@ihbase I farm in the same area, and i remember this year very well. Farm average over 6000 acres was 48 bu. soybeans and 186 bu. corn. The soil is still producing after a lot of work. Everybody did what they had to to get the crop out, pay to put next years in and make a living. A little coverage with a ripper or chisel plow and it turned out fine. Was it the right thing to do? I can't answer that, you must be an expert, im just someone who gets the work done.
There isn't any wheat in this video, its of fall harvest and it only shows soybeans and then corn. And i guess people commenting on here don't realise that fields occasionally have bad spots in them, i have yet to see a perfect field. None of ours are anyway, some are close but they still have gravel spots and places where the cannal subs.
ya i second that. you know whats more fun try pullin a cat 666 out of 8 foot of soggy bottom ash its a pain but you learn a lot while trying, its great being 16 and both your mother and grandfather own gradeing company. life is pretty fun.
It's always fun chopping silage when you pull in with the truck and you're greeted by a john Deere 9400 and get a tow strap hooked on to you and drug through the field because the truck can't go a foot on its own.
Gotta love how everyone thinks they are a farmer and telling u how to take ur field off but they werent there to know the reason for taking it off like this half the people prolly never even been in a field
if it's that wet, why not stay out of the field for a few more days? I know time is crucial when it comes to harvest time... but getting the equipment stuck just breaks things and takes time and money... just sayin.. peace
When someone tells you it's to wet to work. Pfff there's nothing that can't be done. They have shows about logging in the swamp.. please... swamp farming good job.
South Dakota's weather changes so much, that when you harvest,it's a small window at times,so you have no choice,so you have to just get it done and not stand there all day pondering what to do.so give these guys a break, they are not judging you on what you do...
Have you ever heard the term RICE, look into it
Hey if it would be duck season I sure would be the first to line up in that sloppy corn!!! That's duck heaven there!!!!
Looks like it's time to invest money for some drainage tile.
Weed Diver,1227 A scraper and dig ditches.
Justin Germanovich that dint work very well 2009 was a wet and muddy mess with all the rain we got during fall
compare this to john deer
This really goes to show how good tracks really are
Let us hear the farm sounds instead of musc

@jesilvas0813 the monitor did say that but if you watch the video they are shelling some super shitty corn. No thanks...

its not the water that will get u stuck its the mud outside of the water that will all the water keeps enough compaction on the ground
dont you hate when you get to much water it takes out tons of crop. our family has a 1000 acre feild and we lost about 60 to overfloding.
@ihbase if you were any kind of farmer you would realize you have to do what you have to do sometimes, it dont matter the conditions...
I hope we don't have another fall like 2009 again for a very long time, it took 20 years off my life trying to get that crop in
Im sure they had no choice but to harvest, 5 bu an acre is better than nothing AND the can still use crop insurance for the rest
wow all i can say is you got it in the bin but im glad i dont have to deal with water that deep over the whole field.
I understand you have to get your grain in even though its wet but your going through lakes where nothing exists @:57
I shure hope he did, you could have held the olympics in that feild, that is the pool part of the olympics.
@DDiesel88 Just put them on 5 of our combines today, picking corn again tomorrow after 4 inches of rain
I would have thought if a combine has a bow wave, it might be too wet to work. Boy was I wrong!
I saw 216 dry, I'd get a $300,000 combine dirty for $3,000,000 worth of grain every year.
multi-tasking: Harvesting and trenching at the same time
whats the point if you have ruined your fields, then you cant grow anything.
Must be some good hard clay underneath that shit keeping you from sinking.
How about a little tile? Or maybe ditches and big pumps would be better...
Yeah that's why the have the fastest unload rate in the industry! SMART!
wish i could have a combine like that be better then a 7720 and a 8820
@Forbesy18 i think the brand is Haul Master. It;s called a grain cart
there are no perfect fields, and certanley none here in ireland...
@LexusCTf international harvester-Craig Morgan
hmmm, makes me want to take a combine for a drive, in the ocean
@ihbase True but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do ...
And what do you suggest ? Let it all rot ?
don´t deal with farming in that soil...fishery´s better
you do realize your not suppose to plant corn in a lakes! LOL
@ihbase @1:23 I THINK it said 216 bu/ac. Just saying.
nice vid looks like our corn silage harvest last year
Try having another 2 foot of mud and water, pulling tandem scarpers. You get stuck alot! lol
Guys, you should start planting rice with that level of water. You'd top the harvest charts easily.
if it's that wet, why not stay out of the field for a few more days? I know time is crucial when it comes to harvest time... but getting the equipment stuck just breaks things and takes time and money... just sayin.. peace
Hi what title the song? Greating from Poland
@jesilvas0813 thats impressive for that field
@DDiesel88 those tracks arent green are they!
Hope that was worth your 25% moisture corn!
how did that semi in the end not tip over??
When someone tells you it's to wet to work. Pfff there's nothing that can't be done. They have shows about logging in the swamp.. please... swamp farming good job.

Great video. Mud Hog now makes a powered axle for certain grain carts as well as the rear combine axle.
