Hell Hole Gorge is a beautiful little park, one of those gems in out of way places. If you're looking to head off the well worn path and explore, visit the Expedition Centre for your 4x4 touring gear at www.expeditioncentre.com.au
Brett, I have just discovered your brilliant channel and surprised you haven't got more subscribers. Your narration and story telling is amazing and you give us a true sense of soul of what the outback is like when we are watching from our screens. I look forward to watching the remaining videos on your channel and get up to date as to where you're at in your Defender. Well done mate. Kev!
“Why? Because it’s there”...awesome, mate. It’s not the Everest, but the reason to climb it can oerfectly be the same one...cheers. Nice video, as usual...👏🏻👏🏻
Great video Brett, thanks for taking us along. I love that you don't fill every moment with blaring music so we get to appreciate the sounds of the outback. Keep up the great work!
Great to come across a channel with a tonne of information and amazing locations. Also nice to not have someone try to sell all the equipment they are using, regardless of quality. Keep it up Brett
What a peaceful place I never knew existed. Great video and as usual very informative Brett. I love the look of your damper Brett. I read the comments below about the oven, it looks like a really good thing...
Another superb destination mate, and some rugged beauty along the way. Agreed, those bull dust holes can catch you unawares, and do some serious damage. Your vehicle is going to carry some of that dust around with you forever now,but that's okay. All the best, and we'll see where you end up next👍👍😊
Good stuff Brett. Its great to see you going where ever the whim takes you. Thank you for sharing this wonderfully beautiful country with us. Hooroo for now. :)
Hey Brian.. I can if I can film them.. Unfortunately, that takes a lot of sitting and waiting and I only had 3 days in Hell Hole. Thinking of spending a week or more in my next park though so if there's any wildlife around I'll try and film it. Thanks.
That's some awesome trail driving! Looks like a lot of fun would love to do some trekking like that. I enjoyed the video and love your land rover defender.👋😎👍
Brett, i was reflecting on your solo travels, the risks and how time alone can influence your moral and confidence; particularly in the evenings. But when I saw how much dinner you cook I suspect you have help with video editing!
Brett after you get home your next job is to write a Roaming the Outback Recipe Book. Seriously though it would be great if you give us a run down on the oven and your thoughts on it. As I'm from from Vic I had no idea that there were such great places to go in QLD so its off to the shop to purchase some decent Hema maps and i'll head up that way as soon as I get the chance. Again thanks for another great episode. Cheers Graeme
I intend to do a full review in the future for the oven, just waiting till I cook up a lot more dishes to get all the timings and see what it can really do. Thanks.
Great find ! Gotta love little gems like this , if you get up north further give me a yell will put you onto a few spots . Am just back from a trip to the gulf country the bulldust is crazy at present think i dis about 200 plus k of it up to the sills in places on a D1 . Handy hint a Donaldson style precleaner is worth its weight in gold saves the airfilter from clogging up , have gone from changing air filter every 2000k to 8000k in dusty conditions
Thanks Pete, some good advice there. I've been thinking of getting at least a foam precleaner, just need to find one in a store. Dust sounds pretty deep. Will see how my trip progresses. Still no idea as such where I'll end up at what time. Just seeing where the road takes me.
Those foam things are more of a gimmick than anything, reduces air flow , messy , and costly from memory the Donaldson one i have cost $40 2 years ago and can be picked up at most ag gear , truck spares places takes all of a minute to clean them out they are rated at removing 80% of heavy particles, you just have to remember to clean them out after coming off the dirt . You can also get a spinner style that does the same thing it is fit and forget . I prefer the bowl as no moving parts . Cheers
Great to see more likes and comments here. About time your efforts were rewarded. Your editing and continuity seem to be getting better and better. it must add a fair bit to your trip lengths to find and set up the camera locations to maintain that sense of following along with you on the journey. I know some other channels have support vehicles and a few camera crew to achieve it.
Thanks mate. Yes it's a lot of work to get all the shots to flow together.. it shows. Will see how long I can keep it up. For videos longer than this it may be too much to edit alone.
Hey Brett. Is your camp oven 12v or run off inverter. How do you find it goes on energy consumption? Brand? Thanks....just saw comments below re power. Thanks
I travelled around by myself for a while but found it too lonely. Maybe your camera keeps you company? It would be good to see a video on why and what you enjoy about being in such isolated areas by yourself.
Stephen Mabbs thanks. After a while of traveling the outback it all just became the same to me. Nothing special, just another place. But each to there own I guess.
No doesn't worry me.. I've had it 12 years. Almost everything has been rebuilt, replaced or upgraded. Generally speaking, it's reliable. I've only been trayed out of places like 4 times, only one of which was in the bush on Cape York. It has lots of little things that need attention on the side of the track. ie. this morning my driver side mirror glass fell out when I closed the door. First time that's happened, so will get my Araldite out and fix it.. Due to its simplicity I can generally diagnose any issues myself and fix it on site.
That bread looked great and that roast/stew was outstanding. I’m surprised it doesn’t drain your battery. What does it draw power wise? I thought you would only use it when underway with engine running. Great video thanks
Tasted great too. Only draws 6 amps per hour. Runs off my Lithium, which has 310W solar connected so during the day, I have no net loss from the batteries.
Hi there, great video, am a big fan , keep up the good work. Just a quick question please, in this video u made a dumper in an oven . I’m also chasing an oven that I can use inside the car (using a 12 volts power output, I’m sure ur one is also a 12V one too), can u please tell us what oven u r using, what brand? And is that made in Australia? And lastly, have u bolted it on the floor of ur vehicle? Or how u’ve kept it secured? Once again thank u so much for ur efforts and making awesome videos.
Roaming The Outback thanks for the info, did u drill holes in the oven for bolts ? And also , did u bolt it in the floor of car or on ur drawer system ?
Roaming The Outback , great, many thanks , I checked their website, they have a bigger oven now for sale , slightly bigger than the previous model . Many thanks for ur time, all the best

Brett my 130 is presently in the clutches of Daniel who is spinning his creative art and turning the old girl into an adventuring overlander.
I'm sure you'll love whatever magic Daniel casts upon it. Hope to do the same if I can get some cash together.
The world need people like you! Live your dream . Best regards from Norway and my Defender 😎
Thanks Espen, someone's gotta do it.

When I first watched this video I thought it was a great video. It still is a great video. And, it always will be a great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great reportage.
Great video Brett, thanks for taking us along. I love that you don't fill every moment with blaring music so we get to appreciate the sounds of the outback. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Robert. Yes I try to find a balance with music to allow the music to carry the story in sections, then allow space in others.
Thanks for your videos and all the time effort to make them. Can't wait for the next one cheers
You're welcome mate. Thanks.
Great to come across a channel with a tonne of information and amazing locations. Also nice to not have someone try to sell all the equipment they are using, regardless of quality. Keep it up Brett
Really enjoying exploring your home state with you Brett!
Still more to see too!
Thank you Very much ! I enjoyed it!
Great video Brett, just love the isolation that Aus has to offer... can’t wait for your Travel Buddy Oven review, your toast made me hungry
Thanks David.. review still a way bit off.. but I'll get some new recipes to try.
My stomach can’t wait lol
Thank you for replying. Are used to have a defender as well but change to a Lang cruiser 105 series
Defenders are waaaay cooler though 😉
Brett, your cooking skills have come a long way A+. So have your video skills, A+ quality and great work.
Thanks Rob.. yes trying some new things with my filming.
Very nice ,thanks.
Thanks John
Another corker mate - top notch! Love the wildlife shots - the one of the rock wallaby with the focus shift is pure class!

Thanks mate. I'm sure you can add a little something special to your recipe.
Beautifully shot

Great vid. You do find some very interesting places. Steve
Thanks Steve. Yes lots of little places I've never heard of hidden away in the outback.
another good one.. enjoyed, cheers
Thanks mate.
Brett, i was reflecting on your solo travels, the risks and how time alone can influence your moral and confidence; particularly in the evenings. But when I saw how much dinner you cook I suspect you have help with video editing!
Solo travel does have its benefits. Nope, all solo, just cook up big and any leftovers get put in the fridge for tomorrow.
I can't believe you used the indicator 4:00. Good to let the cattle know where you are going. haha
The last get away location devoid of people. My kind of location.
WOW. Another great vid , Not rushing must be good? Enjoy and take care.
Thanks Steve. Yes just taking my time.
Another awesome vid. Thanks for posting
Thanks for watching Mikulas.
Sitting here with no wind at 33 °C (91 °F), the beginning was quite funny ;P
Great Episode!
Thanks mate. Sound nice.
Another top video Brett well done! Looks like an interesting place to explore
Thanks Will, yes a little gem.
Yo - brett. Really neat video of hell gorge. Thanks. (From texas).
Nice work.. cover your Sultanas in flower before u add to the mix.. they will rise and not sit on the bottom of the damper
Hi,just wondering what the name of the oven is?? Ive looked on your website but cant find it ,,ps love your vids :)

Hey Marco. It is Somewhere out there by Caleb Etheridge. Thanks.

I also do solo trips in the outback and enjoy it. Have been meaning to visit Hell Hole NP.
You'll have to pick a date and make it happen!
love it. wish i could find a 4x4 in my budget i could trust to do this stuff
There are some great low-range equipped vehicles very cheap.
Suzuki Vitara
suzuki Jimny
Daihatsu Terios
Nissan Pathfinder
Nissan Terrano
Nissan Navara D21
Mitsubishi Triton V6
Mitsubishi Pajero V6
Land Rover Discovery

It certainly seems so. They all took a vacation till better times.
Instead of rock sliders you have a fuel tank! why???!
This is Australia. I need fuel more than rock sliders... not many rocks around the places I travel.

They better have Shadilay on the jukebox
