Found your channel through Katja's announcement of this ReadAlong! Looking forward to reading most of these books with you next year. 😊 So many great choices! ❤ ~ Kim
Ooh this sounds like a great readalong! I'll try to join when I can (my reading language is french, so I'll have to check what's available in translation for me). Your enthusiasm about the books is always nice :) (i've been following your channel for a while but never commented).
@@elisam9054 thanks for commenting now and for being a silent follower before 😀 A couple are originally in French and you will bring something extra to the discussion. I hope some of the others have French translations.
Very ecxciting! I might join for some of the books. Especially Stella Gaitano, Hiromi Kawakama and maybe the Latin American ladies, although I will probably read those in Spanish.
Wow, you've got a book about my country, Taiwan. i read Han Kang's Vegetarian in Chinese translation before and didn't like it, but i will try to get an English version of another book. It's a pity you didn't show any book covers. Good picture will motivate book buying.
@@barbaralin3053 the book about Taiwan sounded so interesting and so it snuck on the list despite being nonfiction. Sorry about the lack of pictures. I am not proficient at editing in images. When I retire from work and have more time my editing will get more polished.
A few of these were already books I was interested so I'm happy to join along. I just went to an author event for an Uzbek book last night. Reading literature from around the world is such an amazing way to to explore other cultures and the universality of the human condition!
@@scallydandlingaboutthebooks Mothersland by Shahzoda Samarqandi. Its published by Three String Books so I'm not sure how easily it will be for you to acquire in the UK.
Yes yes yes!! I’m definitely going for as many of these as I can 🤩 and my English reading skills will allow. Maybe some of the books ware also translated in to German as the first one.

As I said to Katja, you two are the perfect hosts for this readathon! I’m hoping to do more reading by whim and not join in so many things this year, but some of these such as Old Kin and Edo’s Souls are very tempting 🤔
Not sure if I'll read any of these books, but before the end of this year I'll be reading a book in translation, "What You Are Looking For Is In The Library". I've heard so many mixed reviews so am looking forward to it. I think it'll be quite refreshing to read a book where all the stories are linked in a way, rather than other books where the `short stories don't really have anything connecting them except perhaps some of the characters.
@scallydandlingaboutthebook2711 Hey Ros, have you read "The Silent Tide" by Rachel Hore? That's another book about books and publishing I've had sitting around for a while but only just started reading.
@scallydandlingaboutthebook2711 I normally avoid that sort of genre too, but thought well the whole world seems to have read it and it has a cat on ' cover from what I'm told.
I'm in for the Han Kang and the South Sudanese novel. "Standing Heavy" is excellent, though it's not just Cote D'Ivoire migrants, they're from all of France's former colonies. Congrats on the 5-year anniversary too
Ros, this is such a brilliant announcement - I love what you chose to share about each book. I can't wait to host this with you 💛
Oh, I've not shared the other plans so this is a perfect teaser 😆, and very timely as I'll be sharing the next plans within the next few days 💛
@@PageTurnersWithKatja I realised I hadn't asked when you planned to announce the other ones. Glad I wasn't too far off the mark.
