I think he's literally gonna possess an enemy champ as in they lose control of their champ for a couple seconds and you use their champ to fight the rest of their team while the Ruined King is untargetable kind of like Kayn ult. This is the 200 years of game design Riot is known for

Ultimate: jump into an enemy champion (kayn style) and take control of them for __ seconds. Each enemy you defeat extends the duration by __ seconds, similar to Yi ult

Think the trailer showcased his ultimate move. Where he plunges his sword into the ground and creates a massive shockeave. The shockwave could tear the veil between the spirit wold and Runeterra unleashing a legion of undead minions.
Or just revive nearby allies
it says it's a skirmisher tho, I don't think that would fit that description that much

In my personal opinion, this look fits as it shows that he is young. In the lore, he is very obsessed with his wife which I don’t really see an old badass ruler to do (Read the lore to really get to know him)

I agree that having his enemies fight each other is going to be a big part of his kit. Obviously a charm in some way, but as far as giving an enemy taunt, I'm worried that might be too OP. It could be neat to cause an enemy to go into a rage and autoattack the nearest ally prioritizing champions within a short range (stunning the target if there's no one to attack).
Oh just like ultimate skill of Winter Wyvern, Winter's Curse.
I honestly hope he gets a drain tank style similar to old Aatrox, which would fit cause his own item is an AS based life steal item.

Man, I had submitted a concept for the 'Ruined King' way back in 2014. Wonder if any of my ideas will serve as inspiration for this 'official' take.

What was your concept ?
Passive part of the kit (either in actual passive or over an ability. If over passive control with alt, if over ability control by pressing the ability): Killing a jungle camp creates a soul like copy of it that is controllable by the ruined king. Remember when mord was able to kill dragon and use it as a minion? Think kind of like that but he is using it with various jungle creeps. (This also allows them to reuse the undead dragon model and ability.) This gives him the ability to use the creeps as barriers in jungle and staying at full health, also goes in line with the idea of being a king/jungler/skirmisher while not just being a new azir. Also it makes him more prone to being in the jungle, which is the role he is intended to be in. He should always have allies by his side, so the jungle creeps are now his allies. Perhaps holding down the button the controls them would have them release and run down the closest lane, similar to how yoricks maiden does. Either that or perhaps sacrifice them for health and/or mana back. This would open up the slot for the next jungle creep he kills to become his minion. Good micromanaging might even have him clearing quickly by doing a camp by himself and a camp with his minions. Another thing, perhaps maybe too strong, idea is that these minions would apply on hit effects, such as that of the BORK.
I think he might have some things from old mordekaiser. Idk if that would work
I hope he can play Solo also by the sounds of it if I had to Gander I would say he is like a Morde mixed with Tryn so his Q would be a rage/Morde old Q but maybe it can be recasts repeatedly like Voli's new W

5:48 I am here to give you an idea. In the trailer for the game "The Ruined King" at the very end we get revealed how does The King look like. They did this by having him emerging out of thin air from some sort of smoke or maybe even dust is more accurate. Maybe the movement ability could have something that relates to that part of the trailer. Where he turns in to dust, and then blinks or dashes, or even just moves while being invunerable, kinda like Vladimir.
Passive: The ruined king is constantly surrounded by black mist. Any champion that dies into the mist, revives as a non-dead for a while. The longer the undeads stay in the black mist the longer they last. Allied champions can control themselves attacking or casting abilities, while the enemy champs attack automatically and cast abilities randomly to the ruined king's objectives. The ruined king revives as a non-dead as well. The range of the mist increases with the level. The mist also interacts with other abilities of the ruined king.
Just an idea. English isn't my first lenguage so i hope i've explained myself well
also i'd assume that his passive would encourage him to buy botrk as it is his sword
if he plays like an Unholy Death Knight i would be extremely happy
This may be the reason why they reworked Mordekaiser's ult. As a jungler, bringing a dragon to lane would be cool and would make sense, aside from being actually broken.
Just by his design, I feel old Aatrox kit would fit him very well.

It’s all speculation so we don’t have to think to hard about it, but let try this. Instead of giving him the item or have him become stronger after buying the blade of the ruined king. Why not just give him the item affect as his passive since he already have the sword and what he already have shouldn’t give him extra stats ( Garen’s sword don’t give him extra stats).
Also the reason why I don’t want the item to be related to his passive. Because we straight up see Viktor’s passive item been removed from game so we know riot don’t want to go down that route.

why would you assume a "skirmisher" is someone who likes to fight with allies, when a skirmish is literally just a short small scale battle?
Simply, Skirmishers *are* champions that like to fight

@@xthelone yeah, but he assumed skirmsh=with an ally and that's not always the case. Skirmishes are a bit like assassins (weave in and out for short trades) mixed with fighters (go back in to keep am edge).
Skirmishers are good in 2vs2 and 1vs1, graves,lee sin and Olaf are examples, bad/normal tf but good in 1vs1

They just know people will play her support but they don't plan on doing something to make people not play her support

@@luislora8692 for everyone with common sense, the champ is ridiculously broken with the only excuse "hE iS HaRd tO PlaY" but as soon as you played a few games and get the mecanics he is almost uncounterable and he is always so fucking lame to play with or against
Passive: When you buy Blade of Ruined King your abilities get upgraded(think Viktor whith his core upgardes)
I do not belive he will summon soldiers, he is a Powerful Mage King with a sword, guess he will have skills like a Arcade Swordman Corrupted, he may summon death true, don't belive he has a dash. I belive he has a teleport in short distance, you can see he can appear from the Shadow Mist like he want, maybe he will have a Shadow Most Teleport, almost like W Senna with W Vlad doing a short Teleport like Ryze Ulti, he may have Mage skills like he is a Mage, maybe he can make the others Mad or put them with a fear that or taunt to ataque other allies, or a burst fear like Malzahar Curse and fiddle Fear... It's my Opinion

Yeah got a bit disappointed all these years having heard about the ruined king I imagined him being an older warrior badass king with like a beard and a big armor then turning out he looks like your average 20 year old depressed alcoholic dude.

I have a better theory: Who the fuck cares anymore? It's just going to be another uninspired mess of a champion with a broken kit spawned from Riot's 200 years worth of experience. The irony is that they keep pumping out champion after champion to keep the game fresh but it's become more stale than ever.
