By far this is the best video i have seen for after market fat spoke wheels using a slider hammer. The front wheel i have has no real estate for me to use a bearing puller. But this confirmed i can use a slide hammer.. thank you

Where did you get the Spacers? I am doing the same thing on the 16" rear wheel non abs bearings to abs can't find spacers or the tube. is that a kit?

Should the outer rim of the bearing where it contacts the wheel be lightly greased? I’ve seen both ways, greased and installed right out of the box without grease.

I found out that, when the bearing is pushed inside the hub, and the inner ring of the bearing hits the spacer, the bearing is already to far, or not far enough. The spacer is rarely exactly the proper lenght, what will cause axial tension on the bearing. When the bearings are pushed in, and the spacer is still loose, then the innner rings of the bearings will be pressed inside, by the outer spacers, when secure the axle. The same thing will cause, only the other way around, when the inner spacer is to long, and that will cause axial tension on the inner ring of the bearing to the outside.
I measured the inner spacer, and it should be the right lenght, but when i pressed in the bearings, i could not turn the bearings by hand. The spacer pushed against the inner rings of the bearings, causing so much tension, that they where locked. I had to pull the bearing out again, and then, pushed it, bit by bit, until the inner ring touched the spacer , and still could turned freely by hand. So it's not just, push them in and, there i fixed it.

sometimes the only way to learn the proper procedure is when you Hear a "THUMP" The first time you do it.

I guess those lock washers won't work as spacers? Dang and I thought the lock washers were faulty.

Spend $60 for an installation tool! Hammering bearings into a $1500 wheel?
