Thanks for the fab video & review. I tried to check all the comments, but didn't see a reference to their kids club. Did the children in your party spend any time in a kids club at the resort, and if so did they like it? I have 11 & 8 year olds that I think will have fun on their own (esp with water park), but a quality kids club would help a lot. Thanks.
We didn’t have any kids with us. We stayed on he adult side of the resort. However, we had access to the family side as well and noticed there always seemed to be an activity happening.

My only questions are:
-Did you feel safe walking between the resorts at night?
-We have teenage boys (17-14) & is it safe for them to walk between resorts at night?
-Does the public have access to this waterpark or just the people staying there?

Wow what an adventure. Haven’t been on a vacation in 35 years looking at maybe a cruise recommended by my family doctor.
You should go David. Everything seems to ‘reset’ for sure. Now that I’m back I’ll be steady at the cabin and very little to no vacation. Had to sneak that one in👍

Looking to take the family end of March. Kids will be 9 years old. Do you think it's a good spot for kids to play while we relax and have some pool drinks?
100%. Excellent resort. And we’ve been to many over the years. Fantastic all the way around
Going to Punta Cana in June with fam. Scheduled at Dreams Onyx further north but looking for white sand & calmer water... looks like Royalton is also brown sand? Any reef? Shallow for kids? Surge? Atlantic vs Caribbean waters? Also heard Royalton bought by Marriott & undergoing needed renovations? Appreciate your comments. You gave great reviews!
Royalton sand was really clean. And not brown. There were no reefs. It was shallow but did get deeper as you walked out. There were always kids in the ocean. This Royalton was newly updated in 2019 when it was bought from Memories Splash. We don’t mind either Atlantic or Caribbean

With your diamond club did they help to get reservations at the Royalton Bavaro a la cartes ? How did that work
We didn’t go over to the Bavaro actually. We really didn’t know that we had access to it until the last day or so. We were so busy with our days that we didn’t even see the need to go there

Yes you do. It’s about 10 minutes walk.

1. Are the 2 resorts pretty much merged into one We are staying diamond royalton. Would we need to pay to use the splash park?
2. Would the Hacienda trip you went on be suitable for a 7yr old?
3. Can you use any restaurant across the 2 hotels
4. You mentioned getting a lift around the resort. Ars these buggies you hire or do the staff take you round?
5. Did you go to Bavaro? And can you use the facilities and restaurants there?

Both are connected. And you don’t really realize you are on the other. We did diamond as well. So you get access to everything. There is no fee for the splash park. There were all different age groups on the excursion we did. Everything was safe and fun! You can pair up on zip line and the horses are relaxed. The dune buggies were lots of fun for all ages.
The shuttles at the resort are provided by Royalton free of charge. They come every 15 mins I think…we didn’t get to Bavaro it’s a little distance down the beach and we didn’t realize we had access there until the day or two before we were leaving.
We had access to all restaurants as we were diamond members.
We only did game room on our side.

Hi Chuck! Ken here from Nova Scotia. Doesn’t look like good fishing in those cement ponds, bad rabbit snaring in the flower gardens and I didn’t see any moose or deer meat in the buffet. And I don’t think a skandix would work to its full potential on that sandy beach. But with all those drinks I guess all that stuff wouldn’t matter much. Lol. Glad you guys had a great time. For me, off to work every day. Lol. Never been anywhere outside Nova Scotia other than Moncton so it’s always nice to see there is life out side my bubble. Lmao. Looking very forward to your cabin build series.

Can you use the lazy river at the Bavaro if you are staying in the Royalton all signature?
As far as I know if you stay at the Royalton you get access to the others. I know I walked there 2-3 times and ate on the other resorts

Do you have a recommendation for which side to stay on? While the website says if you stay at one you can enjoy the ameneties at the other, I saw a different video where the family said they stayed on the splash side but weren't allowed to eat at several of the restaurants on the PC side.
It depends on the personal preference. We stayed on the splash side and had complete access to everything that was important (gym, theatre, stores, etc). We even had two choices for buffet (from both sides). The couple of restaurants that were off the list didn’t really matter to us.

100%. They are in essence the same resort. You walk from one to the other. Two resorts in one 👍👍
Are all amenities shared if I stayed at the splash?
Virtually all yes. There are a couple of restaurants on the other side you won’t have access to but we found we certainly didn’t miss those at all.
great video thanks for posting. one question for you. is the diamond club really worth it as I went to many places over the years with and without the diamond club package and I haven't seen much of a deference.
It was nice and didn’t cost much more (I think it was like $100?) it gave us a butler service which was nice for booking meals and excursions etc, but it gives you access to all restaurants on both resorts. Having said that, we would have enjoyed it just as much without the upgrade I’m sure

how do you find about what shows or beach parties are taking place that day? do you know if the foam party is every day, or only weekends? also, did you book your excursion when you got to the resort, or beforehand? are the excursions safe to go to, and are there a lot of vendors? for the water sports on the beach, how much extra were they?

Hi there.
When you arrive there are activity schedules listed throughout the resort for daily entertainment. The pool party I believe was once a week. We always book on the resort with tour guides. We have never felt unsafe on any of our excursions. Especially when we travel with children. I would recommend excursions, it’s a way of seeing their countries etc. 😊 there are plenty of vendors around on the beach. And you have to bargain with them for anything they offer.

You will do just fine without the diamond club. It basically gave us a butler (which was nice but not necessary) and complete access to all restaurants on both resorts.

No. The splash park etc is all included in all packages. The vip gave us exclusive rights to one of the pools and also gave us total access to both sides of the resort.

My family and I went to this resort around 5-6 years ago.... we stayed in the same building you did judging by your view of the water park....we loved it as well....looks like it got a bit of a facelift in some areas...we always recommended this one too...i'd even go back again

Yes. There are people selling on the beach. But I know this has been the case in virtually all resorts I’ve attended. Depends on what time of day you are there as well

I have plans on staying at The Royalton Splash Punta Cana next month. Even though I will be staying in the Water Park Resort, I also have access to the other resort correct?
You have access to the other resort for sure. It’s where the beach, the shows etc are. You may be limited to certain restaurants if you’re not in the diamond club, but there are plenty on the water park side anyhow. You’ll be golden👍👍

Absolutely. You have access to both resorts. They expect you to use their theatre as if it were yours

There are at least 5-6 pools, counting both sides of the resort. The calmer ones are on the splash side, while the two main gathering pools are on the beach side. VIP ones there as well. Plenty to choose from. You won’t be disappointed 👍

We stayed at splash. It would take about 5-7 mins to walk to beach. We could have taken the on-site transit they had but never bothered as it was a nice walk anyway

Can’t recall exactly. However, our friends daughter (seen in the video) was not far above 4 feet and she could go on all the rides

Great video. I’m curious if you needed to pay to go to the water park if you stayed at Royalton Punta Cana or Royalton Bavaro…or was it included since you stayed at a sister hotel?
We stayed on the Royalton splash side but had total access to the Bavaro. In fact, the beach access was through bavaro. People switched back and forth as they pleased. I believe that you may need diamond club status to get access to everything but I’m not actually sure if that. In essence, you get two resorts for the price of one. We were really impressed.

Hi there! I am reading a lot of horrible reviews about the food. Did you feel that there was a lot of variety?
We found the food was excellent. No issues. Lots of variety. The steak house wasn’t the best we’ve been to but other than that lots of variety and good food
We just booked to go here next year, how critical is it to have the Diamond Club? Will it detract from our holiday if we don’t?
It limits access to some restaurants on the Punta Cana side. Other than that, its a longer check in when you arrive.
You won’t have a butler but that’s not the end of the world
Thanks for the reply we are just a bit concerned that we will end up only being able to eat and drink in a couple of places and struggle to get sun loungers on the beach, it’s a long way for us to come.

hi first time watcher here, so am confusing myself looking at the Royaltons in DR there seems to be about 5, if you go to the Royalton Splash do you have access to Royalton Punta Cana? is it the same hotel? is the Royalton Bavaro a totally different hotel? is the quality marked down in Royalton Splash or is Royalton Splash just the name of the water park? am just confusing myself looking at them all thanks in advance anyone who can help ( i have 2 boys ages 2/3 looking to go in May next year) is the kids "splash park" in a certain hotel or in the splash hotel or all in one?
Royaltin splash and royaltin punta Cana are basically same resort. Just two different sections with a 3 minute walk in between them. The splash contains the water park. The other side contains the beach. You walk back and forth as you like

Haha!!! We had this very conversation many times!!!!! We are “legit” in that we leave the pool for our bathroom breaks…however, when you see someone who is steady sipping and doesn’t leave for hours….well, let’s just say keep a wide radius from them lol

Yes that’s correct. But you have access from there to all parts of the splash and punts Cana sections as well
Hello and thank you for making this film. We are thinking about going next June with our two boys 10 and 15. I’ve been to punta Cana before without the kids and the hotel staff was like playing some voodoo crap on us like hanging a cross upside down, banging on the walls while cleaning rooms next door, throwing stuff at our door, and leaving piles of rocks at our door. It kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. This looks like so much fun for our boys though. Im just curious, did you honestly feel safe the whole time at this resort? Thank you.
We felt 100% secure. Not for a second sis we have an uneasy feeling 👍

Both. Of course the buffets you can just walk in. We made reservations most evenings however there were times when we would just show up and ask and if they weren’t too busy they would fit you in

was there seaweed on the beach
Very little. One night it was quite windy, and the next day there was seaweed. But not as much as I’ve seen on many other resorts. And they had the tractors out in due order and had it cleaned up👍

So there are two sections. The section where the water park is located is not where the beach is. You have to walk to the second section to access the beach. However, that section is immediately located on the beach.
And the walk is not far. Few minutes at most
