1954 Ford Test Drive and Hood Hinge Failure!

In this video we go for a couple of short drives in our 1954 Ford Customline budget build project, continue assembling the car, wire it and deal with a bent hood hinge. Please comment down below if you have a solution for these hinges, or have other ideas!

so as far as hood hinges go, Im not sure if yours were compromised or if your not be very nice to them? They can be a little troublesome. On my 52 I have to bring the hood down slowly and kinda jiggle it into place. lubricating the hinges is a good idea as well. keep at it boys your motivated!

In the last video I posted, you can see that we replaced them again, and yeah jiggling the hood side to side helps a lot

I've heard the 52-54 hood hinges were weak and I've seen a few bent and broken. My 53 parts car came with two bent and broken hinges but my 52 Merc still has the originals in good working condition. They get plenty of oil which might help. Your car is looking great with the grille and lights now.
