade, immigration (pros and cons), economy, finance,...etc. Instead, we got the usual tabloid-style, confrontational format which, curiously, always ran out of time before getting anywhere.

My son went for an audition for an advert for Sainsbury's in Manchester. Whether he got it or not, I did not care less. But what amused me was the advert sent to he agents. It said, and I paraphrase, "We do not welcome candidates with a Merseyside accent." As a scouser, I did find this stereotyping rather interesting.
No, you have guessed it, my son did not get the gig. Why? He was not the right colour. They wanted a Black man with a white wife and a whiter-shade-of-pale son would not have cut the mustard. Either that or it would have produced a very angry (non-Sainsburys shopper) father.
So, the result was a half-chat family. Father black, mother white (the only way adverts accept the arrangement).
Fine by me, but not so fine by the people of Liverpool when they found out about the agency advert.

Great interview. It highlights views about the BBC that I have held for the past 20 years. They have their agenda embedded in every program whether it is news or drama. It's everywhere

Why do they imagine telling us demonstrable falsehoods is good for us? It's akin to telling us smoking is healthy and the tooth fairy is real.

I'm reading Robin's book, The Noble Liar, at the moment, and it's very, very good. It's an in-depth sociological look at the BBC and Britain of the last 60 years. Highly recommended.

Excellent video! I have had to "like" it several times, as UA-cam keeps removing my like.

One reason why i stopped paying for the tv licence and stopped watching television. Also the constant multi ethnic brainwashing on commercials and tv shows.

Early on I bemoaned the fact that this excellent new show had so few views. Coming back to it now I’m encouraged that it has nearly 100k views. That said, after rewatching the interview I can’t help wishing it had even more exposure.
