I just love this book! I’ve only done 4 projects and although I’m absolutely rubbish at it, I’ve enjoyed them tremendously. Great idea, lovely layout, cute sketches. Brilliant. And yes please, a peak into the creation and publication process would be fab.

Love the video and love the book. I have just started working in the book and as I don't have the exact color names you use I try to find colors as similar as possible in my several sets of watercolor paint. So excited to hear you are creating another book and would love to see posts about that process. As an artist and self-published poet I am always intrigued by the process of creating books. Can't wait till your next book is out for preorder.

Love love the book! I'm doing every painting and have already bought the second book for when I finish the first one. I'm glad you made this video because I'm still having trouble with fur. It was helpful to se how you do the little strokes. Mine were looking like they were in rows.

This video is great Dana, I was looking back over your past videos and was thrilled to find this. I just love the book you are detailing in this video. I really love colouring in one book whilst also being able to trace off and use in my own art journal. Also I enjoy showing what I have achieved. I think how you stuck by what you wanted for the book and really put you into it rather than someone else, this really gave it a sense of you and it worked so well. I am sure it was an awful lot of work but it made for great results.
With regards the second book due out, I have already pre ordered it via the UK Amazon - I am typing this in May 2-19 - and I hope that you do a video on creating it from start to finish, it would be very interesting. With thanks :)

Great watercolor picture!
I'm a newbie, and just recently purchased this book. Love it! I don't paint directly in the book, but sketch out the drawings. One thing I would add for your next book would be to include the type of paper you are using in the book and/or show paintings using 100% cotton paper, etc. so we could see the difference. Maybe include in video (CD) to accompany the book; just a thought.
I love your book and I really like that it jumps straight into exercises and doesn't bang on about theory for pages and pages, don't get me wrong I understand how important colour theory is but almost every other book has it so I don't believe it's needed, I would rather more exercises. The illustrations are so adorable and I hope to be able to paint like that one day. Excited for the 2nd book. Have you thought about possibly having a picture at the end of each section that combines a few of the drawings from that section?
Yes! That would be awesome because I would have loved to have several combinations of drawings like the front cover of your "Forest" book! Just so we can combine some drawings into the title context. :) Saw your instagram story about the next book and I already can't wait. Hope there will be a sea turtle. And maybe a seal too. Keep up the amazing work!

I'm so happy that you made this video, at first I didn't really believe I could really really use watercolor on the book. I got that feeling from my coloring book paper experience. But now I totally have to get this book.
I'm also legit mad at people leaving bad review on your book. They make no sense at all. This book is thick enough to smack some sense into them.
ooXChrissieXoo hahaha thank you! Thankfully there are only a few negative reviews. I think most have to do with the paper as they expected a super thick professional paper or something. Unfortunately with books, you’re limited to what you can choose from (I chose that paper myself from a selection). If it were any heavier it would be SO thick, cost a lot to produce and ship to customers, and possibly not even have as many projects. Thanks for the support!!! Xox
I have the book and am enjoying it! I think I might be cheating, though, because I've been colouring the images with watercolour pencil and then adding the water. Can't wait for the next book!
I want to get into working in my book so bad now, but I have to get Christmas cards and gifts done first. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to take a break and play in my book. So glad you'll be doing a 2nd book, any hints as to what the content will be? Floral would be amazing. I'd love to see the process of how you make the book from start to finish, that would be so interesting. Thanks!

Gorgeous. I bought your book but the Kindle edition as costs to mail to South Africa are so expensive. Now I am a little sorry, as I would have preferred to be able to paint directly in the book. I must buy the actual book next time.... :-)
Sandra Gordon yes definitely the paperback is essential! I’m actually not sure why they have a kindle version listed to be honest. It’s like getting a colouring book that you can’t colour in :). I hope you can use it anyways... perhaps transfer the sketches into paper.
