    I so hear you on the impatience of wanting to knock out those debts ASAP! I'm in the same position and I am SO CLOSE to getting rid of my last credit card debt that it's a struggle to keep on track and not jump the gun for the instant gratification. We'll get there in due time, though - I have faith!

    Yess on the struggle with debts. I decided to buy furniture at Rooms To Go and I was encouraged by others to finance it because it would be “low to pay monthy” now I’m up here regretting these payments because they do add up. It’s no interest as well but still it’s the fact that I’m paying it monthly. Once I make more income I’m going to pay off this debt so fast! Great video!

    • @debt2none
      @debt2none  8 місяців тому +1

      Oooohhh yes, Rooms to Go, been there. I hated those monthly payments too. It’s tiring even without interest. We got this! One day we’ll both be debt free🙌🏾

    Hey Girl! I feel you with the "im tired of carrying debt"! I feel the same way about a car note; after two years of paying EVERY SINGLE MONTH! im tired . So I have a plan to pay off my car note two years early. 😤

    I have a main checking with a savings attached so even logging in to see that savings is tempting. I ended up opening another account with a different bank with 7 different savings account high yield interest. Every payday each week I budget, pay rent & bills for the week & transfer the other amounts to those accounts.
    3 are for savings - emergency, rainy day & taxes. 4 are sinking fund accounts for annual expenses etc. I track everything on a budget spreadsheet & have a separate spreadsheet to track the savings & SF as each sinking fund account will have multiple expenses (otherwise I would have had way to many accounts). This works well for me & I feel very organised this way! I only leave my weekly grocery & petrol money in my checking to spend each week. I spent the whole of last year smashing debt & am now on my saving phase - it feels so good!

    • @debt2none

    Yah we got was less because hubby made way more this year but I did put most of it to debt because I’m so so tried of interest.❤great to see you as always. But wondering why wait if you will have it. Even though it interest free.😊

      @debt2none  8 місяців тому +1

      Hi Gina! ❤️🤗 That’s great that your husband made way more. Yay!!
      I’m just using the next few months to collect higher interest on my savings. That’ll be $500 of interest if I wait until June to pay off my credit card. 😃

  • @suenos67
    @suenos67 8 місяців тому +4

    I would throw the funds towards the debt as I go. Don't sit on the funds. Pay the $3'000 right away then pay as much as possible each month. Lowers your debt to income.

    • @debt2none
      @debt2none  8 місяців тому +3

      Oh okay. That’s an idea. 👍🏾 I just want to collect higher interest on my savings for a few months until I have the full amount.

    Hey Kim….I have this issue too…I have noticed that if the money is in the bank and all my responsibilities are taken care of, I tend to spend more easily…. I guess that is why cash stuffing is working so well for me… I’m not gonna carry all that cash around and I don’t know the balance unless I count it… I’m not suggesting you go to cash. I’m just thinking of what makes my brain think it’s OK or makes me feel like it’s OK to spend it. I guess that is why I love the budget so much it gives the money a job and removes the guilt when I spend the extra. I am a chai tea girl too. I literally put $200 on my Starbucks account…. Last year that only last until May because I was taking my kiddos with me…. I want to see if I can stretch that out till about September this year. you’re doing a great job Kim June is around the corner and you will have some relief!!! I hope you have a great day friend!!!

    • @debt2none
      @debt2none  8 місяців тому

      Hey Melissa! That makes total sense. Cash budgeting does have a lot of perks. It would be easier for me to keep my spending down if all my money was stuffed away in my house. We’ll see if moving the money out of my checking right away puts an end to the frivolous spending. I should just put $200 on my Starbucks card. I keep reloading it $10 each visit.
      My day was pretty good actually. Hope you have a fabulous evening 😘

    I have the same issue! I used to see a chunk of money and spend it. I'm still struggling with reverting to old habits and working on rooting them out. I started doing a zero-based budget in November and it has been a complete game-changer for my mindset. I still struggle. I did some "free-spending" last week but it's not near as bad as it used to be.

    • @debt2none
      @debt2none  8 місяців тому

      Sounds like you and I are similar. I’m glad the zero based budgeting is working well for you. Budgeting really is a game changer. I still fall back on old habits too but, like you, nothing near the damage I did prebudgeting days. 😆

    Hello Kim, great job on getting things together. So nice that you are honest about everything. I have had the same reaction about credit cards. They are just to easy to rack up. They aren't worth it, we are getting rid of every single one. If we don't have the cash, we don't need it.

    • @debt2none
      @debt2none  8 місяців тому

      You’re getting rid of all your credit cards? That’s huge. Credit cards can be the biggest trap so I understand your decision. I’m with you, if I don’t have the funds, I just wait until I do. I’m so over the debt game

    I really like your idea of taking excess funds and putting it into saving, I also try to keep close to the bare minimum in my checking account. Did you opt out of including your homeowner's insurance with your escrowed mortgage? Do you think you would be able to recoup the cost of the home improvement projects with the sale of the home, and would you be comfortable going into short term debt in that case?

    • @debt2none
      @debt2none  8 місяців тому

      Thank you!! I pulled my homeowners insurance out of escrow last year. Yes, I do think I’ll recoup the cost of the home improvements at closing. I think I can keep the cost within $20K. I’m going to save as much as I can. However I was thinking of using a 0% interest balance transfer check from one of my creditors for half the cost. Then just pay it off when I sell.

      Oh wow, yes I hear you. The cost of living is insane! I hate that it caused you to go in debt but I know can climb out if you stay focused on it. Now that the interest rates are falling it’s a good time to request lower interest rates from your creditors. I’ve done that a few times. I wish you all the best in your debt payoff journey ❤️
