I feel like such an idiot after watching this. Iam so glad I stumbled upon your video because I had been thinking about making my dog a fake service dog outfit so I could bring him everywhere with me and iam so glad I saw your video before I did. I never realized how it effects real service dogs. I always thought as long as my dog stays at my side and doesn't bark or run or pee and is well behaved enough to pass as a service dog it wouldn't hurt anyone. I literally watched this and just sat here after trying to get my head around how I could have been so so nieve, selfish, and stupid at this age in my life. Anyways, your video really opened my eyes and changed the way I think about REAL service dogs. I have a whole new respect and admiration for both dog and owner. Thank you for posting these videos.

It takes a lot to realize fault in ones thinking and even more to learn from something that so completely challenges ones thoughts on a subject.

      Thank you for learning. 🤗
At my local shopping centre there was a big incident that I reported. One was a fake in a buggy. Another was a man kicking his tiny puppy for no reason. Ever since every time I go in there the tannoy repeatedly states that if a pet dog is in the store the customer (s) with the dog will have to leave.
There was a genuine service dog in the shopping centre and I had to tell the children nearby: that’s a service dog and you are distracting the dog by staring and running up.
Thanks for watching, learning and owning stuff. Some people refuse to learn so your attitude is refreshing. 🤗

for anyone defending the Karen, saying things like “oh well it was in a stroller, your dog should’ve been able to ignore it” or saying that the person with the service dog was not handling the situation correctly, I hope you know you’re ableist. it is a federal law and Walmart policy that non-service dogs are not allowed to be in there. distracting or harming a service dog can not only put the dog in danger, but also their owner. no non-trained service dogs are allowed in public places (even esa’s). if the woman absolutely had to bring the dogs with her, she should’ve stayed in her car with them. bringing fake service dogs (that in this case were not even pretending to be service dogs) inside of stores is harmful, dumb, and ableist.

(not mad btw, capitals for emphasis not in anger)

    • @gaybatgosqueak
      @gaybatgosqueak 3 роки тому +8

@@rhys2570 Not really. The issue is that esa's aren't seen as important compared to sa's because the mental and emotional well being if a person isn't regarded as important as a physical disability. I have PTSD and panic attacks can be unpredictable and I've almost passed out before. I see no legitimate reason as to why an esa that can prevent that, should be treated any different from an sa. And irregardless of that, my personal opinion is if an sa animal is allowed in a place (like a general store) then any well behaved animal should be, so long as they are not dangerous and or problematic. If they are then they should leave the premise. I believe this should apply to customers as well lol

      Wal-Mart is non pet friendly.
      Here is some info.
This part copied from Wal-Mart corporate page:
Walmart welcomes service animals as defined by the ADA in our stores, and we recognize the important role they play in many of our customers' lives. We do not allow pets in our stores.
Can I put my puppy or dog in a stroller and take it into a Walmart store?
No, you cannot take your dog in a stroller into a Walmart store. Only service dogs are allowed in the store, and a service dog should not be in a stroller.
Can I carry my dog in Walmart?
No, you cannot carry your dog in a Walmart store. Walmart policy only allows service dogs in the store, and they are not to be carried.
      What the ADA says:
Outside of trained and necessary task work, there should be NO other vocalization, including, but not limited to, whining, grumbling, wooing, barking, growling, whimpering or other noise. Unless working, Service Dogs should be seen by the public and not heard.
Business owners and staff have the right to remove a service dog that is aggressive, growling, snarling, and of course, biting. Business owners also have the right to remove a service dog if it is disruptive by barking repeatedly, wandering around and/or bothering other customers.
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, it's a federal crime to use a fake dog. It's a felony punishable by fine and jail time.
Every time someone fakes a service dog, it puts the work of real service dogs in jeopardy. Trained service dogs provide assistance in everyday life to those who need it. The consequences are not just limited to a hostess asking your bouncy dog to stop putting his paws on someone else’s table. You and your dog’s actions, no matter how benign, will have impact on the people around you, and one misstep can cause people to believe that all service dogs are just over-glorified pets.
Also a fake service dog can distract a real service dig and cause them to miss a medical alert that could injure or kill the owner. Which would cause the fakea owner to be arressted for attempted manslaughter.

Dude please educate yourself for one there are two legal questions you can ask any service animal.
      1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?
      2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
Which she did ask and the failed to answer.
The lady with the growling dogs were faking them beung service dogs. Service digs do not act like that.
The service animal must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered while in public places unless these devices interfere with the service animal's work or the person's disability prevents use of these devices. In that case, the person must use voice, signal, or other effective means to maintain control of the animal.

You were the aggressor and the people shouldn't have lied to say they were service dogs but were just deflecting more or less your over the top attack on them. You could have simply and quietly told a manager and stayed out of it all but then again that doesn't make for a very exciting video. If your purpose was to train your dog and get a rain coat that you had no issue with just taking apart from its packaging and putting on your dog by the way before purchasing then the amount of energy and yelling you did wouldn't have been wasted instead of just training your dog. While not as bad as those other dogs, your dog needs a lot more training before doing PA work/training. You should at least have the basics down with good focus and you seem to be struggling with that. Your dog is way too distracted and focusing too much on everything else to be able to task effectively. There's no shame in taking a step back and ironing out training kinks before continuing to set your dog up to fail.

They preform life saving tasks or a task that there handler can not do them self such as ( guide, medical alert, mobility, fetching, getting help exct) emotional support is not a task by the ADA law.
Service animals can not be registered, certified, or have ID with in the USA. Laws and rules out side the US varies. State laws do not override the federal law however may grant a SDIT public access however it does not mean they are covered by the ADA. No dog is infallible and no amount of training can make a dog completely impervious to any and all possible distractions.
Untrained emotional support dogs / pets brought into places they do not belong don’t just attack people. They attack highly trained service dogs, as well, sometimes ending their working lives. And most stores do NOTHING unless you take a firm stand.
      One such case:
With so many selfish, irresponsible pet owners labeling their ordinary pet dogs as so-called emotional support animals just to treat them like fur children and take them everywhere they go, this was bound to happen.
Frank Bicking of Thorofare, NJ was with his service dog Beauty at a mall when his dog was suddenly attacked by two dogs belonging to a man who ran a kiosk. That man claimed them to be emotional support dogs. The unleashed dogs set in on Beauty biting her back leg then one began biting at her belly, according to Bicking. He said he had to use his cane to get the dogs off his service animal, which is trained to never show aggression even under these circumstances of being attacked and in pain. True to it’s training, it never fought back; it just took it.
People bringing it aggressive pets like that too almost cost a 3 year old little girl her life due to having her face ripped up by one because the restaurant refused to kick the woman with her aggressive fake from the store.
She is trying to assure that the business takes responsibility and do as they are supposed to before someone GETS HURT.

While I do understand why you were upset, the owners quite frankly should not have had their dogs with them, but I can't completely side with your childish behavior. Literally dropping the item you took out of its packaging in the middle of the floor, following them around the entire store, yelling questions at them you know shouldn't be asked because you would be offended if someone asked YOU, hounding the store managers to practically force them out. It seemed more like you were fishing for UA-cam drama to bump up the views, which made this entire video hard to watch. Again, I understand why you were upset and outspoken but your actions reflected immaturity and pettiness. If you took a moment to calmly educate them instead of attacking them, they might have been more accepting and may have taken your concerns seriously.

Please educateate yourself those dogs pose a risk of DISTRACTING her MEDICAL ALERT SERVICE DOG.
The woman with the stroller not only was breaking Wal-Mart policy but also the ADA law.
Number one Wal-Mart Policy. Walmart is not pet friendly
      Number two Law
Outside of trained and necessary task work, there should be NO other vocalization, including, but not limited to, whining, grumbling, wooing, barking, growling, whimpering or other noise. Unless working, Service Dogs should be seen by the public and not heard.
Business owners and staff are obligated to remove a fake service difs, pets and even service dogs that are aggressive, growling, snarling, and of course, biting. Business owners also have the right to remove a service dog if it is disruptive by barking repeatedly, wandering around and/or bothering other customers.
Also a fake service dog can distract a real service dog and cause them to miss a medical alert that could injure or kill the owner. Which would cause the fake owner to be arressted for attempted manslaughter.

What is a service dog? Why do they only have public access?
According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, "service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities." The dog must not be a pet, but be specially trained to assist the handler with something directly related to his or her disability.
Under the ADA, service dogs cannot be denied entrance to businesses, even food service establishments, state and local government facilities or nonprofit organizations that serve the public.

      1. Most pets aren't properly trained to be in public, can lead to someone or the animal getting hurt.
      2. Health code violations
      3. Can distract a actual service animal and make them miss an alert leading to a possible hospital trip for the handler.
I agree that she should have talked to the manger and showed them who it was but done nothing more like approaching or talking. Her dog seems to be over stimulated or distracted already and adding in growling dogs, and possible hostile people is a no go.

Explaining to the person, reporting it to the manager, even showing the manager the video are all fine. But following the person around harassing them is wrong in my opinion, especially when you have an 'in training' dog yourself. If the service dog was fully trained and was completely ignoring distractions, then you might say a little more. But even then, you don't harass people.
That is the main thing I see in these videos that bothers me, people with service dogs harassing people. Granted, it may be wrong, it could possibly cause a problem, but instead of harassing the people, report them to management and then avoid them as much as possible.
I'm not saying the pets in there are right by any means, but I feel things can be handled better than what I see in a lot of the videos.

On January 30, 2012, a six-year-old boy was killed at Fort Campbell in Oak Grove, Tennessee, by a German Shepherd medical service dog. Three months later, on April 27, 2012, Jeremiah Eskew-Shahan (age 1) was killed by his grandmother's emotional support dog" in Henderson, Nevada. Six months after that, a three-month-old girl named Dixie Jennings was mauled to death in Yadkinville, North Carolina, by a Rottweiler which was being trained as a service dog. One year later, on October 24, 2014, another Rottweiler in training as a service dog killed Logan T Meyer (age 7) in Hustiford, Wisconsin. On May 24, 2015, a Rottweiler killed 26-year-old Anthony Wind in Rochester, New York; he suffered from seizures for years because of brain trauma, and the dog allegedly assisted him when he had those seizures. 2) I think you're less right about seeking out the distractions to your service animal, as that really mangles your message and puts your life (and your dog's had these dogs not been in a buggie) at risk. It's not setting a good example.
    3) Your attitude, like hers, lacks any type of human understanding or respect, especially towards the end when you mock her possible reasons for bringing her animals with her in a public place.....so it's really hard to root for you
    4) The way someone is confronted dictates their response and how they receive the information you're giving them....and you obviously did this in a way that will simply have the woman defensive and not learn anything she should, and she'll just walk out with a negative impression of some young brat bothering her at the store and filming her for social media. She won't respect you or your message and will 100% do it again.

if you do not have a service animal, you have no right to tell someone that does how to control these types of situations. it is a part of Walmart’s policy that you cannot bring a non-service animal inside, and those people are breaking that rule. it doesn’t matter what excuses they come up with, their dogs are in no way shape or form more important than a service animal. the dog is there to protect their owner’s life, and being distracted by an untrained dog can cost their life. the dog shouldn’t have been in there, the woman and man shouldn’t have brought them in, and you should not be trying to “educate” someone with a service animal.

Aside from that, her dialog with the individual is the least constructive or helpful I've ever seen - unsurprisingly, they did not get a good result, and they did not help that woman understand how what she was doing is wrong. Educate yourself before speaking. Those other dogs were not service dogs and by law had no right to be there they posed a risk to her safety and well-being.
It's not about clout she is trying to assure that the business takes responsibility and do as they are supposed to before someone GETS HURT.

Do you know how many people have had there service dogs attacked and the disabled owbers hurt or died from the encounter. Myself as well has been in a coma due to my own service dog being attacled and missing a medical alert
The woman in the video service dog paws has nearly died her own srvice dog being attacked.
And no it would not distract the dog and she miss an alert if the panic and angst was coming from her own owner because as stayed its her owner.. Mya is phyicatric alert and response and mecical alert and reaponse. They can not get distracted from their own job by their owner in a panic attaco it dies our work like that. They are intune to the scent and anxitey of their owner.
The woman with a stroller is wrong. She legally can not have her pets in the store. She also claimed those dogs couod be her srrvice digs um no they could not.
One they can't be in a stroller for paws on the floor or the dog in your arms.
      Number two they were growling.
Outside of trained and necessary task work, there should be NO other vocalization, including, but not limited to, whining, grumbling, wooing, barking, growling, whimpering or other noise. Unless working, Service Dogs should be seen by the public and not heard.
Business owners and staff are obligated by law to remove a pet which should not be there more so if agessive and even a service dog that is aggressive, growling, snarling, and of course, biting. Business owners also have the right to remove a service dog if it is disruptive by barking repeatedly, wandering around and/or bothering other customers.
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, it's a federal crime to miss represent a pet as a service dog.

    • @fantasygirlstudio4659
      @fantasygirlstudio4659 3 роки тому

      Please also read explains more:
Also to add due to people like the woman with the stroller. Fake service dogs have disfigured at least six people and killed five since 2012. On January 30, 2012, a six-year-old boy was killed at Fort Campbell in Oak Grove, Tennessee, by a German Shepherd medical service dog. Three months later, on April 27, 2012, Jeremiah Eskew-Shahan (age 1) was killed by his grandmother's "ESA" in Henderson, Nevada. Prior to 2012, there were no previous disfiguring or fatal attacks by service dogs on record.
Another example of abuse pertains to so-called" ESA." While a service dog directly assists its handicapped owner by performing a task, a therapy dog in the hands of a non-handicapped owner merely provides emotional support or companionship. The federal rule, set forth below, specifically excludes "emotional support dogs" from the definition of "service animals."

You have a dog in training, and you are the one that follows, harass, abuse, are disrespectful and get yourself wound up, all putting your feelings onto your dog in training. Unnecessary stimulation, your stress is being picked up and since this is a continuous theme of yours, it isn't helping your dog at all. You claim you have PTSD and anxiety, so why are you putting yourself in these situations, intentionally, which are huge triggers. Why couldn't you just go and let the staff or manager know and let them deal with it? Why disrupt your training, and create triggers for yourself, all the while filming?

The woman with the stroller was breaking federal law and the store was letting her.
Wal-Mart is notorious for not upholfing the ADA laws or doing ANYTHING about fake dogs until someone gets hurt.
The youtuber Service Dog Paws litterly had to put herself in harms way just to get the manager make them obey corprate policy but also THE LAW.
There have been many service dog teams injured disabled people hurt NEARLY KILLED by people bringing pets that are agessive and Wal-Mart shutting a blind eye until someone got hurt.
In another place just like this there was a six year old girl whose face got mauled do to a manager and the workers doing NOTHING when a wonan brought in a clearly untrained "service dog into their place of employment.
      Wal-Mart corpetate page says:
Walmart welcomes service animals as defined by the ADA in our stores, and we recognize the important role they play in many of our customers' lives. We do not allow pets in our stores.
Can I put my puppy or dog in a stroller and take it into a Walmart store?
No, you cannot take your dog in a stroller into a Walmart store. Only service dogs are allowed in the store, and a service dog should not be in a stroller.
Can I carry my dog in Walmart?
No, you cannot carry your dog in a Walmart store. Walmart policy only allows service dogs in the store, and they are not to be carried.
      Ada Law says:
Only service animals have public access right. Service animals are dogs or mini horses that have public access rights and are protect by the ADA law. They preform life saving tasks or a task that there handler can not do them self such as ( guide, medical alert, mobility, fetching, getting help exct) emotional support is not a task by the ADA law.
Bringing a non service animal into a service dog only establishment is claiming that animal as a service animal. Falsely labeling your animal can result in a fine up to 1,000 dollars and 6 months in jail and community service depending on your state. You will also be held responsible for injuries inflicted on a service animal if your pet attacks a working dog.

Which would cause the fake owner to be arressted for attempted manslaughter.

@@fantasygirlstudio4659 going to be honest I didn’t read all that. I understand the laws. What I also understand is that this whole video could have been avoided. If I see another dog in the store I don’t go and harass them, legitimate service dog or not. I get it she needs content for her UA-cam.... but it’s dramatic. The dogs were not a threat to her and definitely wouldn’t have been had she not harassed the woman. My original comment was about the fact that her dog isn’t behaving the greatest either, and that if her dog had “missed an alert” no one would be liable for that except her. Faking a service dog is not a felony it’s a misdemeanor in SOME states the ADA is a civil law not a criminal one. Also, no you can’t be charged with manslaughter there are too many variables. And in this situation specifically her dog needs more training. It should have been able to ignore a couple dogs in a stroller. Should they have been in the store, well no. However, that doesn’t change the fact that you can’t blame poor training on the world.

Mia seems to be very aroused by her surroundings including the dogs. She is constantly scanning her head back and forth even in her sits and downs which leaves very little room for her to focus on you and your medical needs. Dogs do this when they are stressed and over stimulated. Perhaps try scaling back the public access? I don't think she is ready.
Mia also seemed very aroused by this entire incident. I think we always look for aggressive to conclude inappropriate behavior but arousal and those behavior cues from dogs also matter as cause for concern.

Wrong shes actully right. Only service dogs are allowed in there.
      Service dogs and the Law:
According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, "service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities." The dog must not be a pet, but be specially trained to assist the handler with something directly related to his or her disability.
Under the ADA, service dogs cannot be denied entrance to businesses, even food service establishments, state and local government facilities or nonprofit organizations that serve the public.
      Fakes/ Pets:
Pets are not allowed in stores it is a health code violation .

If her dog is distracted by dogs growling, real service dog might miss a cue that would have otherwise turned into an alert. Having a service animal is expensive and takes a lot of effort aka not something invested in lightly over non-serious issues. If the dog is distracted by these morons, fails to alert, and the handler experiences something like syncope or seizure with no opportunity to get into a safe position, it could seriously hurt the person with the service dog and for WHAT? So some entitled idiots can bring pookie to contaminate the produce and pee on the floor instead of doing the absolute bare minimum?
It's not really a Walmart problem when it's a federal law being broken brazenly on video. It'll absolutely become their problem, but realistically they're gonna be fine. If this guy can't even handle such a basic situation and the result costs his corporate overlords, somehow I can't assume he's gonna have too many job prospects when they punt him. My dog is a in training to become a therapy dog. Not a service dog, but a therapy dog. I take him to many places with me to socialize him to different situations. There are stores that do allow dogs that aren't service animals to be brought in. I utilize those spaces to train my dog but would never allow him to interfere with the enjoyment or use of the space by anyone else. I don't know if that's a difference in where we live or not (I'm not in the US). I just know that some of the stores that do allow pets do so to prevent animals being left in hot cars by (obviously not very smart) pet owners. I wasn't saying I agreed with the people in the video bringing several dogs into the store on top of them being disruptive. I just found the approach of chasing them around the store to be a bit much. You made your point. You got the store management involved (though incompetent). What is the point of engaging further with the individuals? Put it in writing to the head office of Walmart or something if you feel like your concerns weren't addressed?

@@smackers102 Here unless its a task trained service dog than it is ILLEGAL to bring them into stores.
It's not about clout she is trying to assure that the business takes responsibility and do as they are supposed to before someone GETS HURT.
