    They still sound like Dark Age
    They evolved musically but you can still hear the classic unique Dark Age riffs.

    The evolution of the bands is quite normal; I don't think they changed style to get more fans or be "mainstream"...it's their natural evolution and progress, and they did an amazing job!

      In fact for me is a really strange way to evolve, they switched from melodic death to...what is this? alternative rock?

    Haben Dark Age mal nen Vertrag unterschrieben das sie immer nur Melodic Death Metal machen werden? Ich glaube nicht. Ich finde das neue Album sogar ziemlich gut und wer es nicht mag kann immernoch die alten Sachen hören.

    • @Nightcrawl6
      @Nightcrawl6 10 років тому

      bist wohl der Einzige der sich diesen Müll antut. Wie man sieht hat die Band mit dem neuen Album nix gerissen und ist im Niemandsland verschwunden. Entweder aufhören oder zu alten Tugenden!

    • @crackerking13
      @crackerking13 10 років тому

      Nightcrawl6 jemand der sowas redet wie du, der hat sich wahrscheinlich keine Ahnung. Wenn Dark Age ein Album rausgebracht hätte, was genau wie die letzten wäre, dann wäre das total Erfolglos geworden. Zudem ist eine Band die sich nicht veränder eine sterbende Band (Children of Bodom?!). Der "neue" Stil muss nicht jedem gefallen, aber ich selbst erkenne immenoch Dark Age wie sie sind und mal waren, zudem ist das nur 1 Lied vom Album aber naja...
      Also denken bevor man irgendwas von sich gibt. Ich finde das neue Album zwar super aber die alten höre ich immernoch gerne (die letzten 3 Alben sind meiner Meinung nach am besten (: ). In diesem Sinne LG

    • @Just_Lars

      Bin bei diesem Album eingestiegen, und empfinde den MD-Stil eher als Einheitsbrei, der beispielsweise von Dark Tranquillity viel besser gemacht wurde. Dagegen sind Afterlife und Nero erfrischend Unkonventionell, auch wenn die Gepitschte stimme nicht unbedingt toll ist, wie ich zugeben muss. Aber das Lied hat durchaus Stil.

    • @crackerking13
      @crackerking13 9 років тому

    I cannot see the album being too much heavier than this. Bands create an identity for themselves and fans like me expect to hear the same band when the new album comes out. Now if a band wants to sound like maroon 5, of course they can do it, they can do whatever they want, but not without losing fans that loved their original sound. Now, sure they can get new fans, but they are straight up trying to produce a more marketable sound which will be short lived.

  • @MyFeuerFrey

    If you have no idea what you are listening to you are not respecting what you are listening to.
    Knowing the genre and knowing what makes it tick is what makes you able to appreciate the songs. If you are 'music fan" you are free to listen to club music or go to Brittney spears concert, as you will know no better as long as some part of the melody resonates with your brain.

  • @MrJokk12
    @MrJokk12 11 років тому +1

    Everytime a band takes one step forward, their fans take two steps back.
    A band just can't release the same album with different songs every year. That's so close minded and leads to nothing. Good music and true inspiration isn't fixed to just one genre or a specific number of beats per minute.
    I adore the song and the new style. I feel sorry for the distortion pedal... And I want my Mustang back.
    Really looking forward to your next show in the Grünspan in Hamburg 06.09.

    It's alwasy the same: Either people say " They alwasy make the same music" or they say "I don't like their music anymore, it's to (insert adjective here)". Everytime I listen to a new album I decide wether I like it or not and that's that. Just don't blame the musicians because they didn't asked you what you would like.

    I listen to Dark Age since 2003 at least and.. Damnit I like this. There is still this pessimistic DA feel in this, I still get the same sound and vibe from the guitars, but all clad into a nice, catchy as hell song.
    I remember laughing over beginner's clean vocals back on their self-titled album. I am shocked to hear the same singer perform so well in such a great chorus.

    Guys this is still Dark Age!
    Their melodies and songwriting is still veeery similar to the previous ones.
    They just don't sound as heavy. I agree that it needs more harsh vocals.
    But its still just as catchy as their older tunes.

    The problem is that every time a band changes their style the fan base thinks that they do it just for the money or a even bigger fan base. I agree with you, that after the sixth change the band loses credibility, but on the other hand I won't listen to bands that release the same album every year. I support a band for their message and image and give a shit about the genre, as long it is damn good music that triggers something in me.

    Holy Shit Arcadia war ja schon ... naja... aber das hat ja nichts mehr mit Metal zu tun. Ich habe habe ja nichts dagegen, wenn Musiker sich im Laufe der Zeit verändern, das ist ganz normal (und soll auch so sein). Wenn man dabei jedoch einen so krassen Genrewechsel von Dark Metal zu Indie-Rock vollführt wäre es einfach besser gewesen Dark Age in Würde zu Grabe zu tragen und eine neue Band zu gründen. Das hier ist einfach ein Schlag ins Gesicht für Fans der alten Band.

    I fell in love with Dark Age and their style of composing long ago, they have to me unleashed the best growling, melodies and singing ever since The Silent Republic until Acedia, and I looked forward to more in the new album ... the band changed in the past - but it remained metal in my hearing, this release is toned down towards rock if you ask me - the quality and sound is really great, but this album is for me one of the biggest disappointments in a long time.

    Wie alle rumheulen „mimimi was ist mit Dark Age passiert“ . Alter was ist das Problem ? Weiterentwicklung sollte jedem ein Begriff sein. Das Album ist fett produziert (Eike warst du das ?🤔) und der Rest ? Immer noch screams, harte riffs, ein Tick mehr synths und electronic (absolut genial eingesetzt) und Melodien zum Himmel geil. Also da fand ich die Entwicklung von Linkin Park oder BMTH schlimmer und selbst DIE höre ich noch heute weil ich ein Mensch bin der die Musik so akzeptiert wie sie ist. Ich höre alles von Dark Age gerne . Aber besonders dieses Album. Die Songs sind on top auf den Punkt gebracht. Die voice egal ob clean oder hard absolut brilliant . Ja ich antworte ein paar Jährchen zu spät sry, aber bei den miesen Kommentaren teils musste das mal gesagt werden 😓 Besteht die Möglichkeit dass Dark Age irgendwann nochmal zusammen kommt und was neues raushaut? Bitte Leute, grad jetzt über corona könnte ich dringend neuen motivierenden stuff gebrauchen 😩🤙

    Old dark age had a lot of balls. New Dark Age has little edge to their music. You know, I can dig listening to this... once or twice... This is more pop than anything, universally accepted amongst many different listeners, but it in itself is not strong enough to stand the test of time. This isn't timeless by any means, just like ANY hit song on the radio, the industry will milk it for all it's worth and will be forgotten, and this sounds like an attempt to be "hit" quality, which it is not.

    I won't argue with a Dark Age fan, but you can't possibly tell me it's a better decision to completely change your sound in hopes of gaining a new fan base while losing the old one that allowed the band to exist in the first place. I love music without screaming and double bass and shredding, but if I want to listen to it, I'll go for the bands that specialize in other styles. You can't be good at everything and I personally am not fond of a band that has ten versions of themselves in 10 years.
