I also did a coilover change beginning of this year, you don´t have to lower the subframe to get the coil out, I just unbolt the lower control arm where the spring sits on at the subframe (used a jack to hold it in place when I removed the bolt) then lowered the jack and the spring comes free. At my coilovers from K-Sport the hight adjustment is on top of the spring and not at the bottom because you have a fixture at the top that keeps your adjustment in place.
Please continue to make these videos. I bought a 300C 07 about year and half ago. Watched your challenger build from 5.7 internal to 6.4. I attempted the job not realizing the 5.7 (pre eagle) to 6.4 cam where different. I reinstalled everything just fine. I love my hemi more because of you. I appreciate the builds even more. Thank you bro!
Thank you, this is a really nice video and should be helpful to a lot of LX owners. My 2006 RT AWD was twice the height of your RT. Took me days to install my KW coilovers, couldn't get the rear spring out. Finally unbolted the rear subframe one side at a time to get enough clearance to remove the stock spring. It was my first time doing any kind of suspension work.
Just wanted to comment in case someone gets confused about the camber adjustment comment you made about the coil overs. LX vehicles camber can’t be adjusted with any coil over setup. You will need to purchase some aftermarket adjustable upper control arms in order to adjust camber.
Not entirely true. Most people want to go the arm route, but SPC and Eibach makes adjustable camber bushings. -4 to +4 degrees, and Mercedes actually has camber adjustable bolts for the front. We dialed in just under a degree up front, and -2 in back for just over 100.00 total. 17 300 S
I think this Magnum PI project is great! I always thought these cars were cool. That kit really changed the entire attitude of the car. I'm anxious to see what it dies with a little extra power getting thrown at it.
Any word on how the coilovers are performing? I've been looking at these for my Maggie and would love the feedback. Keep up the great work. Love the channel
My srt front bumper is a touch lower, but after having two different lowering systems on mine, I’m much happier with the rear lower than the front. Look of low without nearly as much front bumper scraping. BC on it. Very happy but looks like you got a very similar setup and looks like it should be great
+1 on the headlamp. Have a very similar one and working under the vehicle causes the same issue with the wave feature. It's very bright though which is really nice at least. I used a little super glue to fix the strip coming lose.
I'm looking for a set of adjustable coilovers on my 2016 Challenger RT, this Brand does not make some...they seems pretty soft sprung too...any comment since you're ran them now?
Haven't driven enough miles to get a hard opinion yet, but I would agree that they seem fairly soft as delivered. I'm going to crank the preload in the springs a bit and see how they do. They are definitely a budget option so don't expect them to be top notch. 👍
Just the video i needed! I got a set of BC racing custom coilovers new in box from someone who couldn't end up using them. Been looking on what kind of install process I'd have.
When you lowered the 300 you removed pivot bolts on rear lower control arms. Are the rear suspensions that different or did you have new information and thought this was better. I lowered my 300 removing pivot bolts, but I’m going to lower another one soon
Impressive you remember that! Yes, I now believe that dropping the subframe as a whole is easier in the end than disconnecting the pivot arm, especially for reassembly. In the end though it's just personal preference.
Cool Vid. I have basically the same car, but mine is all wheel drive. What would you do for brakes? I'm honestly done with factory brakes, and want to try something of better quality. Any suggestions?
Hmmm you found dropping the subframe way easier than loosening the rear control arm inside bolt ? I’m a try your way tho I’m just worried about snapping the subframe bolts
i put on kw v2 coilover on 300c 5.7 awd, i had to cut lover fork on front new absorber to be able to install it , now car is as train , no banking in corner
I agree that some of the wheel gap on many cars and trucks is not cool. That's one thing where I feel dodge/ram is an especially bad offender - the trucks have an awful lot of gap. I get it for a 4wd version, but for 2wd, I think it needs to go way down. Since you had to disconnect the upper ball joint, and also the read subframe, I think you need to get an alignment afterwards right? If I'm not mistaken, if you want to get the height perfectly matched, you want to use a set of wheel scales and either set it up neutral, or set it up neutral once the driver is in the drivers seat.
AWD at front is little different. AWD front lower has fork style mount what has to be removed. But its almost same as RWD. Rear is same on AWD and RWD.
On my 2016 challenger i had to lower my exhaust and i removed the control arms on the rear my coil over kit combined the spring and the shock like the front so i didnt have to reinstall my spring
Go get a van dipstick from a junkyard. They are long. You can hear it hit the bottom of your pan. Stick it in, Hit the bottom of the pan, Mark it on top of tube for the legnth. (31" THINK). Wipe it off bottom. Stick it in till you hear it tink the bottom of the pan. Pull dipstick out. measure how much fluid on end (like inch or so). Then Look at the temp it' is outside. Google the chart to see. do it in a 70° morning. Really Easy.
My 2006 300 srt is a lot lower than that,I wonder if the srt factory coil overs will accomplish the same. Watch for parking stops, you will damage the bumper after the drop.
The only thing that would luck on the rear is, if the captured nuts break loose and just spin. I've heard of it happening to a couple guys on old 300 forums and on a 300 page on fb. But I've had mine down and it's easy. Just do one side to a time, and you won't need a line up after.
I know it’s not related, but do you know why doorman’s intake manifold is listed only for the years 2005-06, I always thought it will fit all the way to 2009, my hemi dropped valve seat and you mention that it’s recommended to change intake manifold, doorman is half a price of mopar..

@@scico3140 not sure about a video. When the machine shop finished my heads it looked as if they used a small punch or chisel in four places in the aluminum around the steel valve seat. I guess that expands the aluminum a bit to add extra tension on the seats to help hold them in place. They also may have used some sort of lock-tite on the seats, but I cannot say for sure. You could call a local machine shop and ask them if they do that to hemi heads and if so what procedure they use.
@@kailuagarage I've pulled some heads like that and I seen chips on the valve seats next to where they punched the aluminum. Not all of them had chips but the chips were right where the aluminum was punched. I wish I had a picture to show you.
@@scico3140 interesting. Not sure what to say, but the ones that my machine shop did for me looked OK. Maybe it is not as easy as it seems to do it correctly.

I've bought most of them already but gave up on the banana shaped one because the darn bolt won't come out unless I drop the sub-frame.

I put a lot of miles on my 06 Charger, is it considered necessary to add adjustable upper control arms when lowering 2-3 inches? Will it just burn off tires?
