All I know is that I take 1 tablet , sublingually, each day. I have no desire to take any more than that, and it wouldn't do any good if I did. I don't want to take Dilaudid or oxycodone anymore, and I have no interest in it. I don't worry about overdosing. I don't have to deal with shady people . I don't have to even think about drugs anymore, other than going to the pharmacy . And it helps with the pain that caused me to want to be prescribed opiate pain killers in the first place. Buprenorphine is the reason I am now succeeding at LIFE.

Suboxone saved my damn life! I was hit by a drunk driver when I was 21 but didn’t start having pain until I was around 26. Turns out I have 5 herniated discs. Because I refused to have surgery at such a young age, all the orthopedic doctors I went to would send me straight to pain management. Pain management would immediately give me 180 roxys and send me on my way. Of course, I got addicted, did some stupid stuff to maintain my addiction and eventually went to jail.
I finally got up the nerve and posted my addiction, arrest and jail stories on my UA-cam channel. If I can help even just one person, I’m forever grateful.
Now I don’t have to take opiates and I don’t have back pain. 🙌🏼

Another big myth is that buprenorphine is for the treatment of addiction. I have severe dextroscoliosis that caught up with me around the age of 70. It is with me for life now. The current climate about prescribing opiates left my pain insufficiently treated. I was never addicted to traditional opiates and have always been able to taper myself off short term pain prescriptions. Buprenorphine has managed my pain enough to get me back up out of my chair again. However, the patch is very expensive and causes severe skin irritation. I still have the rigid rules controlling the dispensation of my prescription. I can't imagine buprenorphine being abused since there is no high. I hate the stigma and the fact that I am treated as a potential criminal for merely wanting to not live in constant pain.

The way Primary Care MDs kick a patient out for testing positive for another substance is proof they don't give a shit about their patients. I know people who were seen by the same MD for years, one being treated for repeated back injuries that led to emergency back surgery.
(The ER treats back injuries like shit. The man couldn't walk, and was so doped up from the pain Tx on the ambulance trip that he had no idea what was going on. They wanted us to dump him in the lobby. We refused and they gave him a bed. The doc walks up and immediately says he is going to discharge him to just go back home. The Pt was a fellow medic. Fortunately we had a picture of the MRI from the disc we gave them but they didn't bother to look at. When we showed it to him he said, oooohhhhh, ok. Let me get you a neurologist and something for the pain. He didn't get discharged and ended up in Sx)
Back to the problem with primary care PhDs. The Pt tested clean every time for years. One day they say he tested positive for cocaine and Valium, and negative for his pain meds. He says they must have gotten his cup mixed up. He gave it to the nurse but no one labeled it or wrote his name on it that he saw.
Long/short. Next visit the doc refused to see him. That was it. If you had a patient who never strayed from the Rx treatment and all of a sudden they had cocaine in their system, and if you actually cared about the wellbeing of your PTs, wouldn't you want to find out what was going on? They absolutely wouldn't entertain any notion that their staff may have messed up. Ok, then they had to believe that the guy was all of a sudden doing cocaine and Valium and not taking any of the pain meds after back surgery. And they had no concerns for him, only for themselves I guess. The nurse said it was their policy that the patient couldn't talk to his Doctor about it for the visit that day, nor ever again.
They shouldn't call it patient care, because they don't care about their patients. I miss the old school doctors who saw you from childhood on and actually cared about someone.
I was in the medical field for 10 years. I can tell you some stories and you would agree that doctors and hospitals are just going through the motions because doing so is profitable. It should be profitable. But they should also actually care.

Are there any Health Risks to long term Prescribing of Buprenorphine?

    • @GovInst
      @GovInst  3 місяці тому +2

Given the lethality of the current drug market with its many adulterants including fentanyl and fentanyl analogues, for the vast majority of individuals, the benefit of reducing the chance of fatal overdose far outweighs the medical side effects. However, as a partial opioid agonist, buprenorphine does have the expected side effects, most of which do not pose problems for continued use. Additionally, there are safety concerns including interactions with other drug classes that need to be considered.
For information about safety including interactions with other drug classes, see Tables 3 and 4 from this 2018 American Family Physician article: www.aafp.org/pubs/afp/issues/2018/0301/p313.html

I went to detox to get off of Suboxone. I went through withdraw for over 2 weeks and was the worst withdraw I've had. My Dr said that was quick, that he'd had patient who withdrew for 3+ weeks to a month. Oxycontin and Opana withdraw were exponentially less painful! This is not something that you can quit taking and go back to work next week. If you have responsibilities, be prepared to schedule a significant amount of time out to go to a detox facility. If you can taper, great. If you can't, seek professional help, NOT your clinic doctor.
Also, don't let them convince you that you need "maintenance" so they can keep billing your insurance. Research how long it takes your brain activity to return to normal after completely quitting taking buprenorphine. (It's about 1 year, OFF meds.) Now research how much Suboxone clinics profit in 1 year. God bless you.

They should just sell this stuff over the counter so people can get access to it easily if needed. You should definitely have to buy it from the pharmacy, it should just be available for people that need it. You shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get it. That's the main thing that stops people from doing it and keeps them just using hard opiates. I'd much rather have people getting a pill that's manufacturing and sale regulated than a baggy of mystery substance on the corner from their local street chemists.

Not to mention the risk of getting caught with it which can lead to legal troubles and fines and court costs. But I get it tho. No medication should cost that much. What I said in my comment tho still stands. I'm completely anti drug war. I think people should be allowed to consume or administer themselves anything they want. But this especially since they want everyone off drugs at least provide this to anyone that wants it to stay clean. Like people should just be able to buy one unit if that's all they can afford at the time. Personally I think a lot less people would be dying if the entire drug operation was brought above the table, controlled and regulated. That's just my opinion tho. Too many people get lengthy prison sentences over the stuff. I did two years simply for attempting to get a few extra percocets on a prescription. In those two years I watched 6 pedophiles come in and get released and come back again on similar charges. The fact that drug addicts are getting more time than pedophiles is ridiculous.

My kids would not have either parents because we would have been sharing the same shit hookup off the street. I get what you're saying. Only allow the 16-25 mg dose (or whatever it is) per person per day. I'm sure it wouldn't be that difficult and would help so many. Awesome video.. the harsh reality is getting off subs was a total nightmare for me. Maybe the first 3 days of withdrawal weren’t as hardcore as quitting opiates but the withdrawal from suboxone lasted for many months. Just complete misery.
My advice is quit the Subs and use Kratom instead for a couple months and then quit the Kratom. Quitting Kratom is also difficult but it’s way easier than quitting opiates or Suboxone. I’ve been dealing with opiates/subs on and off for 10+ years.

    • @mongogojjo5944

Highly disagree, kratom caused far more issues for me than suboxone ever did. Everyone is vastly different, for some people being on suboxone is far better for them than being on kratom everyday.
Kratom gave me seizures (I'm not prone to them and was taking literally nothing else at that time), it caused my hair to fall out and it's short acting. It also started causing a lot of anxiety for me and the list of problems could go on, It can help some people and I'm glad it helped you but it's not a miracle plant and people need to be aware of the potential risks.
Obviously it isnt nearly as bad as heroin (which I was on for almost 6 years) or pills (which I was on for 2) and I do think it should remain legal but heavy kratom advocates are damn near delusional, some of them going as far as denying that kratom withdrawals even exist...

Fact is I had at least somewhat of a life finally able to use MS Contin, and then using AVINZA (I am NOT a drug addict).
With time release Morphine Medicine worse than criminally, inhumanely, taken from me. Morphine Medicine that was NOT at all handed to me on a platter, that I did NOT get handed to me on a platter also the working dosage, and now only option given being Belbuca- I have no life once again.
I have already been down this road, all this stuff they now have which everyone seems to think is the answer to my Pain- well they refuse to hear the factual words that it does NOT work!
That I should compare things that does nothing- as in DOES NOT WORK, to that which DID WORK- giving me at least somewhat of a life- finally feeling like I had somewhat control over my somewhat of a life I call it due to NOT being where I once was- my somewhat of a life I had to fight through a daily Hell for- NO I AM NOT A FOOL, STUPID, OR A SUCKER TO WHAT IS FAR WORSE THAN WRONG!
Which brings the common sense point (which my father who is 90 years old- not stupid- and the point he also thinks there is a great lack of common sense these days). Why am I punished in the this so called UNITED STATES, first for some strangers illegal drunken driving I had nothing to do with- nor my friends- other than illegal plastered drunk driver in a truck caused head on collision- caused for us deaths- and my ruined life, and now again I am being this time punished for the illegal wrongs of drug addict strangers. The drug addicts who mostly use street drugs the most, which I have nothing to do with their actions of street drugs- or even if they get somehow use Pharmaceutical Medicine, heck again strangers I do NOT even know- for whom government people ruin my life for- which tells me with simple common sense applied- the fact that the so called united states government cares more for the lives of drug addicts, than the lives of us people who happen to have a Severe Chronic Pain Illness (don't even begin with the excuses- for I am NOT at all an idiot, nor a sucker to nonsense excuses)- the somewhat of a life I had to fight through Hell/torture/suffering way too long to even make a smidgen of sense- to finally get any relief from the- ONE TYPE OF MEDICINE THAT TRULY DOES WORK FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH A SEVERE LONG TERM PAIN ILLNESS/SEVERE CHRONIC PAIN ILLNESS (i.e. OPIATE/OPIOID MEDICINE)- that these people who have done this to us people with a Severe Chronic Pain Illness do NOT have a bit of common sense about any of it- the Pain, nor the time Opiate/Opioid Medicine, time release Opiate/Opioid Medicines!
Responsibly used Opiate/Opioid Medicines (mostly Opiate) for 29+ years with not one measly problem- which literally saved my life after far more than 10 years of Hell daily constant Pain- was losing my mind from daily constant Pain I have- that nothing else worked then or now- not able to use the one thing that did work (I would learn more than well- Opiate/Opioid Medicine does work for a lot of us people with Severe Long Term Pain Illnesses), yet they do this all to others with Severe Long Term Pain- and myself again- all for nothing- unless you count government corruption/money.
I have NOT yet even talked about the same old negative Opiate/Opioid Medicine lies they now tell again. Negative lies I know for a first hand proven fact are NOT true at all in relation to us people who use Opiate/Opioid Medicine for Severe Long Term Pain Illnesses. That they are now telling such lies again about Opiate/Opioid Medicine. Which is truly an evil- and sadly done in this so called united states.
The whole bit of suing the Pharmaceutical Companies for the wrongs of drug addicts, who the Pharmaceutical Companies did NOT force to use Opiate/Opioid Medicine who did NOT need it, just like how they now torture us people with Severe Chronic Pain for the illegal wrongs of others we have nothing to do with, yet the judicial system does NOT help us at all- corruption all in on the corrupt government deal). Where there is no more real government, just a bunch of evil doers!
Beware people also- of the fake TV Network News. They also- are NOT at all for us North American born Citizens.
The Pharmaceutical Companies, and the rare few real Doctors who helped us people with daily, constant Pain, did nothing wrong using Opiate Medicine, they saved my life (saved the lives of thousands of other people, and notice the news talks nightly about drug addict over-doses, but says nothing about the people they killed with a Severe Chronic Pain Illness for nothing, and due to taking working Opiate/Opioid Medicine away from us based on corruption evil and lies; and I would not be here if I did not have my struggle with my belief in G-d, i.e. I know about suffering- and have to worry would I get even worse- and they will not understand this struggle of course- nor care about the 3 times NOT at all to do with Opiate/Opioid Medicine my death could have happened like the flip of a coin- still wonder why I am here- not lucky either with how we are treated- the point what for- and why I believe people whose body's are messed bad- should not be kept alive for how we are treated- just common sense in relation to this evil system), but of course this so called united states only cares for illegal wrong doers, money, and evil doing. They do NOT care at all about innocent people who have a Severe Chronic Pain Illness, as why else would they be giving us drug addict medicine for nothing- nothing we have anything to do with though treated as such- if they did truly believe we have a Severe Chronic Pain Illness this evil garbage would NOT be done, but they do NOT believe us- they have gone in a full circle right back to the 1980's decade, and prior decades to the 1980's where they just leave us to suffer and die (it is like a for real time warp right back to the 1980's).
After 41 years, in days now, of this Long Term Pain Hell scenario. I am NOT a fool, I see well the truth of all of this, I feel it daily, constantly! I do nothing much to keep my Pain as low as possible, and now only getting useless non-working crap, and done all for absolutely nothing we have done to deserve this worse than a crime. Therefore being nothing that we deserve in this so called united states- that is no more (what said here, being NOT at all in reference to President Donald Trump, Vice-President Mike Pence, and a few other Conservatives who tried, but unfortunately the communist, New World Orderist, traitors, are winning the internal tyranny/coup of many angles to completely destroy the real UNITED STATES, that much of it is now already gone).
Opiate/Opioid Medicine (MS Contin, AVINZA, MSIR ROXY- is a literal G-d Send, a literal Miracle Medicine, a literal Life Saver, yet they do NOT care- do NOT care about us people with a Severe Chronic Pain Illness. NO, they do NOT care at all! Why do they let other people use other Medicines that they must take daily, and could not just stop using- would have to slowly reduce to using no more (though there is an expensive route where they put you under and detox your body in one whammy for Opiate/Opioid Medicine), but the point is- not only is Opiate/Opioid Medicine bad-listed for nothing, but also us people with a Severe Chronic Pain Illness are bad-listed/bad-treated, treated like drug addicts though NOT at all a drug addict, we are shunned, etc.
They have no idea what it is like to want to live, and yet want to die, in a senseless existence due to others in this so called united states, who have power, repression, control, threat, torture, and slaughtering over you.
But they will pass united states laws real quick for the suffering Pain of terrorists who desire, and act hoping to take North America completely off the map, yeah go figure this truth! But they do just the opposite to us innocent born North American Citizens suffering with a Severe Chronic Pain Illness.
This so called united states, where the government clan acting communist- medically tortures North American Citizens for nothing, has somehow quickly forced the old negatively lies about Opiate/Opioid Medicine back being told again, and happily tortures us people with a Severe Chronic Pain illness, some again like myself, and all for nothing (unless a person counts the sinister wrong directed spoken excuses).
(somehow they also seem to still think, that a person can get use to daily, constant Pain. Pain that prevents doing things you even have a great desire/want to do- that nothing else is preventing you from doing such)
    Go figure- does NOT figure!

Statistics show 70% of opioid addicts started with prescription medicines prescribed by a doctor in a office setting. Very soon they were addicted to the drug and that’s how you brain and body work with opioids. It’s science not common sense or whatever the fuck you are talking about here. My life was ruined because I got legal heroin ( opioid medication ) prescribed to me by a doctor and then by the time I was done with my script I was already addicted. So yes, the life of addicts fucking matter probably not to you but they do to the majority of the people in this world who have a little bit of knowledge about what they are talking about. You sound fucking ignorant and to be really honest with you, you are probably addicted to this stuff too and sounds like you are just pissed off at the world because you can’t get your legal drugs anymore. Bad for pain control (dont work as good as traditionslal opioids) & buprenorphine is very addictive compared to traditional opioids. Its had to tolerate buprenorphine for pain control due to extreme sedation. It's only good for opiate abuse treatment, but not as good for pain. So why are they forcing buprenorphine on to intractable and chronic pain patients. Buprenorphine is extremely expensive scam to force patients off traditional opiods that are safe and effective & force ppl to take this problematic drug.

Still less cravings definitely not "no cravings" , if you haven't a script your still putting yourself at risk, and yeah you can obtain a high/buzz . If a diabetic lived in a world without insulin they'd live a hard and potentially short life, if a opioid/opiate dependent lived in a world void of such chemicals well they'd live a normal lifespan for their genetic make up... now a opioid/opiate addict in world void of such things would go looking to the next mind altering substance.

That is sad...I know in my area pain specialist cant prescribe it..it has to be a certified Dr or Np in a behavorial health setting not a Dr.s office like it used to be..I do know some years back 2013 14 and 2015 lots of pain specialist in Indiana went to prison or lost their license for over prescribing opiates...or they prescribed them with benzos which is highly controlled...we had one in my city they called Dr Dealer...

It is also a good pain reliever Jennifer, he should have said its not just to help people get off more habit forming opiates x
Chronic pain sufferers should get this instead of the more addictive opiates from the offset IMH, x

They have formulations specifically for pain management like Butrans (patches) and Belbuca (buccal films). Some people even get just the plain Subutex tablets. However....I would definitely agree they're not as effective as regular opioid agonists (oxy, morphine etc.) In the majority of patients. But-- there are pain patients who are happy with it.

I was given this when I had no addiction.. I was taking 100mg oral morphine a day and ran out.. Was barely even an issue, I was just a baby about it. I should have been given 0.25mg of bupe over a week and been done with it.. Instead they prescribed me 8mg a day, 32x the therepeutic dosage. Fast-forward 1yr and now I have a drug problem! Suboxone!

@@Williamthehedonist Subs are extremely habit-forming. Don't kid yourself.
