  • Having a best friend at work is one of the easiest elements to improve in Gallup’s Q12 employee engagement survey. Having meaningful social connections is one element of human nature that we can’t separate from work and the rest of our lives. Employees spend a lot of their time at work and therefore should seek out strong relationships with their coworkers. Having a best friend at work leads to more trust, better handoffs, creative discussions and more.

do I ever have a reply for this guy? !!!!! I worked at a temp. job where most of the employees were Latino's and they spoke to each other in Spanish only. They TOLD me that I should never even try to make any friend out of any co-worker especially Latino's. Well isn't that a terrible thing to tell another person. But that was their attitude. They wanted to hurt me and they did. I was fired from that Temp. Job and a couple other Temp jobs after that.
Let me tell you that Temp Employers are the worst employers in THE WORLD>.

I partially agree with your viewpoint. Having transitioned from being an employee to a contractor myself, I've noticed over my four years of experience that toxicity in the workplace isn't always solely attributed to the employer. Sometimes, it's the behavior of certain employees that fosters a toxic environment for temporary workers. This negativity often stems from a mindset influenced by the conventional classification of employment types. Unfortunately, many coworkers fail to recognize the value of temporary employees and view them as expendable rather than appreciating them as valuable contributors.
I consider myself fortunate to be working for an employer who acknowledges and defends my performance, even when others undermine it solely based on my employment status. As long as they require my services, I intend to continue working as a temporary employee for this employer.
