I was at this and remember it vividly how hard his band worked not knowing what he was going to do next, going off on solos and forgetting his lines, not his greatest hour, but hey, still the very best artist of all time
I was there too. It was all a massive shock. No clue what song he was playing, couldn't see him in the hoodie, and the gap between the support band and Bob seemed to last a lifetime. Came away thoroughly nonplussed.
I've been listening to this every other day for the last few years. (Yes, it's a little crazy) This is the essence of Dylan's performing act. The phrasing, the roughness and the whole feel of the song - I love it. There is no better version of Water is wide in the whole world!
This one just appeared upon my homepage deal. ... Glad it did. Not often I hear Dylan material that's new to me nowadays. Not exactly the vocal quality of Fragments, yet still a treat. - Thanks as always for your time & efforts with your uploads. ... Great channel 🎉
Thank you Wools! This is great to see and hear! I totally love this, despite some of the negative remarks. It’s up to Bob what he wears and what he sings and not his fans! First, I think he looks cool! Second he sings this with great passion and is believable! Bob is great here and so is the band! 🙌Happy weekend to you Wools. 🤍
Come back in First RTR time! That duet with Joan!! Anyway, Also this performance Is sublime!. This popular folk ballad, Is just in his own chords. No doubt about this. Great work of G.E. & Kenny to!.
Bastards in the audience talking all through the song. Why I don't go to concerts any more. Why pay to be angered? 'Ten thousand whisperin' and nobody listenin'' somebody once said.

Thanks for the recording. Forgot G. E. Smith was with him. I went to see The Waterboys the following night at the Olympia. Great weekend. Did Bono join Dylan on stage that night. Can't remember.
@Nicholas Fadely The hat is known in Ireland as a paddy cap; in Scotland as a bunnet; in Wales as a Dai cap; and in the United States as an English cap, Irish cap, or flat cap.
Love this, fantastic delivery and phrasing that only Bob folk can get

YES! I will do that from now on! ❤️
I agree.
My first Bob Dylan concert 3rd June 1989, he played 2 concerts in Dublin, that weekend, this was the first of the two.
Damn, this is so good!
Thank you so much . The water is wide is for a long time one of my favourite songs by Bob
It's a Scottish folk song

PAS POSSIBLE D AVOIR AUTANT DE TALENT IL EST FOU CET HOMME LA MUSIQUE EST TOUT POUR LUI GENIAL MERCI
Brilliantly eccentric as ever!! I seriously doubt they rehearsed that... especially the ending.
He kind of found this English folk song in the vaults, and made it more known. I also agree.
Outstanding
Love Hoodie Dylan.

He joined him on stage the next night. Bob wore totally different gear , no hood. I was at that show.
Yes for heaven's door
Transcendent
Bob in "da hood" ... 🥰
Dylan at 1:39 ❤️
Dylan looks like Mary Magdalene. He is glad to be in Ireland.
I would like to know what he had stuffed in the hood of that hoodie., surely it’s not a ball cap.

Lookin like Eminem
