HEY GUYS, I recently watched the video of littlefoots birth and that was beyond amazing!! I decided then that I was going to go to your very first video and watch them in order. You guys are so new that I didn't have to go far but I vegged anyways! So now you've a fan that will be around as long as you are!! Oh, the baby that came out complete in the sack, I think they call that a mermaid baby or mermaid birth, anyways lol mermaid something lmao! That was so amazing to watch it! Give Littlefoot snuggles, then more snuggles from an instant fan! 💖 take care guys and I'm glad you started this, I love these goat videos!
Ditto that comment! I as well just found your channel and watched all 6 of your videos! I used to have goats and ducks when I was younger, now just 2 flocks of 7-9 year old chickens! Really enjoying your new channel! I had a bottle fed goat that loved to be in my lap too! Lol!
Have just started watching your channel and love it already. Can see the love you have for all the goats, it is so beautiful to see. Looks forward to watching more for Perth, Australia 🇦🇺
What a beautiful channel you have here. I seen you come up in the suggested videos, the birth of Little Foot and you had me right there. Subbed right away. I have been a farmer most of my life and seeing you help birth the triplets you said you may have saved 3 lives, no... you saved all 4. 😃 💙 From Alberta 🇨🇦
@@cosudu3002 I know that area well. Or I should say used to know. Grew up partly in Calgary, then went to The Art College there. Went on a lot of drives through that country. So beautiful.
When you have a true breach like this, as a veterinarian I will tell you your instinct says pull, but what you need to do is gently push forward so you can catch a back leg and bring the hoof to the center while bending/flipping the hock and knee out to the side of the mom. That way the leg is free to extend out of the uterus when you straighten it out towards you. Then do the same with the other leg. The smallest usually always comes first. Never just pull a fetus as it presents breached bc you may tear the uterine artery resulting in swift death of the doe. Love your channel. Love to share it!
Good thing "mum" got your help or all kids could not have gotten out in time. All those wonderful "mums" could not stop/wait cleaning their babies despite being still in painful labor.
Hi Woodside guys, I chanced upon your video about Littlefoot and was instantly smitten so of course I had to subscribe to your channel. These beautiful goats are joyous little creatures and so funny to watch interacting with each other and with you guys. Of course now I want a goat! I so rarely comment on anything but just had to reach out and thank you for uploading these great videos - I think it’s great that you don’t shy away from showing all aspects of life on the farm including the birth of baby goats. Fascinating stuff. With love from me in Sydney, Australia.
Most people interfere and bring towels and wipe off and discard all of the sack and goo and stuff instead of letting mom clean the baby and eat the stuff. Letting it be almost completely natural is honestly better for them y’all seem like you know how to do stuff the right way :)
Your Little Foot videos came up as a suggestion on my feed and of course being a fan of little goats I had to watch! I'm hooked now and a firm subscriber. It's clear that you love all your animals dearly. Give your wonderful livestock guardian dogs a pet from me 😀
Oh my goodness, I felt uncomfortable for mum--Talking out loud " find what you need, move this along, move this along!"just hoping for her, that your hand could come out soon!! ;) Glad you were able to help save her and her babies!! Brought back memories of the birth of our two! Thank you for sharing your family with us!! :)
Poor momma. That was no fun for her, but she got down to business tending to her babies right away. Good thing she had you there to help sort the kids out.

Great job helping! Love this goat. She’s so calm and she seems like a great mom. Good luck to you all. I’d love a video on how you got started, types of goats etc.
cool, you guys are goat midwives. nice to see so many happy animals being cared for by a couple nice fellas. wishing you great success with your channel, keep doing what you do, inspiring more folks to see what you see in animals.
Nice UA-cam channel, down to earth and realistic. Kudos. A word of advice: Never enter the vaginal canal without first disinfecting your hands/arms with Chlorhexidine Gluconate and/or an Iodine surgical scrub (such as Betadine), otherwise you will introduce bacteria. Always wear surgical gloves and even shoulder length gloves depending on how far in you need to reach and remove your wristwatch. FYI, we are a dairy farm and creamery licensed by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture. We raise only purebred Nigerian Dwarf goats and typically have more than 50 kids born per year. Note that birthing complications can get FAR worse than what you have shown! Edit: corrected grammar.
I don’t know if goats vaginal canal’s work like human females, but introducing bacteria from the vagina into the uterus can make it painfully infected. I hate to think of one of these goats going through that.
@@spiralrose Yes, the danger of infection is the concern. If the kidding is very difficult (i.e., we have to reach deep and manipulate the fetuses), we will administer a regimen of Penicillin for several days. Sometimes when we have a bad case of entanglement, we have to work for a couple of hours to get the kids out, which is very hard on the dam. Anyway, the more sterile the conditions, the better.
Hi Guys. Pleased that Ive found your channel, I Love Goats!!! Tell us more about what your farm is for? Why so many goats? Do you sell the milk ... I do know that they are incredibly addictive 😂 Lyn
We raise and sell our baby goats as pets. We just love goats and enjoy sharing that love with others. We don’t milk them although they are miniature dairy goats. They’re very popular pets here in the Pacific Northwest. We have an invasive blackberry plant species here that is very hard to get rid of, and goats love to eat it.
@@peterwoodside1020 Thank you Peter, they are wonderful pets and yes, great at weed control. We have invasive Blackberry here in Australia too and they do an awesome job clearing it. I was just surfing off the web and found your site. I watch a woman from Canada who raises sheep so I thought why not goats. Just a couple of questions, where is your farm. Do you sell any of the milk that your goats produce? Watching you help your ladies give birth was beautiful. I’m sorry one of your babies did not survive, but I think that tiny little one is adorable. I think I will watch you guys as often as you post. Good luck with your adventure.
Our farm is located a little bit west of Portland Oregon. We don’t sell any of our milk, because the regulations are pretty strict on selling anything that people eat. The equipment required to collect and process the milk is more expensive than we can afford. We also enjoy not having to milk them multiple times a day. Glad you enjoy what we’re doing!
@@peterwoodside1020 We spent more than $250,000 just for building out the interior of an existing structure for a Grade-A compliant milk processing room (we are a commercial dairy goat farm and creamery licensed by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture).
