Guys - good video. But I think you're missing one step. To remove the existing filter/frame assembly it's much easier to turn the "re-cycle air" control on. This moves the air door up and allows easy access to remove the existing filter/frame assembly. I found this in another video after I struggled to remove the filter/frame assembly.

We followed your directions, and it worked, but the frame for the filter did not come out easily, it was too big for the space to pull it out and it broke, so we just shoved the air filter in there without the framing, hoping for the best! Thank you so much for making this video, saved us 200 dollars! I have a 2002 Acura 3.5RL

Love the video… Quick Note… there is NO reason to remove the glove compartment. Once you disconnect the dampener you can let the glove compartment hang. Just a heads up for future viewers. ❤

This was a fabulous, SUPER helpful video, however, at 2:12, it would have helped to know there were 4 metal clips (one in each corner), at 2:40, it would have helped to have placed the car a/c on recycled air (mentioned below, didn't see til afterwards), and at 2:55, it would have helped to show an image of how the 2 frames are linked together (see 3:51) as I didn't watch the whole way through, just play & pause as I went. Thanks so much for saving me time & money!!!

Thank you. I used this to figure out what was wrong with my mom's 2002 RL glove box. Looks like one of the mechanics she took it to destroyed one of the hinges , one of the mounting points for the dampener and left the dampener detached and the curtain.

I know this is 8 years old, so this comment probably wont be seen but if it does. Did you guys make a video about changing the blower motor too? I cant find any on how to change that

Good Video, BUT, I did this procedure and you BETTER put the A/C in Recirculate Mode Before you try to get the filter frame out! Learned the hard way, what a Pain for this Maintenance Item. Darn Engineers! 2 hours.

Are you having trouble removing the filter frame?
My dampener cord refuses to detach
Slightly raising the glovebox can help put less strain on the cord when trying to detach it. It also has a clip that needs to be pinched so it can detach.
