- This is one of my fave bands. here you will see the lead vocalist use his guitar as a violin. Just amazing. This song was use in the soundtrack of Vanilla Sky - the part when Tom Cruise was about to jump, choosing to repeat his life.

I have been searching for this song everywhere, when I heard it at the ending of vanilla sky I sobbed my heart out it moved me so much.
thats how i found Sigur Ros, rewatched Vanilla Sky and heard this song at the end and immediately googled it to find it who it was, one of my fav albums ever. Can't listen too often because it's so emotional to me. Almost brings tears of joy.
Nobody respects this movie but I thought it was so good all around

vanilla sky introduced me to this band, amazing song, the ending of the movie wouldn't have been nearly as touching without it.
Easily one of the most beautiful songs ever.
If I ever meet a human being who _isn't_ moved by this song, or so many of their other songs, then I'm sorry...I don't care how great of a person they are, but we can't be friends.
Total deal breaker.
I mean, I gotta have _some_ limits, right? And people who dislike this song....well, we have absolutely nothing in common.

great Ambient music no joke.........sooo good of a song its no wonder they are a success over here......their music itself takes you somewhere, emotion comes with what you are listening to you feel either happy, sad, smiling, crying, etc but it makes you feel the music instead of just listening to it

that was my interpretation as well, that when the character played by tom cruise jumped off the building was when he chose to exit suspended animation.
That would actually be a cool movie to make, with the possibility of sophie or tom's best friend having been suspended at some point as well, being released on cue with tom's release.

I think that was in a contest to match the words into actual ones. He is speaking gibberish (or Hopelandic) and speaks it throughout the entire album.

i heard this song has no real lyrics, but that sigur just sang gibberish that fit with the tune. there was a contest as to what the lyrics could mean, and people by just made up whaever they wanted to. this makes the song even more interetsing because it allows the listener to interpret it themselves. you can choose let this song remind of something happy, sad, depressing, or scary. the choice is up up to you, just like in the movie it was in, Vanila Sky. Good stuff.

But actually you got my point: if we can say so, the only things these two bands do have in common, is the fact that both are unique and just opened new, broad horizons into the modern music. Very special people do produce very special music, that's it! :-)
