This 2012 tutorial is still helpful to me today. I like your easy and non-stress way of explaining thing. Hope to get more of this type of tutorial from your. Cheers.
This tutorial covers the graphical portion of Quartus ... I haven't done much with VHDL, so I don't have much to suggest! But glad you enjoyed the video! Cheers, Jim.
7:30 *Anyone* Did your compilation fail? If your here to try your first CPLD project and got the *Error (12007) Top-level design entity undefined* message (Quartus Prime 18.0.0), go to *Assignments* tab > *Settings* > *General* Set the *Top-level entity* in the dialog box. Now it will compile like the tutorial here ;) -Jake
Thank you sir i am verry happy to see this videos. because actualy i am study this application at université, so we have not a great time with the teacher
Hi, I haven't yet had any luck with drivers and version 12.0 ... so I'm advising my students to use version 11.1 until I get it figured out. If you're using a later version of 11.1 and the USB_Blaster isn't showing up, use the drivers from version 10 and that seems to work. Thanks for the feedback! Cheers, Jim.
Feedback loops provide generic mechanisms for controlling the running, maintenance, and evolution of software and computing systems.[38] Feedback-loops are important models in the engineering of adaptive software, as they define the behaviour of the interactions among the control elements over the adaptation process, to guarantee system properties at run-time. Feedback loops and foundations of control theory have been successfully applied to computing systems.[39] In particular, they have been applied to the development of products such as IBM's Universal Database server and IBM Tivoli. From a software perspective, the autonomic (MAPE, monitor analyze plan execute) loop proposed by researchers of IBM is another valuable contribution to the application of feedback loops to the control of dynamic properties and the design and evolution of autonomic software systems
awesome thank you you got me past some of the issues i was having now for me too figure out how too get the usb blaster too show up for the chip programmer section.
I had problems getting my USB-Blaster to show up in the Programmer. I was using Quartus II 12 SP2 along with its drivers. After visiting the Altera forums I downloaded the drivers for Quartus II 11.1 SP1 and it _seems_ to be working fine so far.
Hold on! Where is that project navigator? I have here "Tasks" then below "Flow:" and in window I can chose either one of these: Compilation, Early timing estimate with synthesis, gate level simulation, RTL simulation, or Full design. So, which one? I am using Quartus II, 32 bit, Version 12.... Okay, I will try to find it myself.
Hi, I know this tutorial is old, but I kinda need some help. Do you have the install files for Quartus II v11.1 Web Edition and the qdz file for Stratix III? It would be a great help if you could share the files.
hi, sir i am appreciating your method to explain the course it was clear and amazing to learn this lesson ,i am asking you if you can give me a better way to install the QUARTUS application in my laptop please.Thank you for answering my question .
hello its a nice tutorial..just wanted to ask should the name of project and name of top level design entity should be same?? like if i am coding in verilog the name of my module, for example say is MUX_4..should MUX_4 be the name of my top level design or it could be anything.
When I try to input the pin location it keeps telling me "Editing location assignment is not successful. Not assignable." Whatever pin I try it keeps telling me this. Is there a way to fix this?

Awesome starter tutorial. I was floundering in my attempts to get my FPGA up and running and this got me going in the right direction. Thanks!
Good quick intro, about as simple as it can be explained.

I need to use the internal 50MHz clock in my Deo Nano. Is it just a regular pin?
