What I love about 90s DNB vs Nows is the drums were a lot more full sounding. The drums these days are very short due to having to make room for the loud mid range bass.

Toronto was the second biggest DnB scene in the world! I remember record shopping on Yonge Street at Play De Record, Starsound, and other cool shops supporting the scene. Queen and Spadina Ave. was a Mecca!
I like a lot of music from progressive house to classicsl, jazz fusion etc but 90s dnb is one of my favourites.

Unfortunately most of the dnb played these days (at least at the events I’ve been to recently in TO ..) is not my thing at all. I love all the old school jungle/atmospheric stuff, this late 90s / 2000s tech step/ neurofunk, and most liquid. I don’t even know what the subgenre is called, but a lot of the newer dnb is just not good IMO..

It's funny, I kind of fell out of love with DnB around this time as I didnt like this harsh sound, in my mind wasnt dissimilar to dubstep sound, but after all these years I can come back & appreciate this now. Sounds a lot softer now, maybe because I know what followed. Who knows.

I hear Usual Suspects Killa Bees in there. Plus some other tracks its been 20 years since I last remember their names. I think Ed Rush & Optical Beachball was in there too.

Im pretty sure that I made this tracklist with timestamps years ago. I was huge fan of Ed Rush and Optical. The official tracklist had one track missing from the very beginning.I think the missing track was Johnny L - The Bells. So I decided to make a correct one with timestamps. I have posted it under different videos, that Ive found on youtube and elsewhere. It made its way to this video as well.

Toronto - their DnB scene used to be huge in the late 90's! Slip n' Slide, DJ Sniper, Vinyl Syndicate crew, Capital J, etc. Definitely died down since then unfortunately.
