Location: Petaling Street, Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Petaling Street Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown is a treasure trove of knock-off and merchandise! Need a fake pair of Ray-Bans, Nikes, or Rolex? I guarantee you can find what you're looking for in Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown Market.
Even if you don't enjoy shopping this is an experience that shouldn't be missed next time you visit Kuala Lumpur. You'll be entertained by sheer amount stuff in the market, as well as the sales tactics the hawkers use.
I would devote about an hour of time to visiting Chinatown in Kuala Lumpur. You can only look at sunglasses and watches for so long. After you're finished at the market, you can enjoy Kuala Lumpur's best Chinese food at any of the local street vendor stands.

It’s so interesting watching all these videos from scratch: the editing in this video is snappier; the two of you seem more relaxed behind the camera; the narrative is more engaging. It’s like getting a first peek at what lies ahead for the two of you. What incredible story tellers you have become!
I love Kara's reactions to food. I remember I had nasi goreng in Penang and I nearly died from pleasure overdose. Malaysian food rocks.
So I'm watching your vlogs from the beginning. My wife and I have a great relationship but really I'd like to find some specific thing to do for her every day. I love that you bring Kara coffee every single day.
Started watching from start of your journey... must say, I noticed a huge change in demeanors starting last episode and certainly this one. So much more confidence and the subtle humor had me chuckling the entire time.
Binge-watching in 2021 for the first time. I wanna travel to so many places! I appreciate you two!💜
I like how kara held the bag with the coffee and lifted it to her mouth like a pro
OMG, i can't watch these videos while I'm hungry! Literally 25 seconds in and the food seems delicious!
Just discovered your vlog a few days ago (thanks to the infamous UA-cam rabbit hole). I'm a stay at home mom of 3 from Indiana with cabin fever so I've been living vicariously living through y'all as a bit of an escape from my normal day to day routine. Thank you!
Such a cool shot in the sun glass reflection. -Ash
I was thinking the same thing. VERY artistic. Someone's a cinematographer in the making. :-)
Hi Ash
Have watched you from literally day 1 and cannot believe that the time has come to rewatch everything now.
Please don’t be offended that they gave you a fork and spoon, my dads side of the family is Malay and they use a Fork and Spoon for almost every dish there is, if anything they were treating you like a local. A lot of love for you guys and the absolute best wishes for what’s to come! 😀
Binge watching in 2020!
Victoria Jackson me too it is quarantine right now smh 🤦♂️
I remember the first time I watched you how frustrated I become it was no shopping involved. When a viewer is frustrated it speaks volumes of how Kara must have felt. LOL: :D That necklace became iconic. :)
Chicken rice is a touchy subject between SIngaporeans and Malaysians. Each claim that they are the ones that started the original chicken rice. An interesting tidbit for you. I'm from Singapore, for me, what matters is that the chicken rice is tasty! Who cares where it comes from!
+foodmore thanks for the education! I have to say, I enjoyed the chicken rice we had Singapore much better!
+Kara and Nate you much better we are the best in KL,,
I’m just now starting to watch your adventures and I love them! Thank you for sharing your adventures!
You don't eat chicken rice with chop sticks! Forks and spoons are the way to go hahaha.
Kara's too cute + nice time lapse
3:22: Kara is trying not to show that she is hangry, but Nate knows her too well :)
When Nate gets cereal and said he missed it...that was so relatable lol
I just watched the ending 3 times because it’s adorable.
cute couoples:)i cant stop watching all your videos guys🤗🤗🤗🤗😘😘
be careful of the knock off glasses... they don't have the UV protection that real ones have... same as in the Philippines
I'm Malaysian, and I really enjoy both your videos! Next time you're in Malaysia, do head over up north to Ipoh then Penang for more amazing food experience! Or...go down south to Malacca and Johor Bahru for moreeeee food experience (if haven't already :)) !!
Stayed on Petaling St, in the Rainforest hotel.....only 10 Euro per night....small room, no windows....but air con though.....and near the skytrain
MMMMMMMMM Oreo's I completely agree Kara. though Pineapple soft serve sounds nice too.
I've become a Kara and Nate follower!
I just saw something that you guys should try if you every go back to singapore. There's this thing called raincloud coffee where they spin cotton candy and hang it over your mug, and the heat of it causes the sugar to melt and rain into your cup. Looks pretty cool.
loved the amazing cloud time-lapses during this malaysia trip, really great shots!
+Marie Lee thank you! :)
this got me soooo pumped for when i go to KL.
I can relate to Kara of so much when it comes to wanting you to satisfy your urge to buy something and a new country. Y'all are so cute and inspiring me to travel the world. Maybe one day I'll be able to meet you
Nate's country accent use to be so thick haha love it
What a cool neckless! A plane nerd too! Lol!
Yeah, those noodles did not look too enticing. That chicken rice, however, looked outstanding!! Yum!
Omg I think I saw Kara wearing the airplane necklace in a recent vlog 😃
#bingewatching 🤷♂️🎚❤️
JustSayin, me too. And it's 1/29/20.
same 😇
Actually, chicken rice is meant to be eaten with a spoon and fork! In a lot of SE Asia, most rice dishes are eaten with a spoon and fork, especially if they are served on a plate. You use the fork to push the rice onto the spoon. Chopsticks are only really used if the rice was served in a bowl, or for a noodle dish. Also, as a Singaporean with a Malaysian mother, I have to say, Singapore has better chicken rice.
DANG WANGI, Nate used to be real sassy! I'm laughing so hard
i want to travel abroad like this; i used to live in Germany as a little girl.. but Asia just seemed too intimidating. However your vlogs make it seem less so. still hard but less so.
Loved your logs
Hi Kara and Nate
I have a fear of the lion dance because when I was 3 at a Chinese restaurant with my family. The dancers came in and the drummer started banging his drum behind my high chair which made me cry.
Also when I was 5 a lion dancer came right up to me and shook his big lion head again scaring me and making me cry.
Joys of being adopted into a Chinese family. Btw I don’t get the lettuce thing
I love those noddles
there is a nice wanton noodle stall near kim lian keep. it is called soon keep but it is kinda hidden from the outside and easy to miss.
+mintico snout we'll have to check it out next time we're KL!
So cute!
because you guys travel so light.... what do you do with anything you purchase? mail it home?
Ha ha Nate made the mistake of going shopping lmao
Hey guys, I really enjoy watching you guys. Pardon me if you've already mentioned this, I'll like to know what application you guys use for editing videos. Thanks.
Thank you Manny! I use Adobe Premiere Pro CC :)
Awesome! Thanks.
How do u guys have your coffee? Some times its looks milky other times it looks black?
Nate's is always black no matter what. Mine is black when we make it at home, but when we go out for coffee I usually get a sweet flavored one. Mochas are my fav :)
Binge watching 2022
So the ice cream machines at over seas Mcdonalds actually work? lol
😅haha, yes. It took me time what this ice cream machines do not work thing as I never experienced in my country
What were the grey sandals you are wearing in the market?
You didn't show the trip from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, and I didn't read the heading above, so didn't realize until today--2nd. day here, that you're now in Malaysia. So, how did you get there? I'm assuming that since they're so comparatively close together, you either took a bus or train, rather than flying. Correct?
😮they did not went from Singapour, they went from Singapour to HongKong, from Hong Kong to Taiwan and from Taiwan to back Hong Kong airport, and then to Malaysia. Because they use niles and points and they should check when it is work well
Figured out Kara is my husband:
✔️ Gets hangry
✔️ Never full
✔️ Skinny and fast metabolism
chocolate does bring joy
❤❤
@ 5:25 YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO MIX THE NOODLES UP LMAO.
Is this a food vlog?
That flour thing is not noodles.. It's called "Chee Cheong Fun"
Nice
+Chafik respect bro Hafidi thanks!
The McDonald’s ice cream machine working?
😅haha, yes, in most of the countries it is actually working
sort of looked like kimchi
Why are spoons and fork offending?
I wonder how much in USD the fake sunglasses cost. I'd be surprised if they were over $5.
.
nate is so grumpy
How are you able to afford $144 us/night????
