My granddaughter who we’ve adopted is heavy meat keto since we’ve had her at 2 years old. She was exposed to heroin in utero. You would not know it today at 4 years old.
She is so so smart. She is in K4 at a private school and goes all day. She is so well behaved. She has no behavior issues. That’s not common with kiddos that come from hard places.

We adopted a beautiful girl with Down syndrome from china, she was almost 3yo. She was progressing beautifully, super intelligent girl learned 400 ASL signs in 3 months, her speech was emerging, she could recite the whole alphabet & numbers 1-10. She sang in her cute babble and dancing was her most favorite. This girl loved music! Loved to color, ride her bike, engage in meaningful ways with her siblings. She was ahead of her non-adopted peers in many skills, she soaked up every skill I taught her. We were blown away & absolutely smitten with her. About a year & a half later we began seeing strange behaviors, we thought she was having silent seizures but no seizure activity was found. She lost her speech, began to moan, flapped her hands, rolled her eyes, tensed her body in strange ways, & would stare at empty walls & want no engagement with her family. She no longer dances, sings, uses sign & she can no longer produce speech aside from simple yes or no she simply moans. Her brain seems to disconnect a lot throughout the day, she looses gained skills & forgets daily routines she had previously mastered. We were devastated to loose a huge part of our child who was very happy & engaged. Blooming. Now she just lives her silent stimmy life. She is still a happy girl, but she’s a fraction of the child we once knew her to be. (I cry as I write this) We have done many medical tests, gone though extensive protocols, tried expensive medical interventions (for instance 3 long difficult months of IVIG infusions) we have flown to see various specialists in the country, to no avail, we finally ended up receiving an autism diagnosis at age 5. But I know she doesn’t have autism because I have seen my girl when she first came home to us. She is not the same child. Something inside of her shut down. Turned off. I have videos of her speaking, using sign language, dancing & singing. My girl is in there somewhere, she emerges for split seconds here & there. But 95% of her days she is trapped inside of herself. She is 9.5 today. Last week I began to eat carnivore due to some joint inflammation & chronic bloat, searching podcasts, UA-cam & joining an online support group I am learning that autism spectrum disorder is being treated through this lifestyle & I am blown away. Today I found your video about how you feed your child & I am feeling the hope which has been lost for so long. I am desperate to help my girls thrive again. Help us bring our daughter back to herself. Help our girl thrive again!

I’m almost 40 and I am autistic. I started carnivore diet a month ago and within days I started to see relief from some of my autism symptoms. I’m still very much autistic, but I LEFT THE HOUSE. My anxiety is lower and I haven’t had regular meltdowns due to the lights, sounds, excessive sensory triggers outside my home like usual. It has stunned me! I also have two autistic sons and am trying to slowly change their diet. Just removing sugar and seed oils helped with minor behavior issues. 💗 I have hope!

Same with our son with DS and autism. His pediatrician said he was “very high functioning” but at 2-2.5 yo he declined rapidly. I really feel it was shots. He is 18 now and nonverbal. We are trying to go lower and lower carb and more and more carnivore.

@@eSmay1990 trust me I know the struggle. I made sure to stock our house with meat and keto alternatives. Things like keto bread aren't great, but they are a good way to at least transition to a more strict keto. We got quite a few yummy fat bomb options at Costco as well. So we did do it cold turkey, but we made sure to stock things that he likes. Burger patties, meatballs with keto sauce...so you can still go cold turkey, but just with lots of yum options so it doesn't feel so restrictive. I know how difficult this is, I wish you the best. The old ways are engrained deep with the poor. I'm considered wierd for being carnivore, fasting 18 plus hours between big meals, eating organ meat, adding extra fat etc.

It's far too late for us to raise our children on keto, having known about this only since 5 years ago But: without forcing our 2 adolescent boys they moved into keto after an experience with the older boy. He was in his last year of lycée and ready to take the Baccalauréat. One day he came home really frustrated and annoyed with himself and said that he knew what to do on his mock exam but his brain just wouldn't function. I had known he always had trouble concentrating in class, but this was a big deal. After talking a bit more, he said his problem usually started around 11 o'clock. That rang a bell with my newly acquired insulin knowledge. I asked him to tell me on the weekend if he felt the same way, but would measure his blood sugar just before breakfast and then if/when he felt like his brain wasn't working. Like clockwork it happened at around 11 o'clock. His blood sugar measurement was well into the hypoglycaemic range. So I explained what was probably going on: his breakfast of sweet cereal, glass of orange juice and mug of hot chocolate was driving a big insulin spike which overshot a few hours later, due to that big sugar hit, into hypoglycaemia. I suggested he try keto, which he did. The results at school were instantaneous. He never once afterwards had problems concentrating. He got his baccalauréat with "Très bien" which is the best distinction. His younger brother saw that and decided to do likewise. That was 3 years ago and they are still doing keto with no arm twisting at all. Ok, they make exceptions for pizza parties but refuse even then to touch sodas and sweet desserts. They've both experienced the difference and don't want to go back.

I am a 1 year carnivore 55 year old woman- I and my husband have received great healing in all areas of of life through not taking in carbs. We are bringing our ten year old daughter up with these ideologies. But the world fights against us (as you know all too well Tim). I have recently refused to allow my daughter to eat a carb ladened school lunch- chicken nuggets, potato waffles and tinned sweetcorn and a dessert of an iced cake was what she was most recently offered. Total carbs of around 86g !!!!! in one children's meal!!! My daughter couldn't eat this rubbish and came home from school hungry. From then on I have packed her a lunch of steak, prawns and egg with a small bar of 85% dark chocolate- total carbs around 16g. She's happy, satiated and well balanced. I received a letter home from school last week. The letter stated that I was not allowed to pack 'chocolate' in my child's lunch box. I was ordered not to send her to school with the 85% dark chocolate again. I, of course challenged this, but rules are rules and I was forced to remove the chocolate from my daughter's lunch box. Never worry, I wrote to the head, 'my daughter can easily go without the 16g of carbs in her daily bar of 85% dark chocolate, I agree not to pack this again in her lunch box,at least she is not forced to eat the 86g of carbs on offer from the school's processed, nutrition devoid excuse for food'. As TS Elliot in 1950 said "Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important, they don't mean to do harm, but the harm does not interest them."

I’ve always been a sugar addicted yoyo dieter, losing and gaining the same 30-50 lbs. over and over. I had plenty of carbs through all three of my pregnancies, although I tried to control it as much as an addict can. Carbs helped alleviate my morning sickness that would pop up at various times during the day/night. I ate a lot of Grape-Nuts!! After each was born, I continued with varying levels of success to control it as I nursed. The first was two when he quit because my supply dried up from being pregnant with the second. I tandem nursed the second as he continued throughout my third pregnancy and for five months afterwards. I didn’t try to wean him because he needed several surgeries before and after the third was born. He was almost three when I was able to wean him. Who knows how long my daughter would’ve nursed if she hadn’t accepted what told her before her birthday- that three year olds don’t nurse. Lol While I’m sure the sugar/carbs I ate weren’t the best for them, I still feel confident that my breast milk was much better than any formula I could’ve given them!!
On a side note, none of them would take a bottle of my milk or the free formula samples we received from the hospital. They all refused fake nipples and would’ve starved themselves before accepting a bottle- and believe me, my husband tried many times when I’d make a quick trip to the store just to get out for a bit!!
A note on pooping and diapers: On our first trip to my husband’s lab with our first, I packed six diapers, thinking that would be plenty for an hour and a half trip. While we were there, he pooped, then pooped again and again and again- we left when I put the last diaper on him. Total time away from home- two hours!!

Our baby is now 10 months old and we are highly highly considering ketovore for her and our family. From the beginning I’ve prepared all of her food and we try to give her as much organic food as we can. However, because of the “guidance” out there on how to feed our babies, I’ve been giving her not only proteins, vegetables, and fruits but also grains. Nothing ever processed or store bought! But man, the guilt has been more and more present when I give her oatmeal after learning more about this.
Do you happen to have a video on how to transition her from that sort of diet to a ketovore diet? Will she go through a Keto flu/fog and how do we deal with it? Do we need to supplement her electrolytes? I’m a complete novice so I want to make sure I go about this correctly.
Also, what is your take on common food allergens and introducing them “early and often” as you see being recommended everywhere? With ketovore, most of those things are eliminated completely. So what could happen if in the future she doesn’t want to continue a ketovore lifestyle? This entire time of introducing solids to her I’ve been thinking “I HAVE TO introduce all the common allergens to her..” it’s so challenging to get rid of that belief when it’s been drilled into our heads.

When my children were approximately 3 months old I started giving them beef jerky to chew on do the fact that they had already started teething.
Child 1 drank breast milk until she was a year old
Child 2 drank breast milk until 4 months. Had issues. Wish I had changed Dr now. Too late though.
Child 3 drank breast milk until 18 months.
Approximately at 2 months old I would put whatever we were eating in a blender with a little bit of milk and polarize it for them to start eating.
My children ate extremely healthy when living at home as we were raising them.
People could not believe all of the cheese and milk that we went through. There was also a lot of fresh vegetables that were served to them.
I guess one reason I was so Ticky over what they ate was due to the German Oma (grandmother) that would instruct me while we were in Germany. There was many times that not only would she give food for the children but when she found out that I was pregnant she always insisted upon me eating certain foods to be healthy.

I have 12 yr twins and a 14 yr old all girls. This is what I did at my house. I stopped buying anything with carbs/sugar and once what was already here was gone that was it. I told them they are allowed to eat whatever they want outside of home but at home no sugar or carbs. They eat school lunch and occasionally eat out with grandma. Did this in March of this year. This has definitely made a difference. They are low carb not keto but I’m ok with it. 14yr old has taken well to this lifestyle the twins struggle sometimes. But they have learned to eat when hungry and how too many carbs make them feel bad. I do buy them fruit on occasion mostly berries. I have allowed them to experiment with making keto desserts but for the most part they have accepted this lifestyle. They have lost 25 lbs collectively. My hope is that I am teaching them the life skills to never have to deal with health issues that I have had to fix.

I wish I had known when they were young as it would have been much easier to have never had to remove bad things if they didn’t have them to start with. All I can do is stay strong and encourage better habits and hope for the best because ultimately they will have to make their own choices as to their diet.

My daughter is living with Down syndrome. Last week I attended a party in her class. For her snack, she was given Fruit juice, chocolate milk, yogurt (I'm sure this was not sugar free), fruit, cheerios and carrots. She ate almost all of it. I was in complete SHOCK and DISGUST! This was a "snack"? Not a meal. Talk about sugar and starch overload! The lunch meal would be served in the next 2 hours. No wonder she's hungry all the time when she comes home from school. We had the option of taking our children home after the party....which I sure did!!! I am on day 56 of Carnivore. Trying to heal Crohn's and Celiac. As of NOW, I will be sending all of my daughters' food to school and her diet will be KETO/Carnivore. Good Gosh! I am looking forward to seeing improvements in her weight, energy and cognitive skills.

My oldest child is a picky eater. But my second and third child are not. I breastfed my oldest until she was 9 months old, at that point I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and I quit producing milk. She then had rice cereal, all the package baby foods and formula.
My second and third child were conceived after I started the keto diet and they ate eggs bacon and avocados for breakfast every morning and other ketogenic meals throughout the day.
My second child asks for More skin from chicken and salmon. She also asks for the fat from steak. It's so strange to people who aren't in our home on a daily basis. She craves these things because her little brain needs it.
If I make pasta potatoes or rice My second and third children do not even touch them they don't like them. But my first child will eat it up and say that she loves when I make those things.
What foundation you give your child truly impacts how they nourish their bodies.
My fourth baby is 6 months old and recently started blending up omelettes for him. He tries to say more when I'm feeding him and I believe it's because he's getting real food instead of mashed up apples and bananas. He'll eat mashed up apples and bananas all day long but when I feed him omelettes or cottage cheese He's able to tell me he's full with his body language and he is full for a very long time.
I nursed him yesterday morning and then fed him an omelet And he wasn't hungry until for a very long time which was very convenient since we were in the car for 3 hours+
