I can't guarantee that you can mix with a limiter on the master bus with the yamahas though.
Thank you, this is really cool and all. BUT while you have those speakers out anyway it would be really important for me that i could also get an impression of the level of static noise the speakers are emitting. I have read a bunch of reviews and on some more affordable speakers, people are very frustrated about the amount of hiss the speakers have, wich is much higher than what they would have liked to have. I had the HS8's once and found that to be their only real weakness. It's not crazy on them but when i upgraded to some older Gen's they also had some hiss, but it's noticeably less. And if i ever where to shop for other monitors i would want to make sure that they have even less hiss. I just dislike it that much!

Hi thank you 4 the great comparison! For electronic music would the KRK Rokit 8 G4 be better or the KRK Rokit 7 G4 could be good too? For the bass I mean.. Thank you heaps!!! And generally, which one do you recommend for quality and price?
Rockets by a hair. Heard both side by side at Guitar Center and preferred the Rockets (Before entering the store wanted to get the HS8). The Rockets changed my mind quickly. The sales person hooked up both from a cell phone music list. For Hip Hop the rockets are clearly better. The bass is tight and booming (imo no sub is required). For female vocals and classical music the HS8 is better but not significantly. My prefered genre is 80s and 90s music -- the Rockets sounded clearer with a larger soundstage. At the end of the day listen to them at your local Guitar Center. Plus the customization and cell phone app are a big benefit as well as the built in isolation pads are BIG benefits over the HS8.
In the real live , KRK R8 don't beat HS8 ,never! I have both speakers ,KRK are on the box only for to play in small parties 😁 Yamaha sounds much better!..i think only speakers in this size that sounds better than HS8 are Genelec, and cost 20 times more!
@@lelito33 I suffer a lot from ear fatigue, should I still buy yamahas? I can’t test them for 30 minutes at the store lol the rokits seem softer so would they work fine if I get used to them?
@kealand5448 yes I have Yamahas now and it took me 1 month of headaches to get used to them. I use them regularly now and don’t have the same issues, but I can’t use them at a loud volume (also because I have a small room) and for 2/3+ hours low volume without a break which is not bad tho. If you are sensitive like me (I HAVE to wear protection when I go to a karaoke or clubs) I wouldn’t recommend them as I would use them as a backup as soon as I make some money to buy some more neutral speakers… they are built in a way you notice things and that’s great but that’s artificial and harsh so in conclusion buy them only if you have money for a more smooth first pair.
@kealand5448 It really depends on your sensitivity, if you can’t stand being in a karaoke or a club without protection then I would not suggest these speakers to you. I would go to something less “artificial”, but if you keep the volume low and you take breaks you should be fine, I like a lot these speakers cause if you get used to them you can really hear the flat curve and mix well. It took me 1-2 months of headaches to get used to them tho. 😂
Both are very good and similarly perform , the only difference is the tweeter amplifier hiss in the krk is much more audible than the yamaha if your room has an ambient noise above 40 dB
I think the rokits give a more pleasant listening experience but are definitely not flat, the yamahas are far more neutral for mixing etc. while rokits may be misleading. That being said "Howling" sounds beautiful on the hs8s
The mics you're using now sound so much different than the built in ones in the Zoom H6.. so which one is more accurate? With the SE8's the recording is a lot more muffled.
yamaha ftw. krk no where near better. i've heard these speakers side by side an yamaha clearly takes the win. i would say adam audio T series and yamaha hs series are top budget brands hands down. BTW I've owned krk 8s and 5s and the 10 inch krk sub and i sold them all and got yamaha hs8, hs5 & hs8s sub. Night & day Difference.
in my area at least the hs7 and rp8 g4 are the exact same price. guess ima opt for the KRKs as they should be the direct upgrade without a price increase, right?
I Think the KRKs go deeper and are warmer at 200hz with a more 3 dimensional sound. The Yamahas have more pronounced upper mids and are more analytical while sounding a bit more closed in. Both I would use happily.

These HS8's appear to sound WAY better than the HS5's. Even the frequency graph shows them pretty close to the KRK's. I wonder if the woofer is made a bit differently than the lower models.
Larger woofers tend to produce less distortion than smaller ones, particularly at lower frequencies. The HS8’s do seem to sound a bit better than even the HS7.
interestingly enough, KRK's were many times closer to the source than HS8. HS8 sounds flatter than original source where KRK's held it more as original song.

Some of myy instruments on my mixdowns that's done on the T7V were off by as much as 6dbs and I couldn't even tell. Rokits aren't perfect but my mixdowns were only off by 1dbs in the hats because they did have a boost on the tweeters. I can't guaranteed Yamahas can perform as well as the KRKs in EDM but I suppose it is extremely versatile as well.
So which one is Your favorite and why? What do you like & don’t like for each speaker?
your opinion? please :)
@@aaronbuckrell6505 Thanks! I'm not a fan of bright sounding speakers. I also like the idea of front ported plus all the DSP settings available at the back.
the graphs are so identical that they are showing your room more than the speakers themselves... may be is time for some more acoustic treatment. thanks for the videos.
Correct. I'm not sure what his acoustic space looks like, but he def needs some bass trapping in the corners (thick, at least 8" or 4" with a 4" air gap) and some thick clouds between the monitors and listening position.
you can see how the tweeters are aligned different in "camera" (mics) and they are directional, thats why we have a super different sound in the video, im guessing the graphs are from the manufacturer (anecohic room etc)
Hm. I think you can identify that the graph is very identical. And thats amazing for this type of comoarison. In that room the speakers Sound quite similar. Oh wait, yes the frequency Response is nearly identical. So what Do you expect??
@@player234145 The graphs are always done in a kind of scale of resolution, different brands has different parameters and scales so even when they looks similar are not in reality
Hi thank you 4 the great comparison!
For electronic music would the KRK Rokit 8 G4 be better or the KRK Rokit 7 G4 could be good too? For the bass I mean.. Thank you heaps!!! And generally, which one do you recommend for quality and price?
I actually have 2 eris 5xt, and even if they are good, I'm looking for somethong better in 7 or 8 inches... this video is perfect for me !
Go with 8s. Most 6.5s are tuned to play as low as 5s so all youre getting is volume and no extra depth.
Just got mine last week.......playing 80s 90s house etc.....loving my krks ,havnt used the digital eq yet or the app....plenty of time now.
Hello,
Can you share of your conlusions about market check? U also looking for some.

*Rokits
I’m no expert, but the Yamaha’s have a tinny sound. The Rokit’s are much flatter. The low can get muddy, so it’s great that they have a built in eq.
I can’t test them for 30 minutes at the store lol
the rokits seem softer so would they work fine if I get used to them?
@@utilitydiskIk it’s mad late but it doesn’t really matter which one u go with. Over time you’ll get used to the speaker
Krk Rokit 8 G4 vs M-Audio BX8 d3 please!!
krk win
Both are very good and similarly perform , the only difference is the tweeter amplifier hiss in the krk is much more audible than the yamaha if your room has an ambient noise above 40 dB
The hiss is present but with both monitors placed 1 meter from my ears i cant hear it.
My favorite monitors are... the one's I'm most used to!
Krk wins cos it allows you work more on your mix...and boom in your domestic speakers it will be solid
krk has a deep bass and hs8 has a deep bass and more clear i guess
I think the rokits give a more pleasant listening experience but are definitely not flat, the yamahas are far more neutral for mixing etc. while rokits may be misleading. That being said "Howling" sounds beautiful on the hs8s
Nice work, there is virtually nothing between them. HS8 has a more prominent Hi Range, but it kind of sounds abnormal.
The mics you're using now sound so much different than the built in ones in the Zoom H6.. so which one is more accurate? With the SE8's the recording is a lot more muffled.
New mics are more linear and detailed. Old ones were brighter with elevated upper mids
Digital Stereophony Yeah, they were definitely brighter. Thanks for all your work.
The detail of the HS8 is very hard to beat, but the KRK's seem to have more flat low-mids.
JUST GOT RID OF MY HS7 BECAUSE OF THAT BOOSTED MID RANGE TOO, HS8 STILL WINS THIS FOR ME THOUGH
That detail is the ringing of the cheap aluminum tweeter. The krk kevlar tweeter is superior.
KRK bass response was better to me vs the Yamaha HS8
Yamaha souns in high and low end better
@@marchelawarab6727nope
Thank you, you helped me make a choice

Can i use monitors for just music listening?
Yamaha is very good but the krk is warmer and i like that.
KRK wins for more neutral tonality, HS8 is colored in upper mids
And my vote goes to Yamaha HS 8, thx for video.
yamaha ftw. krk no where near better. i've heard these speakers side by side an yamaha clearly takes the win. i would say adam audio T series and yamaha hs series are top budget brands hands down. BTW I've owned krk 8s and 5s and the 10 inch krk sub and i sold them all and got yamaha hs8, hs5 & hs8s sub. Night & day Difference.
Saw a lot of comparisons of HS8 and my only conclusion is Yamaha is not for hi-gain metal/rock music
Both have midrange overboost. Also Presonus. Genelec Neuman and Adam are more linear.
sorry but for my ears krk sounds is better that why ill buy them ty for video help me alot
i think imma go for the krk's
in my area at least the hs7 and rp8 g4 are the exact same price. guess ima opt for the KRKs as they should be the direct upgrade without a price increase, right?
I Think the KRKs go deeper and are warmer at 200hz with a more 3 dimensional sound. The Yamahas have more pronounced upper mids and are more analytical while sounding a bit more closed in. Both I would use happily.
Yamaha HS8
No..
Thank you for your very interesting videos. Could you test entry level 2.1 systems like the Edifier M1380 or Creative Pebble Plus to see if this kind of system is suitable for listening music or if they are too bad for that?

These HS8's appear to sound WAY better than the HS5's. Even the frequency graph shows them pretty close to the KRK's. I wonder if the woofer is made a bit differently than the lower models.
Larger woofers tend to produce less distortion than smaller ones, particularly at lower frequencies. The HS8’s do seem to sound a bit better than even the HS7.

interestingly enough, KRK's were many times closer to the source than HS8. HS8 sounds flatter than original source where KRK's held it more as original song.
Greetings! Thanks for your reviews! Can you compare the Presonus Eris E8 XT with the Pioneer S-DJ80X ?! I have a Pioneer S-DJ80X, but I am annoyed by background noise, hiss without an audio signal ... I'm thinking of changing it to Presonus Eris E8 XT. Do they have background noise, hiss when idle ..?! And the comparative sound is interesting, of course)
E8XT also have a lot of noise. Try HS8 instead, one of the quieter 8inch monitors in this regard
@@DSAUDIOreview Thanks for your feedback! I pinned my hopes on Presonus ... (I didn't consider Yamaha at all - I didn't like the appearance .. But now I'll take a liking, thanks to you! And another question about the same noises from iLoud mtm? Or will Yamaha be better in this regard?

i need help
i want to get one of these for my living room, it's big and i just want to enjoy the music and movies, im not producer but i like the good sound, fall in love of the studio's recording.
My living room has 8 x 12 metters, i have space for separate the HS8 of the wall, but my worry is the bass-low image stereo because the HS8 has the Low hole in the back, so in a big room without acoustic control, the KRK can be more directly and open because you hear them lows face to face?
The HS8 might sound good open in the image stereo? i like his clarity in mid-range but if the bass stereo imagen will be a problem i don't want them. Thanks for who take the time to read me.
I m wondering the same question. Have you bought one of them ?
@@3rb275 i finally bought the Eris E5 (not the xt) and it sounds great for individual listening, but when i put them at side of a TV, they loss imagen stereo, this happens with all monitor studio of 5" , i think is the same with 8" because this happen by his design.
Now i recomend to u to get and old minicomponent aiwa, jvc, phillips or sony, like Aiwa nsx-990 or similar, is the highest rms component of aiwa and can run tower sounds of 3 ways like Yamaha ns-55, this give u more sound stage, image at 3 mts of distance than a monitor studio cause they are building to close space.
And the aiwa's components are cheaperr in marketplace of facebook, because many people don't know their power, if the auxiliar works, u can plug a signal from pc, and if u lookiong the manuals their hace 0.5% to 0.05% of distorcion, that is nothing!
The speakers u can find with this are great construction.
In the end, with my eris E5 i equalized the bass to +4Db because the sound flat is'nt funny to listen. so if u want to enjoy the music and movies, don't need a flat sound, u need a 3 ways to get powerful bass but a clear mid-high range.
Explore the world of minicomponents from japam, they will not desapoint
Thanks for your answer !
