Have this saddle for a month and rode over 150 miles on it and had no discomfort at all. Way better than the Aeoulus saddle which was so uncomfortable. Worth it
def want to try this verse saddle, I seem to have a lot of your same issues. I feel like my main limiting factor on the bike is saddle comfort and not lack of fitness. I'd like to do longer rides but I'm just not comfortable enough.
Well yesterday I did a 2-hour ride on it and today a 3-hour ride and so far so excellent. I can confirm that the seat is definitely working for me. I am able to give you some of my stats maybe that might help you. I'm 52, 5 ft 5 in 140 lb and the saddle I'm on is the 155 mm.
Please share a follow up review on this saddle with us! I might be doing the same, it’s more a sit bone issue for me so hopefully it will help since I already had a bike fit as you mentioned.
Most comfy saddle i ever try.. 207 km the longer distance i try with this saddle without any issue... After try maybe 10 saddle ... Thanks i give it a try with this saddle... And oh.. it's just work for me.. In my case.. i have only 118 seatbone... But never cope with 145 saddle.. because i have a leg length difference.. it,s make my but shaking a little bit.. event with a correct seat high, and this thing destroy my perineum..😅 Something that i notice the difference about this saddle is , verse model have a flatter area on the mid section.. and this just feel right for me... When i try this saddle.. i buy 155mm.. And it's work fantastic for me.. Really no issue... Again.. Thanks for sharing this review mate...
My 2021 Trek Emonda ALR4 entry-model roadbike came with this versecomp. I cant say if its comfortable or not as i dont have expereince with other saddles. but thank you for the info :)
Nice, down-to-earth video. I think I'll subscribe. A couple comments from me: I recently put the Giant "Approach" saddle on my bike. It came with the "Contact" saddle which I thought was fine even after a few seasons. The Approach has the same shape basically (gentle divergence toward the back) but a slightly wider tail and a wider "see through" channel. Actually, it looks a lot like your Bontrager. My trainer tolerance time has doubled and I am basically not even aware of the saddle after the first few minutes. I think this idea is the key - not being aware. The biggest takeaway for me is to get a saddle with a good cutout in order to avoid "electric penis". Lastly, to my eye, your saddle looks very tipped down. Are (were) you finding yourself often having to nudge backwards? Your angle choice a throwback to triathalon?
I bought the Verse Elite today for my road bike, I wanted something in-between soft and hard. So I assume the Comp version is a bit softer than the Elite one I bought. I previously had a Fizik R5 Vento which was a racing saddle, big mistake that thing kills the sit-bones on Zwift, it put's you in a great position but it's too painful and the top isn't grippy I can even hear my bibs move on the saddle. Really liking the Verse so far, it has more grip and is more of a normal sitting position, the Fizik was ment for a race bike and my stem is at the top so I def bought the wrong saddle first. If the Elite ends up hurting too much i'll just take it back and get the Comp, Bontrager let's you return them within 30 days if you don't like it.
From reading the website I think the padding on the elite and comp is the same? But I would be interested to know if this is actually the case. The pro is thinner/harder though (it says)
@@hexonatapeloop funny you say that because i bought the elite thinking the material is different, but it shows its the same as the verse comp. the elite has lighter rails though. so looks like i spent like $50 for lighter rails that i don't really care about...maybe i'll email trek to comfirm.
I have had what sounds like a lot of the same issues you were having im sure. I have tried quite a few saddles so far and really want a verse elite next if I can find one. My bike actually came with a verse saddle but its a 145 and I need a 155. I can ride the 145 but it gives me no room for error. I tried the Aeolus elite as well and it did give me taint relief lol but it was very uncomfortable everywhere else. I also like the long rails on the verse because I need my saddle far back.
Great one-liners in this vid! 😂 I just couldn’t get along with the Bontrager Verse. Also tried the Specialized Power in its various forms including the $325 Power Pro Mirror. Then tried a few more brands and types. Eventually, FINALLY, I came across the Giant Fleet SL….. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Relief. Perfect for me. Everyone’s butt and nether regions needs are different. As you said, find what works for you and ride happy! 🚴🏻♂️⭐️
Recently bought this saddle an giving it a try on the mt. Bike. Another bonus with Bontrager saddles is there is satisfaction guarantee for at least 30 days . After switching out the old specialized phenom with the verse, I found that I had to lower the seat post to find the right position for the verse. The 5mm difference was significant in position and comfort. Saddle width should be around (sit bone width + 30 mm) the 155mm likely to fit most people. At this point I am still evaluating
@@thecrowfliescrooked will do.. usually my mountain rides are 3.5 hours and around 28 miles. I've been struggling to find the saddle utopia after a bike fit and extra nice bib shorts. Hopefully this one or the Arvada is will do it. My ride is cross country so it's a semi aggressive position. A traditional nose might be better for really steep climbing which is not often for me but definitely part of my route. Looking to get a few more rides in and maybe another saddle purchase for comparison before a final decision on the Verse.
Hello! Thanks for the vid'! I got a Trek Dual Sport 3 since november 2020. Came with a Bontrager H1 saddle 16,5cm width (which is too wide for me). I am looking for the Bontrager Verse. What are your ischium/saddle width?
@@thecrowfliescrooked curious what is your sit bone width, mine are 120mm I bought the 145 (recommended) and my sit bones get sore wondering if maybe a little wider might be more comfortable.
I've been trying this saddle for a couple of months, but still having some issues with my perineum. Not bad, but not as good as expected. As this saddle isn't totally flat, could I ask you how have you set it up? flat from rear to nose? If I set it flat I feel some pressure on my soft-tissue from the mid part of the seat, specially when climbing step stuff.
It’s weird that when you’re young these pains don’t exist. I would ride my bike all day and night when I was a kid. Nothing. Now and an adult. Terrible.
If I am not mistaken a white saddle is for women, a bit wider and shorter, end special curved for women's anatomy. I can’t ride on saddles without a relief channel. The greatest challenge is a fixed bike indoor trainer. Thanks for video.
@@thecrowfliescrooked wouldn’t mind! I’m finding seat comfort is the limiting factor for me, very frustrating. It’s all complicated by brands being perfectly happy for people to go through several saddles and several £100 bib shorts trying to work it all out… PS like the shirt, is it Dickies?

I have been looking at this saddle. Cant decide if 155mm is wide enough or i should go for the 165mm. My sit bone width is 142mm
I think I've got the narrow one. I'm not entirely sold that it matters. Not unless you have an extremely narrow ass or the opposite.
I would definitely recommend you go with the 165. My sit bones are 125 and I have the 155 verse, and I wouldn't want to go any narrower.
thanks
