gotten all my tattoos by this one girl purely because she encourages every choice and helps me when im undecided. find a tattoo artist you trust is all i can say
I stood up to my most recent artist and he did first sketch up... I had him erase everything and do it again with more specific details... my pickiness paid off because it's honestly my favorite tattoo ❤
my time working in a tattoo studio has taught me that you should NEVER be afraid to set your boundaries with an artist! i was fortunate to work with two really amazing and compassionate artists, but that also meant we heard a LOT of stories from clients that had been treated poorly and felt like they couldn't speak up. even if you're MID TATTOO, you can ALWAYS say stop. ❤
If any artist that touches your body says that kind of thing, be it tattoo or hair or makeup etc, get up and walk. Now, if they are advocating for you ("that colour might not look good on you/your hair can't handle that and here's why" or "having a tattoo like this has this history" etc) that's very different, but you as the canvas ALWAYS have the last say. Signed, a hairstylist who always advocated for her clients.
it's not meaningless it's a constant reminder to yourself to stick to your choices instead of letting a judgmental tattoo artist shaming you into getting something else
A good artist could turn these into flowers easily. If you don't like them still, that's an option! Luckily since they're not bold heavy lines, and it's a relatively simple tattoo, covering it up with flowers would be done quite simply. ❤
One thing you should know is NEVER let a tattoo artist second guess your option. If you chose a tattoo and they judge or try to change it for you instantly leave. They sneaky and they'll try to change it up mid tattoo and go "oh I thought this was a cool little detail"
Yeah that’s what happened with mine. I ended up giving in and then finding out after-the-fact that he messed up and that’s why he kept pressuring me to change it. Oh well. Not like I’m gonna pay to get that part removed so it’s whatever
Stay firm with your decisions unless the artist has a valid reason behind their critique of placement or design. I have no clue why they would suggest you get something that you didn’t even ask for ☹️
A bad artist will not respect your choice. I have tattoos on my inner arms that a lot of artists deem are "facing the wrong direction". I get what I want because im living with them
I've seen many people say things like "it's supposed to be the other way around" or things like that like, dude, if u want to see my tattoo I'll see my tattoo, I'm the one getting it and seeing it for the rest of my life
just a reminder tattoos don’t have to have a special deep meaning related to the things depicted in them to be tattoos! they can just be fun things to remember an event in your life so even if cherries in general have no significance to you, the experience which you gained that tattoo from could! it could be a daily reminder to not care what people think and instead go with what feels right for you (if u do want a meaning to the tattoo that is). you can always get the flower somewhere else
If a tattoo artist judges where you want the placement obviously not when it comes to how the tattoo will stretch then you need to run. Don’t WALK just RUN!
The thing about tattoos is, they dont have to have this super deep back story. Tattoos are (but not just) for personal expression so if somebody asks why just say "bc i wanted to"
they didnt “dictate” they literaly just asked where she wanted it and if it was a good idea to put it on her hand and she started freaking out grow a backbone and stop blaming others for your own bad choices because you couldnt figure out what you wanted
@@kabcm.14If the tattoo artist said it in a judging tone like she did, then he was completely judging her and her choices. This is a form of guilting someone out of it, especially those with low confidence. If it's a spot that won't go that well, a good artist will explain why and talk to you about where else you would like it. He wasn't being professional
I think a possible reason he said “you want it there” is because the flower seems to have a bit more detail and more intricate - hand/near hand tattoos don’t last as long than other body parts. I’ve had this similar situation on my feet and I just said do it anyways. The cherry looks like such an easy cover up if you’d ever like to do so.
Well there’s also the fact that as a professional he has to take into account how a tattoo is going to look and wear down and even apply to a specific area on the body in the long run. There was probably an issue with the placement and the way the flower would have to be applied. He wasn’t being needlessly judgmental, he was being professional judgmental which is his job. Yes, he probably could have explained better, but to be fair, she could have also asked. 🫤
He probably didn’t even have a negative tone and was just making sure she was certain about getting a highly visible hand tattoo of fine line work that is going to fade badly
I mean this in the nicest way possible. No one cares why you got cherries tattooed on you and nobody is judging you for it. They’re cute and that’s it.
Getting any kind of flash/spontaneous tattoo is a riskier move for regret than a planned one - now factor in that it’s on your hand. It was a bold move from the start regardless of the design picked. Though of course impulsively going against what you originally picked for yourself did increase risk of dissatisfaction even more
Just for everyone who's planning on getting a tattoo: THEY ARE PERMANENT. I know that seems obvious, like duh, but do not get one on the spot or let yourself be talked into getting one. You want something you will love for the rest of your life, so do not be afraid to turn the artist down or say stop. Coming from someone who hates a part of their tattoo because they were afraid to say stop. It's YOUR tattoo and it's PERMANENT. Just keep that in mind!
@@trishafilm Mine isn't so bad I need to get lasered, but he ruined my favorite part because I didn't explain enough and when he went for the wrong part I didn't stop him. U should have got a flower cuz it would have been cuter with the butterfly on the other side. But I mean u do have an option to take it off right. I mean it’s ur wish cuz it would hurt when u get it right ?
Cherry (if a name for a girl) means affection and love. Say you got it when you realized that love and affection should only be to yourself and the one person you love in your life.
And a flower would be more meaningful? It’s still flash that you impulsively decided to get, if you weren’t making an impulsive and wrong decision you would not have changed your mind. All these people in the comments blaming the artist, this is a whole adult woman that’s capable of consent and is very vocal about being silly and “not being able to say no to a tattoo” 😂 are you ok?
As a tattooer this is my worst fear! We can’t always tell what you’re thinking, speak up! I know some tattooers are judgy assholes but you need to advocate for yourself! I’d much rather my client change their mind and tell me than have me work on and complete a piece that they’re not happy with
How can you be a people pleaser when it comes to something that will permanently be on your body? You gotta speak up and advocate for what you want girl!
I work in a tattoo salon and you would be surprise how many artist are so rude, making people feel bad for changing the tattoo placement or asking for a slight change in the design. I know some that just straight up call clients annoying and that they don't know what they really want wich really upset me. Pick ur artist wisely and make sure you feel respected !
I had a walk in yesterday where I got my first tattoo and the artist was a SAINT! I’m definitely going to go back to her for my second tattoo because she didn’t judge me for what I wanted, she was SUPER sweet about EVERYTHING, and did and overall amazing job! I hope more artists out there stop telling people where and where they don’t want a tattoo! Research is important and always find an artist you can trust!
Always speak up. Specially being on something that is forever. Don't let anyone even a professional tattoo artist make you question what you want. It's ok to hear their opinion but don't let them change your mind for you. Even if it seems like the weirdest or craziest or even ugliest thing to them, it's not their taste or body or tattoo, it's yours. On my first tattoo I told the artist I wanted it small. I had to make him shrink my art like 4 times and I know I got on his nerves but it's my money, my body, my tattoo. He kept telling me "you know the price will be the same right? Even if you go smaller the price won't get smaller." I knew this and price had nothing to do with it. It was the proportion of the tattoo size to my body and body part. Lol I'm a small person and it just didn't look right to me to have a huge piece on the back of my shoulder (it was literally just an outlined sun and moon, no color, no shading. It needed to be petite.). Luckily he did what I asked and I ended up leaving happy.
It's not meaningless at all; it represents your spontaneity while also serving as a reminder of respecting your own boundaries and being assertive about your needs!
To be a people pleaser to this extent can’t be healthy for anybody you literally sacrificed your own skin for some stranger you will never see again, honestly I’m heartbroken for you 😔💔
like others are saying, don’t let an artist talk you out of something like it’s your body after all. I think the cherries are super cute! and tattoos don’t necessarily have to have some deep meaning, having little “in the moment” tattoos are great , I have three !
Fine lines on the hand can blow out. Luckily for you hand tats fade drastically. So in a few years itll be faded enough to laser cheaply if you even need to
its not meaningless its like a reminder that it was a mistake that you’ll never make again! It’ll remind you to stay unique and not always stick to the crowd!
Don't do flash. Go in with a plan, what means a lot to you, typically what means something to you won't be up on a wall for you to easily select. If something meaningful is available via flash, count yourself lucky but know that many others have the same exact tattoo though too.
Tattoos dont have to have to be meaningful...It can be if you want! But it doesn't need to be. But also, Im sorry that happened. That tattoo artist is a bad one. If someone asks for something, you dont say anything unless its not what the artist is comfortable with, or if its something they think you will regret getting the tattoo (not the placement, the tattoo) in a few years. Even then, usually, tattoo artists ask "are you sure" if its a dumb tattoo and/or if you're younger
The flowers would have been cute right there! Don’t let others make you question your own self and intuition!

DONT EVER let your artist talk you out of your choice. If they can’t give positive suggestions they aren’t an artist that should be tattooing you
Exactly the only time an artist should talk you out of your choice is if the location might be a health or safety issue
"I couldn't say no" ...... um ......
The one and only time I had an tattoo artist talk me out of something was the placement he said that on the hand well it was where my hand and wrist met the skin is constantly bending that it would look good for a few years than the lines would like start to blur out and I totally see that happening now with another tattoo I have
Sissss ❤
”Don’t ever” - that’s simply not true. In most cases you should absolutley listen to your artist when they try to make you reconsider stuff
You can ABSOLUTELY tell them to stop. This is forever. After they’re done they forget about you while you have to live with it FOREVER. You don’t want to speak up to your hairdresser or nail tech fine whatever, that’s not forever , but a TATTOO artist, you better SPEAK UP no matter how intimidating they may look
yeah lets say half way through a tattoo "ohh nah actually just erase that real quick "
@@BROKEasfFORNOW Obviously no. But like, the less they've already done, the less there is to laser off or cover up? Like, if you're lucky and regret it with only a few lines, those can be used for some other small tattoo that you actually might like.
Good thing we dont live "forever" then
you didn't have to call me out with not speaking up to my hairdresser 😔✊🏾
It’s NOT forever. Go to a dermatologist and have it lasered off.
If you do really hate it, that’s actually the easiest kind of tattoo to remove. It’ll take a few sessions since it’s so fresh but because it’s all black, the laser will remove it with ease. It might be worth looking into if you find yourself continuing to not like it.
I got two tattoos similar in size, all black, regretted them instantly. Did my first laser session and it was a piece of cake! Never looking back. Should be done in 3-5 sessions.
Plus it would be possible to go over it, it’d be kinda big, but i would think someone could do a coverup with flower(s)
@@bfso96 that would be very lucky because most tattoos, especially newer ones, will take a lot more sessions than 3-5
Girlll why not liking it? The cherry tattoo means a representation of love and passion
For an impulsive flash tattoo it’s definitely not a bad one! If that’s your worst tattoo you’re doing alright.
Upsidedowm
At least it's not one of those tattoos people get in Chinese...they think it sounds cute...but then it's something meaningless like egg fried rice...or the one someone I know got which when I translated it roughly translated to pork...they thought it mean cute...nope it was pork...on their arm...

I can be a pushover too but never when it comes to my body or permanent changes. You need to learn to say no. It’s ok to have boundaries and speak up
To anyone who is considering a tattoo in the future: If a tattoo artist mocks you, makes you doubt your choice, or anything like tha, RUN FOR THE HILLS DO NOT LET THEM PUT SOMETHING ON YOUR BODY PERMANENTLY. A GOOD Tattoo artist should make you feel comfortable no matter WHAT. They should be encouraging and offer advice at the MOST (in terms of trying to make the placement look as good as possible). If you ever feel uncomfortable, anxious, or doubtful because of a comment the tattoo artist makes, do NOT ever let the artist make you feel anything short of excited and comfortable.
yesss it's okay to say no, it's okay to take a second and take control of your stuff. Your life is yours. Whether you're people pleasing or not, You Deserve Better and you're never an ass for leading the life you want/letting people know that. never. no matter what people say, it's okay to take your time and figure things out for yourself.

Never be afraid to stand up to your artist. Not standing up to them is like ASKING to regret your tattoo.
I stood up to my most recent artist and he did first sketch up... I had him erase everything and do it again with more specific details... my pickiness paid off because it's honestly my favorite tattoo ❤
@@MyKeturah I feel this and I hate the idea were being "picky" for simply asking for what we want and will live with forever. ):
✝️i love the cross tattoo
even if it’s meaningless to you it’s still super cute!! next time, try not to let anyone influence you (i know it can be difficult)!! 💗
It ain’t cute, it looks like, one of those wannabe tattoos.
my time working in a tattoo studio has taught me that you should NEVER be afraid to set your boundaries with an artist! i was fortunate to work with two really amazing and compassionate artists, but that also meant we heard a LOT of stories from clients that had been treated poorly and felt like they couldn't speak up.
even if you're MID TATTOO, you can ALWAYS say stop. ❤
This is such an insane thought to me. Putting something on your body forever in a moment without thinking about it? Nuts.
You gonna half half a tattoo permanently
If any artist that touches your body says that kind of thing, be it tattoo or hair or makeup etc, get up and walk. Now, if they are advocating for you ("that colour might not look good on you/your hair can't handle that and here's why" or "having a tattoo like this has this history" etc) that's very different, but you as the canvas ALWAYS have the last say.
Signed, a hairstylist who always advocated for her clients.
you ever think maybe he said it based on how small she got it versus how big it was intended to be?
@@BROKEasfFORNOW any professional artists would explain that. they would not say what he said in that tone.
it's not meaningless
it's a constant reminder to yourself to stick to your choices instead of letting a judgmental tattoo artist shaming you into getting something else
They sneaky and they'll try to change it up mid tattoo and go "oh I thought this was a cool little detail"
right!!! i know they’re artists but man just stfu and give me what we agreed on
It reminds me of the tattoo artist that when the guy asked for a lion or something he added unwanted details
Yeah that’s what happened with mine. I ended up giving in and then finding out after-the-fact that he messed up and that’s why he kept pressuring me to change it. Oh well. Not like I’m gonna pay to get that part removed so it’s whatever

Weird, irrelevant flex lol, but hey- go off booboo
Yeah my aunt has a meaningless hot dog tatoo, but she also has one of her dog
The flowers would of looked so cute bc the butterfly's are on the other hand

If a tattoo artist judges where you want the placement obviously not when it comes to how the tattoo will stretch then you need to run. Don’t WALK just RUN!
he literally just double checked you nut head
The flower could be placed to fit there perfectly.
The thing about tattoos is, they dont have to have this super deep back story. Tattoos are (but not just) for personal expression so if somebody asks why just say "bc i wanted to"
Never NEVER let someone else dictate what you put on your body. Unless they are a close to you and doing it with pure intentions
they didnt “dictate” they literaly just asked where she wanted it and if it was a good idea to put it on her hand and she started freaking out
grow a backbone and stop blaming others for your own bad choices because you couldnt figure out what you wanted
Even then honestly
I feel this
@@kabcm.14If the tattoo artist said it in a judging tone like she did, then he was completely judging her and her choices. This is a form of guilting someone out of it, especially those with low confidence. If it's a spot that won't go that well, a good artist will explain why and talk to you about where else you would like it. He wasn't being professional
Unless it's Fauci😅
As a tattoo artist, it's okay to take the artists advice, but don't ever let them talk you into something you don't even like😂
No matter what it looks sooo good
I think a possible reason he said “you want it there” is because the flower seems to have a bit more detail and more intricate - hand/near hand tattoos don’t last as long than other body parts. I’ve had this similar situation on my feet and I just said do it anyways. The cherry looks like such an easy cover up if you’d ever like to do so.
If you really don't like it then you can definitely cover it up! But it does look really cute 😂❤

@@Manu.b_07 but like it was a flower meanwhile a cherry could be interpreted wrongly
Also possible this bimbo jus has zero ability to think or speak using her brain
He probably didn’t even have a negative tone and was just making sure she was certain about getting a highly visible hand tattoo of fine line work that is going to fade badly

Right? My whole arm is covered in stuff I just think looks cool. Sad she didn't get exactly what she wanted because of someone else opinion though.

I mean this in the nicest way possible. No one cares why you got cherries tattooed on you and nobody is judging you for it. They’re cute and that’s it.
Don’t let anyone let you doubt yourself!! It’s your choice even when they put you on the spot

🚩 on the tattoo artist, get the tattoo you want and don't let yourself get bullied into picking something you don't want 💓💓
the flowers would look really nice there but the cherry's do look like reallyyyy good like they look good on you x
Getting any kind of flash/spontaneous tattoo is a riskier move for regret than a planned one - now factor in that it’s on your hand. It was a bold move from the start regardless of the design picked. Though of course impulsively going against what you originally picked for yourself did increase risk of dissatisfaction even more
the flowers would have matched the butterflies perfectly 😭😭
Just for everyone who's planning on getting a tattoo: THEY ARE PERMANENT. I know that seems obvious, like duh, but do not get one on the spot or let yourself be talked into getting one. You want something you will love for the rest of your life, so do not be afraid to turn the artist down or say stop. Coming from someone who hates a part of their tattoo because they were afraid to say stop. It's YOUR tattoo and it's PERMANENT. Just keep that in mind!

Get it removed girl! You should be able to speak for yourself, don’t let people guilt trip you!❤
Honestly, if you think about it, it now has a meaning - to not let others change your mind, and do what YOU wanna do :)
All these people in the comments blaming the artist, this is a whole adult woman that’s capable of consent and is very vocal about being silly and “not being able to say no to a tattoo” 😂 are you ok?
it’s not entirely meaningless! it’s definitely a story to tell and it’s something you did on a whim while having fun :)
As a tattooer this is my worst fear! We can’t always tell what you’re thinking, speak up! I know some tattooers are judgy assholes but you need to advocate for yourself! I’d much rather my client change their mind and tell me than have me work on and complete a piece that they’re not happy with
It’s not even that she changed her mind but more that she felt pressured to change her original choice

I Love love the butterfly tattoo on your other hand! The placement is incredible, makes me want to get a tattoo there as well
It's adorable
It’s ok u look good in anything!
Its cute either of the drawings
It's not meaningless at all; it represents your spontaneity while also serving as a reminder of respecting your own boundaries and being assertive about your needs!

they still look great tho!
like others are saying, don’t let an artist talk you out of something like it’s your body after all. I think the cherries are super cute! and tattoos don’t necessarily have to have some deep meaning, having little “in the moment” tattoos are great , I have three !
The flower would have been so cute with the butterflies on the other hand 😭
Fine lines on the hand can blow out. Luckily for you hand tats fade drastically. So in a few years itll be faded enough to laser cheaply if you even need to
That’s how I feel about all my tattoos! It’s okay girl, it’s just what’s on the flesh- your heart is what matters❤️ you are beautiful!
its not meaningless its like a reminder that it was a mistake that you’ll never make again!
