Rewatching this scene again following today's news of Robbie Coltrane's passing make this scene even more emotional to watch especially since we grew up with his portrayal as Hagrid in all 8 Harry Potter films and his passing happened one month shy from the 20th Anniversary of the release of _Chamber of Secrets._ RIP Robbie, Hogwarts won't be the same without him, but now Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid) is reunited with the other actors who played the following Hogwarts Professors/Teachers: Richard Harris (Dumbledore in the first two films) and Alan Rickman (Severus Snape).
Welp. This scene hits 10x as hard now. These movies are honestly so close to me, and Hagrid was always one of the warmest souls in the books and movies. Godspeed Mr. Coltrane

Sadly, he had lost his wife and daughter the year prior in a car accident. He missed half that year for grieving but came back my senior year and brought smiles to all our faces with his amazing positive attitude and funny jokes. He was the nicest teacher and literally the whole school loved him. When he won the award, we played the music from the end of this clip for him as everyone cheered for him. That's all...it's just a memory i like to share because this scene always reminds me of that moment.

This scene is taking on new meaning today. My favorite Harry Potter character, and he looked and was played exactly as I pictured him. This world doesn’t have much magic left in it, and the passing of Robbie Coltrane means there’s even less now. RIP

One thing I noticed about this scene Slytherins like me always have a bad rap, But if you notice only Draco and his cronies stay sitting but the rest of Slytherin house is standing and cheering for Hagrid. It just goes to show you really can't judge a book by its cover.
Let's just all collectively agree that the syltherins in real life are not bad. Rowling just made every Slytherin (Except Andromeda, Regulus, and maybe Slughorn) bad and racist in the books which is not so in real life - A fellow Gryffindor ❤️
I don't think Slytherin is bad itself. A few rotten apples shouldn't define the rest of them. And I honestly don't think Draco was well liked in that house. He was arrogant, brash, cruel and a bully. He always boasted about his connections and himself. Who would actually like a guy like THAT?
Shame we gradually saw less of Hagrid as the films progressed. Truly one of film and literature's most heartwarming characters that typifies the gentle giant stereotype. I'm sure Robin Williams would've bought the same level of charm to the character but Robbie Coltrane was just perfect!

Goodbye you legend. It sure ain’t Hogwarts without you.
Same here mate.
"there's no Hogwarts without you hagrid." Damn straight. RIP robbie
The first two movie endings were all focused on Hagrid. These scenes hit differently now considering the big man himself Robbie Coltrane is gone. RIP Robbie Coltrane, a perfect Hagrid.
FINALLY MADAM PHOMFRY AND PROFESSER SPROUT GET THE ATTENTION THEY DESERVE
Ikr! Madam Pomphrey is like the best ever!!
omg I love them
Madam Pomphrey is the best
And Dumbledore calls her Poppy. I love their interaction
RIP Robbie Coltrane I bet there wasn’t one Harry Potter fan that didn’t adore Hagrid we will never forget you 😭💔
Had to come here after hearing about Robbie Coltrane’s passing. He was perfect as Hagrid and is such an important figure in this franchise. RIP Robbie Coltrane
I have to say, looking back at this, the theme, the spirit. The ending of this. It really impacts its magic and presents itself with heart. Thank you for this so much. RIP Robbie. You made our childhood, and will will never forget you. ❤
The music plus the zoom into Richard Harris. Makes it even sadder. We miss you our Dumbledore. 😍
I watched this yesterday only for Robbie to leave us 24 hours later. RIP Robbie Coltrane, thank you for being Hagrid ❤
Harry's line for Hagrid really makes me very emotional. Thank you sir Robbie for amazing memories in Harry Potter. Rest in power.
Wands up! 😢
🪄
This hits different now with Robbie Coltrane's passing. Rest in peace Mr. Coltrane ❤
This movie honestly scared me as a kid, but the ending warmed my heart
Hagrid deserves a standing ovation on a daily basis
There's no Hogwarts without you Robbie Coltrane. Rest in peace.
‘There’s no Hogwarts without you, Hagrid.’ 💔 It’s a long shot, but I really hope this scene is played at Robbie Coltrane’s funeral; a standing ovation not just for Hagrid but for Robbie’s life and career well lived. ❤ RIP Robbie; the one and and only Hagrid.
Just think about it he'd been accused of the same crime for the past 50 years this scene is more than just his return it's that his innocence is finally proven after so long
Rest in peace Robbie Coltrane 😢 Hogwarts won’t be the same without Hagrid 😢
IMO this is the greatest ending of any of the 8 films. Simply magical.
For real!
IMO, alongside the last film (19 years later). It is simply magical and memorable. Also the end of my childhood era
,,There‘s no Hogwarts without you Hagrid“
We raise our wands for you❤️🪄🥺
One of the best scenes in the series honestly. While not in the books, I think it’s one of the few additions the films do that’s better than the books
RiP to Robbie Coltrane. There really is no Hogwarts without him
Agreed sad Columbus didn’t return after this movie
@@almighty5839 It almost seems like all the actors aren't applausing just Hagrid in this scene... But also Columbus. He's a great director and he did a very good job on the first couple films.
@@almighty5839 Chris actually was considering returning for Goblet of Fire, but his family wanted to go back home to America and see their friends again. And he also wanted to return for Deathly Hallows, but the job went to David Yates.
The only scene I loved from movie
