This is why fanstoys is the best. They're the only ones that make Motormaster combine with the trailer. (Although the transformation is pure suffering)

He's less a combiner and more like a giant weaponizer.
That maybe true but at least the “Combined mode” is close to animation accurate as possible.

I mean it has aspects of the G1 cartoon design represented in it, but it just doesn’t feel right in that other than the arms breaking apart to combine, the rest of the 3 parts just clip in and bobs your uncle. That’s about it. And it isn’t that fun feeling
So basically Menasor just strap all his friends around his body like South Park's Operation Human Shield.
"Are they really your friends?"
Motormaster: "Well... They're more like accessories."
The other stunticons all despise Motormaster anyway, so it's just as well.
Transformers Devastation also did it, in a way😂

It's like the team is merely accessories for a giant robot.
They should make an upgrade kit so you don't need the team to make menasor, that way you could display menasor and the team at the same time.

This is just like the old G1 time. Since G1, Menasor is the lazily-designed combiner IMO. All they did is Motormaster transforms into a big robot with skinny limbs, the other limbots just transform into vehicle modes then just slap them on the big robot, and those limbots dont seem like they were necessary at all.
Yeah that animation model was all over the place. In one scene the cars actually looked like limbs, then in the next it seemed as if MM transformed into the entire bot and the rest of the team just pegged on with no transformation to their car modes.
Also what is the point of the leg bots? They plug into the back so you can't see them. At least with the G1 version you saw the underside of them
Honestly hate toonshit Menasor, the toy design was really neat but the animators butchered it
Ahh, After all these years he's never changed, This, Future viewers from whenever in the future, is a youtuber who actually stuck to what he does best, There is not one review on his channel that does not make me laugh atleast once whether it be a skit at the end or one of his jokes!

For my opinion Emgo is the best reviewer out in the field. His reviews are always so clear and easy to follow. And for this figure you can better paint his eyes because it look so much better then the light feature. Without the light the eyes are dead.

@@ultramag0343 the proportions on the XTB look stupid to me , sure the Dx9 doesn’t look high end but it’s a much better value for your money figure than XTB . If you want high end premium go Fanstoys and skip XTB

So the play pattern has gone from "Scramble City Gestalt" to "Powermaster Prime with Battle Masters (but without the little Powermaster dude)"...? It feels like you could just have all the limb-bots in robot mode and have them stand there with their tall, skinny friend who can reach stuff down from high shelves for them.

Pretty much. Easily my least favourite scramble city gestalt purely because of how boring his combination is.
Bruticus is my fav scramble city combiner.

@A guy with an anime Profile Pic Because I can I had the G1 toy, so that's what I was referring to. My son has the Combiner Wars one and it's not that good either. Not the worst out of the modern combiners (Volcanicus), but they could have done better.

I got this today and knew exactly where to go so I wouldn't mess anything up. They seemed to address the ratchet problem in the thighs. Mine was nowhere near as tight. I didn't have time to get him completed combined before having to go to work, so I don't know about Breakdown's connection port yet. Ty for the videos. I love your channel.
It took me seeing the combined mode to get on board with this set. i dig it
I bought the adapter piece for Wildrider and it makes a huge difference. He is locked on very very securely now. And thank you so much for the advice on the hips!!

This is the review I’ve been waiting for all my life.
I understand that this is G1 accurate, but I think that best combiners were the ones that made the boys the actual limbs, not just sticking cars on arms and legs and shoving the leader in the middle. It is like why, instead of having 5 bots that transform and a giant bot that doesn't. I maybe dumb but doesn't six bots fighting seem like a better tactic?
For those that love collecting g1 toon accurate bots, he looks great! That being said, you really can't complain about the design. I've personally never been a fan of it. The only area I find a serious issue with is that given the price. They could have given you a complete Menasor with hollow bots to combine with Motormasters trailer. This way you could display both the complete form and individual bots.
Finally got all of my DX9 stunticons. Feels like a decade. Took forever for DX9 to reissue these. Im totally happy and satisfied.
Prime exposed the one weakness of all combiners in a matter of seconds

The dichotomy between cartoon Menasor and toy Menasor will never not be jarring.

The fact that Emgo was able to break this figure should tell you how hard those ratchets must to have been he is probably the most cautious reviewers that we have i stop the video and rewatch the Motormaster review and that break look ugly no wonder Prime was able to take him down with one punch what kind of glue did you use

He's a tard for forcing it. A few drops of oil in the leg ratchets is all they need to move smoothly
So the only thing that actually transforms is part of the trailer? Leg bots just hide behind the trailer shins, motor master hides inside, and the arm bots get ripped in half and stuck on to what's left of the trailer. Got it. Hooray toon accurate shell formers.
The cosmic rust bug is by far what I like best about this set. That's pretty cool.

The adapter piece for Henry (Wildrider) to connect better is almost a must have in my opinion. How were you able to glue that back together? That's crazy. I have a couple of pieces that have snapped off of figures (Grapple's arm cannon) and I just can't get it to stay on with krazy glue. Maybe I'm not holding it in place enough, but i've never been able to fix figures with the stuff. Great review btw. Also, FYI, Fans Toys has said that they are releasing the combiner parts with there Dead End.
This version is growing on me.

Not much a combiner but rather attaching them to a giant robot. :/ Although there is not much you can do with a robot such as Menasor who's really just cars attached to a giant body.

I was gonna say, "aren't the leg bots supposed to connect to the FRONT of the legs, and not the back?" But in the original show they're actually the BACK of his legs. Kind of a bad deal for the poor leg-bots, I pity them. :(
Also, this Menasor doesn't have his "special power", i.e. the guns on the lower part of his forearms as shown in the episode "Masquerade". ZERO OUT OF TEN!!! :P

My Menasor! I love him so much. Man, for dragstrip: you are doing something wrong if you cannot close the engine/head/cockpit section.
Do you have the FansHobby Armada Optimus in the works? If you've already got it on the way are you worried about the parts stressing and cracking, mine so far has had all the issues everyone else has reported.

As for the hips: the issue can be avoided using a screwdriver w/o open the rachtes: just use the screwdriver of your trusted plastic tool to move the black pins inside the grey piece. Doing this once or twice solved the issue. Once in combined mode the joint works w/o problems. Maybe is just mine copy, idk, but opens a ratchet is way more difficult, especially in the reassembly phase than play with the gear externally. Enjoy this awesome, awesome, figure. It's fun, it's imposing, it work in every mode and for the "longest trailer ever"... I work in Port facilities and I saw more stupid longer real life trailer than this one. So, peaple, stop complaining for stupid stuff.

at least with TFM Havoc (yes, a IDW version) the rest of the mates were transformed to be the limbs and then attach the rest of the stuff...

For some reason Constructor looks really different than I remembered.
