- It is sad to say, but I think Karen's have officially ruined Cars and Coffee Houston... This used to be my favorite meet and something I looked forward to every month, but now it has changed into a ego flex for the show organizers. It appears if you don't have a certain status or level of wealth you are not allowed into a literal free car show. It is obvious the show is not organized by people that love cars if they think just because you have a Porsche badge you are better than someone else that poured time and money into building a JDM or Muscle car. It is truly sad to see such a good show go so far down hill that I think next time it is the only choice of car meet ill just sleep in.

I’m wasnt a fan of the idea of choosing who comes in and who doesn’t it’s 100% based and created a jam in the overflow parking area should be 1st come 1st serve, not to mention the overflow parking was $15 a car 🤦♂️ total scam

I understand that, but to a certain point i feel like picking should be there. Sometimes there’s a beat up car in the meet meanwhile I gotta park my Supra in the spectator lot after I paid admission. I just think they shouldn’t let the beater cars in there

The overflow lot had nicer cars I saw hellcats, m4, gt500, and a fucking viper. Why tf y’all paying for the overflow lot 😂 I haven’t paid for that shit since this new location has come about. Lol

I never thought I would see discrimination in car meets. Weirdos these days and that's why I keep my Camaro and vettes and lifted trucks hone to myself. Forget these new age people like these in this video saving away great muscle cars and more. Nobody should turned away

Cars and coffee is all about showing off your car, no matter how impressive its a place where you can find regular people like yourself and share an appreciation for every form cars come in. It should be first come first serve, not biggest wallet wins.

Even if I had a hypercar, I wouldn't want to go to a show that has a gatekeeper at the front denying people based off some arbitrary criteria. I'd rather take my car to a place that welcomes all cars. I feel bad for all the people who had to do the drive-of-shame away from the gate.

You should have stayed till 10:00 am it got lit 🔥 cars were absolutely flooring it the Karen’s were gone and everybody was having a great time! And it got very crowded with jdm’s shooting flames and it was super fun I wish you would have stayed longer!!
I think I was there till 11. There were a few I saw get on it a bit, but then it just went right back to traffic. I was told there was a 2 step battle between a supra and a truck so I wish I would have got to see that

wow, that sucks. the car culture should be about all builds not just the expensive ones. in my opinion a stock super car is kinda boring compared to something somebody put their blood sweat and tears into vs just buying something from a dealer and pulling up to a car show.

The vette on forgiatos was profiled upon 100%, thing wasn't stock with wheels either. Custom paint / wrap and exhaust.
It is a free show so part of me understands where they are coming from. But instead of giving stock supercars the boot (seen one stock Lambo you've seen them all) they get in and some sweet custom work just doesn't. Cars and Cantina is the only one I go to but that is pay to show. It's a way to get around this issue. No entry ticket? You don't get in. But the downside other than having to pay to get into a meet for me personally? Cars and Cantina vids have never done well ever. Cars and Coffee when it was still held at Classic BMW in Plano? I had a few in there that went over 10K views and they would always do 1K minimum. Cars and Cantina just doesn't do that for me. Part of that is 100% my refusal to clickbait (you KNOW I got the content to do that at times) but I never did that for Cars and Coffee either. Still go just about every month. Great group of people and cars. There ALWAYS is something new to see there!

I like the way cars and cantina is set up too. They have a proper size lot for spectators and they require that registration on the app. I think every large show should use those things so stuff like this doesn't happen

That is nuts. We don't have that problem in Charlotte (yet). Our biggest problem is getting kicked out of venues. After reading the comment below where someone said it got better later, maybe they should have timed entry slots, so you can get more variety over a few hours. In any case, I think I'd do the same as you and stand outside so I got to see all the cool cars, even the ones forced away

I only have an S2000 but one time they tried this on me and i just pretended not to hear, which given my top and windows were down, only made it more funny. The primary organizer (and executive at the company who lent their lot to the event) is an S2000 owner so that definitely wasn't his call.

Just to gain some clarification. Do they do this only when they see the lot filling? So essentially trying to get in as many more high profile cars as they can as they recognize the high profile cars won't park in the overflow lot (Mainly due to the owners not wanting to leave their cars alone)? I just ask because those first few vehicles, like the trucks, definitely seem like they wouldn't have passed the "inspection" lol.
i have never seen them do this before. Usually it is first come first serve but even with the amount of open spots that were in the back they didn't need to be letting in certain people. Apparently it was $15 to park if they didn't let you in also so I can see why people were getting so angry

Yes the lot was full and people couldn’t find spots. Sad to see the negativity. It was a crappy cold rainy week and everyone wanted to get outside on Saturday with the decent weather and the lot was full around 9 am.
@@SinclairPhotos The overflow lot for the event ON POST PROPERTY is all free. Again, a lot of people who were coming later into the event couldn't find parking and decided to park at the aquarium which yes is $15. There aren't many places that let this many people park with amenities and we have to deal with what we have. There is so much more to it then is being brought up. So sad that this is what we are choosing to focus on.

They've been doing this since last year. I went to one and got there at 830am. They turned away my Z32 and two twin turbo 370z's and the parking lot wasn't anywhere near full. I rarely go now because why waste my time getting up early and cleaning up the car if you can't even get in.
