    Inala is a must for every Vietnamese who have been in Brisbane as a visitor for a resident. Although I am a little bit dislike of the poor settings and lack of continuous renovation there as it might give a feeling of underdeveloped current Vietnam apart from brand new Saigon Plaza (which is absolutely not true), the culture aspects (including food and music) remind me of the good old days and the happiness is always best in simple forms.

    • @BrisbaneChannel
      @BrisbaneChannel  2 роки тому

      Yes, I agree that the setting isn't the nicest, but I feel in a way, that makes it even more authentic to the Vietnamese experience (although I haven't lived in VN since 2014, so things may have changed somewhat since then).

    • @chaunguyenphuc6642
      @chaunguyenphuc6642 2 роки тому +1

      @@BrisbaneChannel oh man, you cannot experience real Vietnamese feeling without the horning and dizziness caused by overwhelming motorbikes for sure. It might be controversial to define which is the authenticity of Vietnamese culture as to me, Inala’s impression is more of the old Vietnam before the civil war ended in 1975, I couldn’t point out which is really authentic as it lies in people’s heart and mind. In my perspective, Vietnam is a vibrant and tasteful place as a harmoniously irrelevant unorganised things. The shops in Inala is still pretty much neat and tidy as for Australian standard, it’s just a little underdeveloped as compared to other Vietnamtown in Australia. And for the food itself, it’s 80-90% as exact as Vietnam which is very good efforts I admit, but to me the rest 10-20% is actually the authenticity I’m longing for. Ultimately, it’s better to have something rather than nothing.

    Went to Inala for the first time a few weeks ago because I needed to get a wreath from Aldi and the only Aldi that has wreaths is the one in Inala. So I went there on a Saturday morning, big mistake, there were so many people and I could barely find a parking spot( it’s a huge parking lot but there was all full ) , encountered a bogan banging my window asking for money, so yeah , that was quite an experience. But I will definitely go back during off peak time with some mates.

    • @BrisbaneChannel
      @BrisbaneChannel  2 роки тому +2

      Funny you should say that. We were there yesterday and for the first time ever, had someone walk up to us asking for money. We were really surprised, as that's never happened in our years of frequently going to Inala. But yes, parking is crazy on Saturday, but the bad news is it can be crazy on any day of the week. It doesn't seem to follow a pattern, even on Saturday. Seems more related to other events like Lunar New Year or Christmas. The closer to festivities, the busier it gets.

    Hi, can you get some advice for places to be, coffee places for a next video (vegan, vegetarian) ? For people who are Vegan, is it easy to find things to eat ? Work related question : is it easy to find a job for foreigners ? (Barista - Restaurant maybe yes ? What about administrative works ?) Thanks for your advice!

    • @BrisbaneChannel
      @BrisbaneChannel  2 роки тому

      Hi Aurélie. I know there's a lot of options for vegans and vegetarians, and many cafes and restaurants that are not specifically vegan do have a vegan section on their menu. Not being vegan or having vegan friends, I'm not really sure of specific places, so I'd have to talk with some local vegans to get inside knowledge before making a video on it, but I did try a vegan Chinese restaurant once which was pretty good. I'll add this topic to the list.
      The current work situation is something I'll also have to look into, as Covid has affected things quite dramatically recently. As far as I know, the hospitality industry is desperately in need of more workers right now, not sure about admin work. What I do know is that interviewers don't generally discriminate based on nationality, as long as you have the same working rights as a local. It's usually just the best suited person to the job. The main issues they have employing foreign nationals is either that they're on a student visa and so can only work 20 hours a week (although that limitation is temporarily being waived at the moment, again due to Covid), or they are worried the worker will return to their country after a year or two, so they may feel local workers are more stable (which is not necessarily the case).

      @@BrisbaneChannel Thank you for all the information. If I go to Australia it's indeed for a work-holiday visa (I'm not student anymore so I think I can work all I want ?). Covid has indeed make everything difficult. I'm do not have a degree but I speak fluently three languages and hard worker haha (administrative very strong, logic mind top and hand-worker very good too)
      For the vegan , I hope you 'll find places. I'm exiting to see them and know if there are places (other then Chinese who sadly put in many sauces). Thanks a lot for your help and your videos !

      Not when you consider that it's 5.7K, but thats for the whole 360 degrees, the viewing angle you end up seeing is 1080p equivalent, but yeah, can't compare to a regular camera. The Insta360 cameras automatically remove visible traces of the selfie stick when they stitch the footage together. It's pretty cool. Would be even better if I could hold it in a way that made it seem I wasn't even holding it. I tried an attachment that lets me secure it to my body, but it bounced too much when walking, so it didn't really look any good.
