Hands on, real world testing of tires aired up to 50psi, then at 30psi. After driving around the desert on washboard roads, potholes, and fist sized gravel, it was time to look into a way to help with the harsh ride. We went with the ARB Compressor and Speedflate System.
After just a few times airing down to 30 psi and driving on gravel around here in Estes Park, the difference is...incredible. Soft, smooth ride over washboards and gravel. I'm still experimenting with tire pressure so if you have recommendations let me know! I'd be happy to hear what you do!
The total cost of this setup is about $500 after the Speedflate System and the ARB Single Compressor. The ARB Compressor comes with a very capable 20' hose to air up one tire at a time, but in order to do this a lot quicker, we bought the Speedflate System. If you aren't in a hurry and want to save a bit of cash (about $200) don't buy the Speedflate. It's nice, but it's a luxury to go that much faster.

Staggered air pressure? I did not know it is a thing!
Yep, after doing some research it does make a difference. The recommended tire pressure for these big vans is different for the front and rear from the factory.
Good presentation. I was wondering if you couldn’t run a short section of hose from your compressor to the grill area…so you could hook up without lifting the hood. The travels y’all are planning, oh wow, please post them.
Thanks Ron! Yep, that is an option too. I wondered about doing that, but then I didn't want to have to run more wire everywhere for switches/fuses/ etc.
