Not really desktop speakers that's just an external speaker; On a side note it's a very nice one, I have a Flip3, a Clip 2, and a Pulse and JBL always has nice products
We've gotten to the point where we need RGB API's instead of a different brands of software for each device: keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, sound bar, and PC.
i dont own this yet, but i gotta say, this must be the best pc "gaming" soundbar ive seen so far. just taking a loot at the software really shows how catered to pc users/gamers this thing really is. i dont know how common it is for soundbars to have built in or proprietary software, but this type of interface is so familiar to me and looks very premium, and makes perfect sense, coming form the fact that this company specializes in *sound cards.* not to mention the fact it has really nice rgbs built into it, which you can argue is at least a $20 value. i didnt want this for the rgbs, although it deifnitely caught my eye, and by the looks of it, this rgb is perfectly subtle and customizable. and from what ive heard is the sound is also superior, while the soundbar itself is not too long, which, i for one, did not want a 40" long bar, so the fact this one is just a tad bit smaller is perfect for me. *edit:* how is the wall mounting capability/potential on this thing? i plan to wall mount this under my 49" 4k smart tv(which is also wall mounted), and i want to have it kind of sandwiched in between my mounted tv, and my ultrawide pc monitor, sort of like how frank has in his setup *edit again:* is it possible to have this hooked up to 2 different sources simultaneously, and listen to them at the same time? not literally the same time, but like for example, can i have this hooked up to my pc via usb, while then having it hooked up to my 49" 4k smart tv via hdmi? and in orer to switch between pc & tv, would i have to switch the imput/source on the soundbar?
I just ordered mines from Amazon it coming in this week. I have so much plans for this Creative Sound BlasterX Katana Soundbar. Looking to also get me a 128 Gig USB Flash Drive Dedicated to it @ all times on the be removed for updating new songs to it. Music, Movies & Gaming will be it main job for me with Music being @ the head of the list. I got to hear what everyone is raving about with this volume & how loud it gets I need to hear it for myself. Previous speaker was a Sound Blaster Roar & I love it as well as my friends. I am sure they all gonna love this one when I show it off & it prowess. Also need to a TosLink SP/DIF cable as well for when I am watch movies on the SmartTV's as well. Can't to have mines.
Holy crap, so many haters. Frankly, I like the idea of a smallish sound bar in my set-up. I do more than just game and want minimal, stylish, and good enough quality speakers for when I'm doing things other than gaming--and having one unit instead of two (and the associated wires) is perfect for my set-up. I can turn off the RGBs and get on with my life, or I can customize them to match my PC and add some ambience. Nothing wrong with that. I'm not looking for the highest quality audio, or the greatest gaming experience; I'm looking for a combination of quality, style, and function that suits my taste, budget, and needs. I'd like them to be a little less expensive, too, but it's a free market, and I'm sure they will be available here and there for less. But yes, of course there are better options for people with other needs...as is the case with virtually everything.
Love / hate.... I love it!! My next build will be ALLL RGB LIGHTING. Aurora ASUS Motherboard, NZXT RGB fans, ASUS aurora GPU, NZXT RGB AIO COOLER, NZXT HUE and one of them corsair tempered glass case. #masterpiece. #needtogetajob
youve sold me on this! im including this is in my setup even though its going on a corner desk ill figure out how to put it on my desk with my two 20" monitors in the corner... i dont have any of it yet but i will be getting it once i get my first job
Yes apart from the price. I have the razer soundbar which is missing the RGB and also somewhat annoying control features. Also Frank sorry to complain but bu'ons has 2 T's in it....
Would you recommend this unit over the Audio Engine A5+? I'm getting rid of my Klipsch Media Pro 2.1 due to needing a smaller sub or a 2.0 that can get into the lows.
is it really that much better than the leviathan? the katana has 15w more on the soundbar, and still has the same wattage on the sub. both have dolby processing. the katana has 7.1 virtual surround.
Frank you've done the nommo (chroma) as well. I'm stuck between these and nommos, considering the cost difference does the katana justify it's price in your opinion?
Can't wait to use this with my RGB keyboard, RGB mouse, RGB headphones, RGB mousepad, RGB monitor, RGB microphone, RGB cables, RGB camera, RGB chair, RGB PC case, RGB processor, RGB graphics cards, RGB motherboard, RGB water cooling, RGB desk, RGB water bottle, and the RGB RGB controller. What else should I get?
Hi. Would you consider this product better than other sound bars ? Such as JBL, Razer, etc. PS: I take it this is much better than the Razer Nommo thingie ?
Hardware canucks said that you need an optical cable for dolby surround. So the 24bit audio is possible for the micro b connector as well or do you need the audio cable
optical output need a review on this please, also you have another set of speakers hanging from the wall, do you have them all connected so they all play all at the same time? if so how?
Hey Frank!! So I just found out that Creative released a successor to the Sound Blaster KatanaX called Sound Blaster Katana V2. Just curious, any chance you'll be doing a review on that product? 😁
It's pointless to include that, you'd be hearing what my microphone recorded, then was compressed when edited, and compressed again through UA-cam, then played out of your headphones / speakers. It wouldnt sound anything like the actual soundbar's quality and wouldnt be a clear indicator at all lol.
I'm sorry but this just doesn't seem practical for gaming in my opinion. What mic are you going to use? Lets say you got an external mic. Will there be eco? Of course probably the worst part and most predictable... the price, $300. You could buy amazing gaming headsets for that price.
People like me can't wear headphones for longer than 30 minutes, because they make my ears hot and I don't like noise cancellation, and IMO the surround just doesn't compare to a 5.1 setup properly with sound treatments.
Thanks for the review. I also bought a Katana. I did find that the sub couldn't keep up at times. I found another sub that would work instead. Problem solved.
hey man, im wanting to build a pc for my little brother but we have a bit of a budget. im getting him a gtx 1060 and after that we dont have much money for a strong cpu. I havent picked out a motherboard yet because i was wondering should i just go with a cheap amd? or cheap intel? This computer is going to be used for gaming. Games like Battlefield 1 for instance. I would also like the capability of upgrading the computer in the future. If anyone has any recommendations please respond! :D thanks!
Ok i love this and went and brought one and the whole thing is perfect for what it is .. But Optical and Bluetooth will not work if pc is turned on have to turn the pc off for other things to actually work
Is there good stereo separation since you're sitting 2 feet away from this tinny soundbar. Also how does it perform with 5.1 sounds, is there some sort of 3D simulation.
There's always some sort of simulation for surround sound. Battlefield does it directly, and it's awful. Otherwise your computer should have that option.
the creative software has virtual 5.1/7.1, not sure how well it works. This does have the soundblaster processor from the G5/E5 USB/DACs built in, so should have all the same software functionality. I know ever is a bit up in arms of the price, but its really a 2-1 with the ext sound card for $150 and speakers/sub for another $150.
Hey! Love urs vids and been watching for a couple of years now! I was wondering if u would have any knowledge on why my PC isn't working? - Whenever I play steam games the signal is lost between the PC and TV ( same issue with other TV ) the PC isn't overheating either
Ive got an opportunity to buy an xbox one elite controller for a decent price, is it worth it to get it even though it is not one of the new bluetooth controllers?
Hey Frank- I watch your videos all the time. I think it's about time you start filming in 4K. I mean, you have a tech channel so you might as well. Just a suggestion. I'm trying to make the best of all these pixels I have! Great channel by the way, keep up the good work.
Who are you saying that to? To me? If so, instead of calling me an idiot, perhaps actually gain some knowledge on what you can get for 300 bucks, and find out that this bar is heavily overpriced for what sound quality it can deliver. And yes, even for 300 dollars you can buy decent (and decent in those terms means far superior then those Creative's) monitoring speakers with a build in DAC.
The year is 2050, we now have RGB water...
lol
lmao
And RGB sun
No RGB air? Dark future. Dark future indeed.
Already exists fool
When can we expect to see RGB RGB's?
rip my mind
The RGB Gaming Sock
my brain exploded
What next? RBG power supply cables?
No..
Yep!
Random Gaming Computer Unit Number Technology
I have seen the LED cable on Chinese website, so RGB should't be that far
RGB cable management ties
You know Razer is going to make one of these now. I'm guessing they would call it the Leviathan Chroma.
Doctor Syed probably
Doctor Syed I think they already have
Doctor Syed so true but because it's razed it will have an annoyingly loud clicking sound that goes through your mix when you talk.
Doctor Syed after razed does it then corsair will make a copy of the razed version.
Doctor Syed The key aspect of it is that it will be made of cheap black plastic 👌
RGB Speakers!!! Finally!
Jbl pulse 2 ?
Not really desktop speakers that's just an external speaker; On a side note it's a very nice one, I have a Flip3, a Clip 2, and a Pulse and JBL always has nice products
Logitech G560?
Wee need RGB toilet paper so you can mach it with your diarrhea and toilet seat
Come on, this comment deserves more likes than the video.
lmao
What about toilet bowl?
yes some nice green and red rgb to match my diarrhea
rgb toilet bowl
We've gotten to the point where we need RGB API's instead of a different brands of software for each device: keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, sound bar, and PC.

Wow the logo looks familiar, i wonder... HYPERX!!!

$300. Fair deal with the amount of tech, good Christmas gift.
You've convinced me to get one of these. Just need to save up for it now.
3 in the morning god damn savage I like it
Lights are over kill and the lack of a dac makes it worthless but it being usb means it works oob on any os but thats not enough to buy it
If its usb or optical, you don't need a dac....
it's up to the user if they want a dac not you and your opinion
always enjoy your videos Frank and this looks good :)
Uploaded 3 seconds ago! Hell Yeah
I just bought a set.
Cant wait to hear it
Love / hate.... I love it!! My next build will be ALLL RGB LIGHTING. Aurora ASUS Motherboard, NZXT RGB fans, ASUS aurora GPU, NZXT RGB AIO COOLER, NZXT HUE and one of them corsair tempered glass case.

You just got yourself a new subscriber!!
You deserve more subs. Nice content
thank you.... i love this soundbar
youve sold me on this! im including this is in my setup even though its going on a corner desk ill figure out how to put it on my desk with my two 20" monitors in the corner... i dont have any of it yet but i will be getting it once i get my first job
I just brought mine looks sick
Is the subwoofer good for like gangster music with loud bass?
I'm going to buy it, thanks for the review
Yes apart from the price.
I have the razer soundbar which is missing the RGB and also somewhat annoying control features.
Also Frank sorry to complain but bu'ons has 2 T's in it....
I think this is my favorite audio solution at the moment. Except it's not out yet and I don't have $300 to buy speakers
It has a good sound but im kinda disappointed when im using in games. Theres a bit latency between the games and audio and that affects me a lot
Seaneas RGB walls
Seaneas RGB walls

RGB RGB
Hi. Would you consider this product better than other sound bars ? Such as JBL, Razer, etc.
PS: I take it this is much better than the Razer Nommo thingie ?
Which one is better AKG K7XX or Hifiman HE350 (both Massdrop Ed.)?
would this be good for a living room setup?
Razer should release a soundbar V2 with RGB lighting soon.
Innovation = adding colorful lights
Definitely looking to replace my aging klipsch speakers with this.
I would love to buy it, but can't seem to find it in New Zealand :(
Hey random Frank. I think your desktop table, is super sleek. Where can I get one like that?
Hardware canucks said that you need an optical cable for dolby surround. So the 24bit audio is possible for the micro b connector as well or do you need the audio cable
can you hook it to TV and change the volume with the TV without using the tiny katana remote?
optical output need a review on this please, also you have another set of speakers hanging from the wall, do you have them all connected so they all play all at the same time? if so how?
this disgusts yet excites me at the same time
If you plug in headphones to the Katana, does the Katana act like a soundcard like the Sound Blaster Z?
Hey Frank!! So I just found out that Creative released a successor to the Sound Blaster KatanaX called Sound Blaster Katana V2. Just curious, any chance you'll be doing a review on that product? 😁
Is this better or worse than the Razer Leviathan 5.1 Channel Surround Sound Bar??????
Could I do something like that with a normal light strip? I want lights under my couch now.
thanks for entertaining and posting great vids. great UA-camr. you inspired me to start. road to 1 million subs😃
can we see an rgb aura, an rgb that goes around your body and your body would appear to be putting off the colors of the rainbow
An inexpensive Microlab system beats this bling bling on the ass!
where is audio sample ?
It's pointless to include that, you'd be hearing what my microphone recorded, then was compressed when edited, and compressed again through UA-cam, then played out of your headphones / speakers. It wouldnt sound anything like the actual soundbar's quality and wouldnt be a clear indicator at all lol.
Thanks I didn't know
randomfrankp can i use it on my monitor with my ps4?
+randomfrankp can I just use is with my phone via Bluetooth
right, so lets look a shutdown tv during the review cuz its pointless too. ;)
I'm sorry but this just doesn't seem practical for gaming in my opinion. What mic are you going to use? Lets say you got an external mic. Will there be eco? Of course probably the worst part and most predictable... the price, $300. You could buy amazing gaming headsets for that price.
FuzzyTacoGaming Maybe for single player games where you don't need a mic, but even then most people will still prefer a headset.
FuzzyTacoGaming Agreed. I think people would just use this mostly for aesthetics.
People like me can't wear headphones for longer than 30 minutes, because they make my ears hot and I don't like noise cancellation, and IMO the surround just doesn't compare to a 5.1 setup properly with sound treatments.
FuzzyTacoGaming Maybe if you're playing a story single player game
I asked Creative about that. They said it has the noise canceling like their Z series sound cards.
Nice RGB Frank!

AzimSobri Yeah!!!
Hey
RGB soundbar oh my
this is pretty sick
Thanks for the review. I also bought a Katana. I did find that the sub couldn't keep up at times. I found another sub that would work instead. Problem solved.
What is the other subwoofer you bought? May need to get one myself unless Creative fix that problem before I get mines this week.
I would really love to buy one!
Or just buy a normal soundbar and Individual Addressable led strip... that strip + controller you can get for like $19
Haters gonna hate. Great video Frank 👌🏽
When are they gonna make RGB screws?
GAMING. SOUNDBAR.
creative soundblaster katana v2 test when pls, just released few days ago.
hey man, im wanting to build a pc for my little brother but we have a bit of a budget. im getting him a gtx 1060 and after that we dont have much money for a strong cpu. Nice sound! I love it!
what bugs me is big youtubers using 1080p cameras, but ur 1080p sumhow looked 1440p-4k on 43in. 4k tv
so.... is it over priced tho? since there's so much equipments in this one set
Which one sounds better this one or the Razer laviathan
also woulda been nice to have a chance to hear what it sounds like. just as ppl like to hear the clicking of keys on mechanical keyboards.
why could you not link where you got the soft wear from ? the sound blaster connect
I have one question whats graphicscard is better Msi 1050ti or Msi Rx470? Thanks for your help ;)
CallMeBeny The RX 470 has better performance, but make sure your PSU supports it
CallMeBeny a i3 is way better
SpaceDog I have i5
Ok i love this and went and brought one and the whole thing is perfect for what it is .. But Optical and Bluetooth will not work if pc is turned on have to turn the pc off for other things to actually work
It should work well, just switch source

can i hear two audio sources simultaneously? from your computer with jack cable and from PS4 with optical cable?
thank you!
Sorry only 1 source can play @ any one time. That is how it was meant to work. 1 @ a time.

Hey! Love urs vids and been watching for a couple of years now! I was wondering if u would have any knowledge on why my PC isn't working? - Whenever I play steam games the signal is lost between the PC and TV ( same issue with other TV ) the PC isn't overheating either
I literally only clicked on this because of the soundblaster name, when I seen what it was I laughed. $300?!
So would this be considered as a 5.1 soundbar?
Now all we need is RGB Lit Peripheral cables.
It looks sick! :D
Any chance of a video on computer eye strain?
whats your desktop wallpaper when you show the creative software? thanks
is that a Menzingers shirt?
Aaaah, when can I get these in the Netherlands!?!?!?! My wallet is twitching......
Does it have sound reactive lighting mode?
For 300 dollars you can get a lot better, but I get that they sponsored you.
Darkangle ikr if someone wants good audio they should definetly not buy gaming speakers.
You're such an IDIOT... stop being so narrow minded.
alright i get you, but i want something to look cool to
Herman Smink there are plenty of good looking speakers that are not overpriced
Who are you saying that to? To me? If so, instead of calling me an idiot, perhaps actually gain some knowledge on what you can get for 300 bucks, and find out that this bar is heavily overpriced for what sound quality it can deliver. How is your beard reddish but your hair is a deep brown?
I wonder how long is the power adaptor cables?
I use a sound bar but with a wireless sub which is key.
would buy if I didn't have a audio setup already. Slightly too expensive also
What is the price
Great vid keep doing that
great review thx
that's genius. I'm more into the sound it makes. but it is too expensive for what you need. but thank you
