I did not understand the first example when you said that Sarah was celebrating their anniversary with her husband you mean marriage anniversary? Sometimes birthday and anniversary can be confusing. In many languages when you say happy anniversary you literally mean "happy birthday", like in French "joyeux anniversaire" or "feliz aniversário" in Portuguese.
