Everything she said is true, but the point that is always left out of these discussions is that if someone commits fraud with your debit card, that money is gone from your account. Even though you’ll get it back in most cases, it’s still gone in the moment. I had that happen once-the person spent so much on my card that overdraft protection kicked in and they drained my entire savings as well. Not a fun couple of weeks waiting to get my money back with bills to pay and food and gas to buy in the meantime…THIS is why I always use a credit card and will never go back to using a debit card.
I had the same thing happen to me. Credit card for me going forward.
Exactly that is the safety of a credit card, is not your money so in case of fraud the bank is gonna move the sky to solve it. Whereas debit they can take their sweet time.
This right here is the biggest benefit of a credit card. When someone makes fraudulent charges on a credit card, the creditor merely flags the charges and removes them from your account. When someone makes fraudulent charges using your debit card, they are literally stealing actual dollars from your account. Banks are much more stingy about giving your money back than creditors are about removing fraudulent charges. The time it takes can be ridiculous too...I would rather argue about a statement charge than fight with the bank to give me actual money that was stolen from me..

The jerks at dollar car rental didn’t give us back our deposit because someone ran a red light and crashed into us. And apparently that was our fault. So be careful with the weasels.
I have used debit card most of my life it makes everything so much easier. I thought this was going to get disapproval because Dave likes cash better than debit card!
my bank gives me money back that atm fees i pay at the end of the month. put i like doing cash back at stores. sometimes its free.

If I had a credit card, then I would pay it off in full every month; however, I don't want to be in a situation where I might go into debt.

So if your traveling overseas and your debit card gets compromised then what? You have big problems if you have no cash or other forms of payment. Happened to me and I was lucky to have a friend that could cover my expenses. But is was very stressful and never would I use a debit card outside the USA. She seem like a smart young lady but taking advice from someone who only worked for her wealthy father is questionable.
I carry atleast three debit Cards. I keep two of them in the drawer, and I carry one. When I travel I carry all of them.
I disagree with about 80 Percent of this video. Stop blaming credit card companies, start blaming your poor choices
