I bought this model 3 years ago along with the the Samsung refrigerator, stove and microwave. I had the dishwasher replaced within the first week and the replacement has been a challenge ever since. The refrigerator icemaker has never worked and freezes up. This has been an education in doing your homework before you buy. I found this site in an effort to self repair the dishwasher's latest challenge.
Yeah, it's unfortunate. These look great, but just don't perform all that well. Take a look at my review of the refrigerator....ua-cam.com/video/o9Lk-uw7LSM/v-deo.html
I just got this washer and installed it. Ran through a full load and it did a good job. Only complaint is that “normal” cycle took over 2 hrs. That seems really long? Our last washer was much faster. Also, I’ve never had a dishwater that I didn’t pre rinse off major food before putting in the dishes. I think most dishwashers will have problems cleaning with a lot of food left on the plates.
I have the same model and have none of the issues you speak off. Keep food out of the thing by not putting food in it. I use the top drawer for all kings of stuff. My dishes always come out clean and dry...
@@savingmillerwe were always taught to clean our plate, either by eating it or scraping any food into the trash. Dish washers were not made to remove chunks of food, they were made to sanitize and clean. But that is how I was raised. I just know mine does a fantastic job cleaning and drying the dishes and I didn’t agree with your statement. No harm no foul
I found your video while looking for instructions on how to adjust the middle rack. My husband lowered it so much i can't get my big cookie sheet in the bottom. I like the top rack. I use it for spatulas, big spoons, cup lids and measuring cups.. this holiday season i will also use it as a silverware rack so the bottom rack can have all the pots. As far as food at the bottom, no problem. We have a habit of rinsing before loading.
To solve the issue of chunks dishwashers are made to wash and sanitize basically all you should do is scrap extra food off plates and quick rinse in sink before placing in no need to scrub the dishes as long as they are fresh and you don't let the dishes sit with food for days it should make all your dishes spotless.
I'm not sure what your talking about. We have had the older model of the Stormwash for 8 years and it works perfect. You do have to use premium dish washer soap for it to work correctly, and that is explained in the instructions. I agree the Stormwash is a bit of a gimmick and we didn't use it after the first half dozen times, but overall I really don't understand your issues. In fact, we just ordered the new upgraded 39 dB model to replace the current one. There is the issue of food in the bottom, but if you don't rinse off your plates / bowls first, they make a version that has a built in disposal.
I've had this dishwasher for 1.5 years and loved it until last week when it started making a grinding noise. I've taken the inside apart and found very little debris inside and it's still making the noise which means, I have to either pull it out myself and get into the side panel or have a repairman come out. I'm having a repairman come out next week and am going to pay the trip charge and see where we go from there because I can't get the dishwasher out myself.
I agree looks good and has some good.features but doesnt clean well at all wish I had bought something else and samsung won't do anything either they said we were stacking wrong using wrong detergent nothing helped. Liked your video
how can you review portions of the dishwasher, complain about them, but admit you've never used them (3rd rack for example)? Also, storm wash only works if you choose the option on the control panel and it seems like you think it just is a feature that automatically happens. I'd also be curious to know what dishwasher detergent you're using.
Well, the third rack is generally useless. I'm aware of storm wash button, but it is also mostly useless. It's not that we don't use them, it's that they don't do anything useful, so we don't use them. See how that works?
Thank you for this review! I bought a model before this one (DW80K5050UG) and I can't stand it. It is now not working due to the buttons frozen and blinking so searching for a fix I came across your site. I am now doing research to find a new model. I think I will steer clear of Samsung!
I almost bought the stainless for my kitchen but the front is half plastic and scratched easily so I went with the LG instead. Everything was the same other than the handle
@@savingmiller still using my old Kenmore as the LG won't be installed until late August. Thanks for the followup on your review the info was very helpful as I was worried about some of the issues you see. I will say anything has to be better than my Kenmore it's 15 years old.
@ Carmelo Treviso we just bought the Samsung DW80R7060UG dishwasher (2-6-2021) and we absolutely love it. Sleek, modern, beautiful. It cleans like nobody's "biznit". They are refined like a Miele or Bosch brand. And at 42 decibels, my refrigerator makes more noise! The guy in this video obviously didn't read the instructions, based on how he is trying to load it.
Thanks for mention the storm wash is a gimmick and that having a food disposal is important. I think that top rack is important as for me utensils and stuff on a bottom rack is so annoying especially chopsticks.
Seem like you've had the same experience that I've had. Look at the back of the third rack; it gets disgusting. I've mine for about a year and a half. I'm about to replace it.
I have this dishwasher and it is not worth the money , not at all . It doesn't drain there is always at least 2 inches of water left in the bottom after a run . Also many times it will not even finish a run without getting a over level alert . I had a Samsung repair man in who told me there is something in the drain . The drain has been checked nothing there , if there was something blocking the drain I would think my sink wouldn't drain which it does just fine . Also there is often a grit left in the bottom , generally doesn't do a good job of washing dishes even after rinsing dishes before they go in . .Very frustrating , paid over $800.00 for it . Not worth the money !!! Thank you for the video .
I think you summed it up nicely. To be fair, our has been functioning properly, but of course we don't really use it much anymore since it doesn't clean very well. It sounds like yours is worse.
100% your dishwasher is going to stop washing well. Nothing good comes from the design of how that food debris screen is compared to the model that is removable.
@@savingmiller What a bummer. Our kitcheniad dishwasher with the non-removable screen and built-in disposal eventually clogged past point of no return. Only way to clean it, was remove entire dishwasher, turn upside down, and pull off pump assembly. Horrible horrible design. No way it wasn't intentional.
Samsung and LG need to stick to just making TVS…not dishwashers and appliances. Their reliability has proven this….yeah you gotta be really careful picking these new modern machines within the last decade or so dishwashers no matter what brand they ALL have declined downhill in reliability and performance. It’s sad, and washers, don’t even waste your money on a new one always go used and get something with mechanical controls and an agitator that fills to the top. It’s so sad to see these machines decline so hard….
I am now shutting OFF your video @ 8:15 FOR THE FACT THAT YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR MUG NOT FITTING IN THE TOP RACK ON THE SIDE ( AND THEN YOU PUT IT RIGHT IN WITH NO PROBLEM ) That displays that IT CAN BE DONE EASY just NOT in that one SMALL place..... " Thank you for your time....BUT NO THANK YOU " Have a nice day. PS....I bet that it cleaned out your check book very well!! lol!

I love the top tray in my dishwasher. I use it every wash.
Thanks for the heads up. Was looking at this but not anymore!
I had to buy this for the same reason as you. It’s matched the crappy Samsung appliances I already had.

Yes, a common problem. But the Fisher & Paykel we had always did a great job. Should have stayed with the one that worked.
I have the same model and have none of the issues you speak off. Keep food out of the thing by not putting food in it. I use the top drawer for all kings of stuff. My dishes always come out clean and dry...
Yeah, gotta keep the food out for sure. So.....that basically makes it a dish rinser, right?

Dose your dishwasher door open up when it’s drying ??
I think it only opens when it's done with the drying cycle. But it does open at the end for sure.
What model is that?
It's the number at the end of the title.
What are you talking about when it comes to angling the plates? Sounds silly. I have this dishwasher and absolutely love it

You're right, that top rack does work well for utensils. We just forget to use it for some reason.
Stormwash isn't anywhere near of a gimmick as the WaterWall. And gimmick or not some of Samsung's dishwashers are simply bomb-ass machines.
