In this episode, Elle discusses how hating women has become trendy using Caleb Hammer's financial audit videos as an example. She expresses concern about how society pits women against each other and the dangers of internalizing misogyny from viewing such content. She argues that the popularity of misogynistic content is a reflection of societal values rather than the creators themselves. Elle also discusses the defense of financially successful men while women pursuing the same success are often criticized. She emphasizes the importance of acknowledging human nature and not allowing anger overpower us. Towards the end, Elle discusses the balance between individualism and collectivism, suggesting that stepping into an authentic version of oneself is not at the expense of others but also not at their mercy - INDIVIDUATION.

I went on his show before he started doing the overtly misogynistic thumbnails. I listened to him on my way to work, and it was my first introduction into the world of personal finances at all. It was incredibly humiliating afterwards, but I honestly didn’t think it would be. Basically I cried on the show because my lack of finances was tied to not being able to leave my abusive home. My dad is very abusive to my mom and he was abusive to me when I lived there. I went for genuine financial advice. I didn’t even go on for marketing or anything, but soooooo many of the comments were misogynistic and commenting on my looks. The older men kept writing that I need an older man to take care of my finances. I honestly didn’t know the comments would be so misogynistic, because this was before these new thumbnails. It was also before that young mom went on.

Basically I went on because I wasn’t in a good mindset and I was just desperate to get out of that abusive situation. Looking back, maybe that aggression felt comfortable and inviting to me because of how I grew up and where I was at. Part of me wants to go back on now that I’m in a good place and have my finances in order to prove people wrong, but the other part doesn’t know what kind of thumbnail or portrayal of me there would be.

Women also get hated on instagram for no reason. A woman can simply exist wearing normal clothes and someone will call her fat, skeleton or other degrading names and usually men are the ones doing this. There was a trend of mens instagram comments and womens instagram comments and how mean men are and nice women are and men say that hating on other is just being brutually honest while women are lying... Or the car accident videos, where there may be a female passenger or driver and they scream because they’re seeing their life flash before their eyes. Like there are some that scream excessively but why do they hate so much that women express their fear or danger with screaming. They don’t give that same energy when it’s a male driver and they even assume that the one driving is a woman even if it’s not. It’s statistically proven that men, especially those who are younger, drive the most recklessly, but they’d rather blame women.

Countless of men have demanded that, at 22, I drop out of school, trust them, “be vulnerable” and just be with them.
Yet most men have no desire to be kind, chivalrous, or protect ANY woman. And for the longest time I’ve had to convince myself that I am the exception to the rule and will be treated well if I do what men want. I’ve yet to see the day that men don’t dislike SOMETHING a woman is doing. Being well educated and having standards and boundaries almost makes men incredibly mad and angry towards me. The biggest lie society has ever told about men and women is that men are logical, women are emotional. Humans in general can be emotional and logical, sometimes at the same time.
For example, tell a man to scrap the first car he bought as an adult and watch him get sentimental about it. That car objectively, is just a piece of metal, rubber and glass but to him, that car represented a time in his life when he had nothing and had to build himself up. All the journeys to his first job, picking up his dates, all the breakups he's been through, all the journey back home to his parents during thanksgiving. It is reliable and it was there when he needed it the most. To him that car is more than just a car, it's a part of him. Now tell me, how is this man not emotional?

My Brother just got his car scrapped.. It was the car he spent his prime years driving around...

He was so literally in tears because it was getting scraped and it was the last drive..I felt so bad for him but our car was old and would be financially disastrous if we didn't do it.
My brother is one of the strongest men I've ever seen but he's such a gentleman and understands the value of emotions.. He'll never call crying or normal human emotions 'weakness'..
My standards are high because there aren't many men like my brother..

I used to be absolutely terrified of being forced to interact with misogynistic men. Watching society celebrate misogyny led me to believe that I would someday be coerced into a relationship with a man who would inevitably degrade me or see me as inferior. I am still breaking down so many limiting beliefs in this area of my life, and I am so grateful for your videos, because with each Spoiled Girlie Support Group Session, I come to realize my inherent value and worth in society. My entire belief system around men and dating has changed.
I am proud to be someone who will accept only kindness, respect, gentleness, and princess treatment. I am no longer afraid of misogynistic men, because I simply will not allow them in my life. I only allow kind, caring, generous, gentlemen into my world. Basic human decency is below the bare minimum. Princess treatment is my new bare minimum.
I think it is incredibly profound to practice radical acceptance. I don’t waste time being mad at people who I cannot change anymore. I observe people who do not align with me with as much empathy and kindness as I can. I think choosing to curate your own experience as opposed to spending time getting angry about others has ripple effects. We change the world by changing ourselves. We aren’t selfish for bettering our own lives, because when we are happy, safe, and engaging with soft, loving relationships, we glow. We glow, and we show others that it is possible to be happy, safe, and engaged in soft, loving relationships. Be love to create love, create love to spread love. 💖

I actually watched the "dumb stripper" video and she wasn't even dumb or making a ton of bad choices or decisions. The comments also point out how weird and clickbaity the thumbnail was. From what i have seen, Caleb is blunt to men and women that come his show, but finance shows do tend to have a big misogynistic men fan base. He is definitely playing into that since it gets more views.

I'm not defending any of the choices but the thumbnails and titles are decided on and green lit by and with the guests. Now you could argue that there's a power differential or there's incentive to just go with it but I'm not in a position to be patronizing and get offended on her behalf or judge her okaying it. I was supposed to be on a financial audit episode of his, but the guests aren’t compensated at all, and I would’ve had to choose spending money on a bus ticket and spending the night at a bus station just to be humiliated by Caleb for an hour instead of using that money for rent. And I ended up looking at his comment sections and seeing how much hate there was for his guests that he didn’t bother removing. I realized since he expects the guests to pay for transportation there and back home just to be humiliated that he’s literally profiting off of their trauma. I’m so glad I never went through with it, and I’m pretty disgusted by the thought that I even considered going. He’s not actually helping anyone and his fanbase is incredibly hateful, just like he is. Last week I received another email from his team asking me to join a call with them to talk more about my situation, even though months ago they already wanted me to be a guest and clearly I’m not interested. It’s nice to see someone finally calling him out because he’s absolutely disgusting and I don’t see enough people talking about that.

They benefit from their wives' free labor and build wealth and yet want to force their wives if they ask for a divorce to leave without their fair share. They have contempt for sahms even though they want it, ask for it, get on here and exclaim about the healthiness and holiness of Trad wives and marriages. But they do not value it at all.

Imagine all women would just collectively withdraw from such content, don't consume it, don't interact with it, don't take part in it, don't show up anywhere near it and leave the men to do their own thing. Then they can say whatever they want, but we're not gonna be a part of it. I wonder if they're gonna miss us or if they're gonna feel the sting of being left in a place that is devoid of women. Maybe then they would change their tune, because in the end they need us or else they're only gonna be amongst other men. Also, some people just like drama and love to argue, so why not let these men argue with each other. I bet it's gonna get boring real fast when they're not getting any backlash anymore.
No amount of words is gonna make any difference anyway, so long as they're benefiting off of it. I vote for silent retreat, even those who are trying to hold against it, because every view and every comment you write still benefits the creator and shows him that he should make more such content. Personally, I don't go anywhere near content that I don't wanna support by giving it views, much less interacting with it. That's my power as a consumer.
Sadly, we don't all agree on this, so I guess that's never gonna happen.

I absolutely LOVE how your channel is such a safe space for us women, it's probably the only one I can think of right now. No matter where you go, wheather it's instagram, twitter, youtube etc. there's hate and terrifying comments about women EVERYWHERE. No matter if it's a harmless video about traveling, working out, animals, cooking, fashion, there are tons of insulting, disgusting, scary, thr3atning, p3do comments by m3n. I don't want to open any kind of comment section anymore because I already know how it will look like and that I'll feel bad afterwards. So thank you SO much Elle!

I commented on a video of Caleb's where the title was 'woman can't stop going on cruises' but the sad reality was she was being taken advantage of by her grown family members.
His original title was intentionally demeaning and belittling of the woman who chose to go on the show.
People in the comments were calling it out and surprisingly the title was changed.
A guy responded to me that the people on the show help choose the title.
I find it hard to believe woman are like, 'sure call me stupid and dumb in the title'. 🤦‍♀

I just want to say thank you, I've been hearing your classes since like 3 months ago and I want to say it feels really good knowing that other women think like me, even if I'm not a women (I'm only a 16 years old girl) I want to help other girls, the last year in philosophy class I would always end up trying to explain ti some dumb boys what even is feminism, didn't work since they are dumb but my teacher really likes my enthusiasm for women's topics and other girls like to hear me. But knowing that there is our space for the spoiled girlies is really refreshing, even if I'm just a girl I think is best if I start to hear other women instead of some misogynistic men. So your content was absolutely refreshing to see. I love your terms, i love the spoiled girly club and I love the no-nonsense behavior. I also have a hard of hearing friend who is also like been super depressed with the women hate and you putting sub titles on your videos to make them more accessible to people with disabilities is so nice. I very rarely see creators who make 30+ minute videos do that.
A lot of these men like caleb are going to end up with no fans because they are upping a male dominated community, like you are so right, men are not community-driven. Women are ride or die for their creators. Once the dust settles people are going to see how stupid their content is.

I did notice a shift in which he started calling his guests babies and stupid but the more misogynist titles are the end for me. Its sad seeing the shift he is going, because before his videos taught me to be more self-reliant while also having more compassion for my mental health. In his earlier videos he was more sympathetic to people who were struggling with depression and anxiety since he too had a hard time with his mental health which affected his finances. Idk whats happened in his current videos since I stopped watching him once I got my stuff together.

I stopped advocating for males when I saw that they did not advocate for us. They love it when we help them, of course, but do they ever advocate for us? No, they very seldom do. They only bring up male issues in response to female struggle. To silence us.

i'm a philosophy girlie and absolutely adore the way you explore such polarizing, binary, and psychologically primitive content/ideas with nuance and emotional intelligence 🥺i was actually just unpacking to my male partner a few days ago about a boss and his ethic of "tough love". cruel honesty is easy, but to call one's conduct 'tough love' means holding the responsibility of loving another (in addition to honesty). so many forms of 'tough love' are not loving at all, honesty is not delivered with tact or care. because, in a capitalist/individualist society, we'll gladly pay the honesty we owe to each other but forget that we owe love, too.
also the dialectic synthesis between individualism and collectivism (love carl jung!) had me cheering yessssss we need this kind of discourse, gives me hope :')

So I had to go and check, and by scrolling just even a little bit, I can tell that you are absolutely right. The titles with women are a lot more degrading on the person (calling THEM dumb, delusional, manipulating) while in the mens case the titles are more about their situation (this is a mess, refuses to pay taxes, HIS EX destroyed his life??!!) and the worst thing they are called are immature. This content has always existed. From Reckless Tortuga and Tommy Sotomayor and Black Pigeon Speaks (who literally had a video essay about why women shouldn’t be allowed to vote that got like 70k likes and over 3million views), to PewDiaPie and Aba and Preach and Sargon of Akaad (who once had a scream rant defending Elliot Roger and blaming his attack on feminism), etc.
I feel old but I’ve been online long enough to notice that males online have always been openly hateful of and hostile towards women, and gleeful about them being harmed and have been able to create content expressing their misogynistic feelings and dehumanizing insults to glowing success and with much popularity. Like, “misandrists could never” I always thought.
Speaking of which, who remembers the “thot destroyer” meme where they used a clip of a little boy hitting his older sisters (who were still little girls) with a bat as the representation for being a slayer of “thots”? And I absorbed all of this slowly but constantly over the years and unconsciously learned from it that the male sex is pretty awful and hateful of my sex but most of the girls and women around me seemed blind to it or excusing of it and were never willing to agree with me or say anything critical about the male sex and their toxic “locker room” socialization. Women even said that I was being a “feminazi” to say that men often don’t really like women, and that most just like service and sex from them.
So what I notice is different all these years later is that you exist. And that so many of you gen z and younger millennial girls exist and are calling it out. I felt like I was so alone in calling it out over a decade ago. So it’s like… yeah Andrew Tate exists but so did Tommy Sotomayor 15 years before him. And so did “Straight Men Respond to: Gay Men Will Marry Your Girlfriends” 10 years before him. Men have always collectively hated women. I love that girls are realizing and reacting more appropriately to this reality now. I feel like a semblance of a sisterhood actually exists now though it could stand to be A LOT stronger.

Subscribed. I needed to hear this so bad, everywhere I turn I'm seeing so much hate towards women, navigating men sometimes feels like walking on broken glass, so thankful I found this channel feels like I'm not going crazy for once and have found kindred like minded ladies and its like a breath of fresh air! Much love and good will from Canada ♥
