most of those rigs would play games fine, just bad prices... I have never once sold something on craigslist without the person showing up and offering less than what the post said. So now I always ask for a lot more than what I want, let them talk me down to what I really wanted, and let them think they saved some money.

Maybe a case was bought that doesnt have much room in the back...you still can arrange them better than a big waded up mess of cables. If you want to sell something for far more than its worth you ought to at least make it look the best it possibly can.

A lot of people think that a 10% discount from what they originally paid 3 years ago is a good price to list at. Your PC loses roughly 15% of it's value the day you buy it.
After just a year, someone offering you 60% of what you originally paid is more than fair. These guys wan't to have their cake and eat it too. If you're an early adopter and want to buy the shiniest gear as soon as it drops, you will lose money.
Also, when they start listing the retail prices for the parts, you know they're in full denial and there isn't even a possibility of offering them accepting a reasonable price.

When I see listings like that I then ask myself, where on earth was he looking to get an interpretation that made the guy suggest it has a TB in the first place? If I was going to sell a computer, especially one I built - i'd try to be perfect with my listing because in my mind, the guy buying this crap is probably smarter then you are so I wouldn't leave any hints of ignorance for a potential buyer to take advantage of hahaha
Hearing "cable management is trash" really starts to grate on your ears after 50 times, especially since that's probably the least important part of the price.
In my opinion, this video idea has a lot of potential but could have been executed on better. It might have been more interesting if you compared the real worth of the PC to what their ridiculous asking price, for example.

If you want a cheap case and no window, just get a good old HAF 912. In fact, I just built my new R7 1700X - GTX 1070 rig in one.

I think when they say "custom", they just mean that it's not an off-the-shelf pre-built PC. They customized it the way that they did with parts they bought.
Sir_Sethery they are using "custom" as a way to push their marketing. Just because I built my PC for my needs, that does not mean it's in anyway custom built for anyone else. At least that's the case with these second hand computers.
here is a newsflash for you, ANY pc you build yourself is CUSTOM since its not prebuilt and no one else can build it the exact same way .. if you use a different screw for mounting ur PSU compared to everyone else its CUSTOM... jeez learn the meaning of the word before you slam it ;)

2. The optic aspect is quite important if you want to try stuff. My point is, you shouldn't pick unfortunate photos of stuff you try to sell. To be serious those PCs with absurdly bad cable managements look like there was a rat's nest inside and it died at some point.
And cable management isn't hard, especially with higher priced/higher quality cases. I got myself a 50$ case from Corsair with super-simple cable managemnt and I got it to look 1000 times better than those people (hence it was my first PC build ever)

I love this! I try to referb pcs and run into this all the time.
Before I knew much about building computers, I bought a pre-built desktop from hp that has an entry level core i5 CPU and integrated graphics, low ram, mechanical hdd, and it cost $600! That system is probably worth less than a $100 but i have since upgraded every component of that computer except the motherboard.
That's like every 2nd hand PC seller and now parts seller where I live.
I saw a AD on a place you can sell stuff locally I forgot name. They were selling a PC that said Modern and advanced computer. It was a Hp with a Apu no dedicated gpu. It was selling for $750

GPU boss REALLY is trash....UserBenchmark is SOOOO much better and more accurate as they usually have tests of 50,000+ systems with that part and tell the exact sytem parts and which brands tested the best.
Plus GPU boss said the gtx780 was better than the gtx1080 for nearly 6 months till they updated it
I mean, userbenchmark is also trash, if you are getting a GPU/CPU cheack real world gaming benchmarks from sites like Gamersnexus, Techpowerup or even Tomshardware...
userbenchmark is not trash if you know how one of the components perform irl. actually it is the best comparison tool in my opinion since its a real life test on thousands of computers on the same standard. it is not enough to see a parts performance(you should look up reviews for that) but if you know one of the parts performance, its the best tool for finding the other parts performance.
This video just proves any dumb schmuck can build a pc so show this to your friends if they are hesitating to build one! xD

I got that case at 11:10 , lol. Its pretty modular and has great airflow, but the most of the components under the motherboard tray get crammed a bit behind the power supply.

I mean technically buying parts separately and assembling yourself is still custom, but like the pile of legos a 2 year old puts together is custom too. Even so, if you're going to call it custom at least have the decency to get some sleeved extensions and fix the cable management. do anything at all that isnt just slap happy ffs. You know what if your PC looks less presentable or as presentable as a shitty OEM PC you dont get to call it custom.

good psus generally come with flat black cables, they're fine but nylon sleeving looks better than the insulation. I used sleeved extensions as a cheap example of one way to make it look less terrible especially in the case of sauce cables, you're the one who got pissy about it lmao. generally speaking a rig does look better with custom cables, cables can be the most prominent and ugliest part of any build, but that's only one minor change you *could* make.
I got a server with a 1400watt (350$ psu), two 7499 benchmark xeons (65$ a piece), 8gb ram, on a 200$ supermicro board for 100$. The surprise is that it actually boots.
good thing that while watching this my PC was sitting right next to my monitor so I could look at it every time I started crying..

I messaged someone with a stupid post and they said it was a joke and I was the first to say something.
That "Cube PC" is a Cooler Master HAF XB EVO. It's a Lan Box. I just built mine with that case. In my personal opinion, it's an amazing case. With all my cooling I can run No Man's Sky at Max settings with no problem and it stays fairly cool.
The one thing that drives me nuts about computers and computer hardware right now, is how if you don't keep yourself updated, you will get taken for a ride by people just like this. 100% will.
I got ripped off badly by a guy in Nanaimo, Canada where I live. He sold me a PC almost 10 years old (a fact I never learned) for about three times the price every other refurbisher was charging and then told me he has a no-return policy, so I basically pissed away a lot of money on something which can't even support modern hardware upgrades.
It was my fault for not doing my research first, but my god, never underestimate some people's capacity to think they can prey on/rip others off.

Im selling my current rig for a bit less then what it was worth, ive been going through ads on Ebay and craigslist laughing at how much these people want. Although i did just get a 6700k, 16 gb 3k mhz ram and a mobo for 355 so there are deals to be had, just have to sift through and get lucky.

Yeah regarding cable management, mine is also trash, but I have it all boxed up so it can't be seen. Works for me as I don't really have an interest on how it looks inside, as long as it all works well.

Why do you care so much about cable management? If I remember correctly, either yourself or LinusTechTips did a video that basically proved good cable management meant nothing for performance. Sure, maybe it looks better, but that's not what PCs are for anyway. If I saw a good deal with the shittiest cable management on earth, I'd still buy.

You're right. I think the only one that made a difference is when they stuffed a blanket or something like that in the case.
Traviiis48 A cable management is something you could take the time to do yourself providing the PC you buy is a bargain. I recently purchased my Ryzen 1800x build with the EVGA GTX 1070 SC2 iCX which I payed well over a £1000 for with horrible cable management with the NZXT case and all it took was 5 minutes to tidy the wires up but again, no performance increase apart from when I installed a M.2. To the board
But why should I? It's just a waste of my time. I won't be looking at it all the time (if ever), it will be sitting under my desk.
Traviiis48 I suppose it depends on all of the fancy lights you have, and whether it's liquid cooled or has a huge heatsync cooler on etc. And if you're one of those people that put it on top of your desk or under it etc. So I understand what you mean

i3-2120, GTX 460, 8 GB of RAM with 1 4GB stick and 2 2GB sticks(cancer, I know...), and now he's got a STRIX 1070 with those NZXT RGB fans with the *same* i3-2120, B75-based motherboard, but at least he also got a significantly better case. Now the only eyesore in his PC is the stock cooler and brown motherboard...

Caring about "cable management" is stupid. Buying a computer to look at its insides makes no sense. I dislike the trend of all these cases with windows and these motherboards and fans with lights on them. I buy a computer to use it by looking at my monitor and listening to my speakers/headphones, not look at the case.
