After having visited Carowinds several times myself, I've come to rank my top 4 rides in the park as: 1. Fury 325 2. Afterburn 3. Copperhead Strike 4. Intimidator I know some people may be confused about Afterburn being ahead of CS, but I just can't ever pass up those good, forceful oldschool B&M's!
After a recent visit, I had a shift in my list 1 Fury 325, still number 1 to this date. There was a great ride op who motivated guests to board fast. 2 Copperhead Strike, this moved up on my list. I enjoyed it more than in 2022. The launches felt a little more powerful. 3 Afterburn, still one of the strongest and most interesting inverts by B&M 4 Thunder Striker, this made a big jump up on my coaster ranks, moving to the upper tier. The amount of sustained floater air was awesome. 5 Nighthawk, I finally got to ride it and found it very fun. 6 Drop Tower 7 Electrospin 8 Do se Do 9 The Air Race, I fogot its name 10 Windstar
From 7 to 1 7 Do Si Do. I like how this flat ride spins, but also elevates you. 6 Electrospin. The world needs more of these rides. 5 Drop Tower. It may be short, but it packs a punch 4 Intmidator. This is a good coaster, but it can't match the 3 above it. 3 Copperhead Strike. This is like a toned down Maverick. Still fun and has great themeing. Mack needs to beef up their launches though. 2. Afterburn. This is one of the most powerful B&M inverts out there. The brakes do hit hard though. 1 Fury 325. This is my number 1. It has it all, speed, power, airtime, and great length.
Fury325 is obviously a legend and worth the hype, but I was happy to see Copperhead Strike at number 2. The theming, weird layout, hang time, and down right fun seems really underrated in the coaster community to me.

You adjust the fin to gain height. Then you change the fin right before you hit the high or low point. This causes your tub to move out of sync, building slack in the cable.
@@CanobieCoaster Afterburn is pretty cool layout I mean though since their is a curved first drop their isn't a lot of airtime the coaster I think mainly focuses on inversions I hope I am not wrong
I have no clue how to snap on MG, I can do every other type of flyer but just was never able to get that one down b/c of the literally 35 second cycle and limited sail movement.

I haven't ridden the other yet because I didn't have time, but if did rank the other two (Intimidator and Copperhead strike), I would keep them at your ranks. I have to say I am a bit surprised that The Flying Cobras wasn't on the list. Isn't that supposed to be one of the smoothest Vekoma Boomerangs out there?

I've noticed from POVS that Intimidator doesn't trim during the MCBR because it usually trims twice before it, which is even WORSE! It's bad enough there's a turnaround right after the drop but then to have the 1st two camelbacks (each separated by another turnaround) trimmed is infamy! Don't get me wrong: I love the long ride time and staggered seating trains but I'd imagine that it's the worst of the 4 w staggered seating B&M hypers which I'd argue are even better for floater airtime. Shambala is slightly short, (in length, not height); Diamondback is perfect for floater but it has a rattle, but I've not ridden any except Behemoth which I love, and I'm sure I'd love Fury 325 even better.
I was happy to see the respect for Vortex. Same top 3 for me. Honestly, I think I'd put Nighthawk as my # 4 ahead of Afterburn. Maybe I wouldn't say that if the Vekoma flyers were just as common as B&M inverts. Afterburn did run much slower for me last year compared to 2018. I was surprised how many of the general public I talked to that said that their favorite in the park was Intimidator over Fury. I heard a lot of that on both my 2018 & 2021 visits.
I used to like Intimidator more because I feel like it gives me stronger pops of airtime and the bunny hills are better, but Fury 325 has been winning lately because I’m addicted to that first drop.
@@breew1702 That's what others would say as well, and I realized that Intimidator does have not only more airtime, but it's just as strong as Fury's, if not stronger. I think the sense of speed that Fury maintains is what wins me over, or I'm unknowingly just following the pack in the Fury love.

After the amazing and world class top 4, it kind of falls. The park has several supporting coasters but its mainly those top 4 you want to look at. Id say all this already amazing park needs is a better modern wooden coaster and maybe an RMC. Defiantly time to do something with Hurler and for Night Hawk to go.
I have yet to do Copperhead Strike, but this is where my rankings would fall: 1. Fury 325 2. Copperhead Strike* 3. Afterburn 4. Mountain Gliders 5. Nighthawk 6. Intimidator 7. Drop Tower 8. I disagree with electro-spin being the best top scan. Sol Spin and Knott's recently got a new program and it's running way faster. While Knott's technically is a Ventura model since it has six seats per gondola instead of 5, it's a wonderfully forceful experience. Even if the control system is immensely temperamental....
About Hurler at Carowinds, did many people like it, between the original ride experience which means it didn't have the trim brake and the ride experience with the trim brake added at the base of the first drop? I always love snapping those gliders. Some employees actually do snapping contests to see who can get the highest. I find that if I dive in hard, I can really get a great snap. I've snapped as high as the canopy over the queue. I still wish Hurler didn't get those trims...but Fury 325 reigns supreme! I hope they get something real good to replace Rip Roarin' Rapids.
Sounds like you rode a completely different version of Vortex than me. I didn't like Vortex at all, between the headbanging and crotch blows. Even trying to ride it defensively, it was a miserable experience. By far my least favorite B&M and one of my top 15 least favorite coasters.
Hurler needs to be torn down for a better woody that is like 140 ft or 200 ft this ride just sucks really after the first drop the layout is so boring with little to no airtime at all

It's a short cycle, but I've never had trouble snapping. Maybe it's because I'm used to the near impossible Lake Compounce ones.

From my rides, the MCBR trim tends to hit harder than the camelback trims.

I make sure the bike seat is way below my crotch and the OTSR is jammed into my shoulders to eliminate headbanging.
5. Goldrusher
It was more tolerable than I remembered when I rode it again this year, but it still wasn't good.

Hurler needs to be torn down for a better woody that is like 140 ft or 200 ft this ride just sucks really after the first drop the layout is so boring with little to no airtime at all
I'd welcome a RMC conversion.

Hurler was awful. Most rough coaster I’ve ever ridden. Definitely gave me a headache after.
I found it reasonably smooth. More boring than rough.

Kiddy Hawk is awful. Goldrusher was more disappointing than painful in a reride.
