My tip for this is that scanning the question, then close your eyes and focus on the content, staring at the answers might distract you a bit if you're not an excellent reader.

I've not taken IELTS before, but I'm preparing myself may I need to take it. The listening test doesn't test the language's level at all. It's FAKE. It's something like trapping. If it tests my language correctly, the test should be run in normal conditions not in a stressful condition where the examinee pays a considerable amount of money for just taking a test, with very tight time, distractors, one-time playing audio, scientific expressions of a random subject or topic which are even the native speaker may don't know, expired by 2 years )) and it needs strategies to answer the questions. IELTS is not fair for testing my English language level, it is just a way to collect money.

Pro-tip: AVOID looking at the answers. Focus on the questions and understand them. The answers seem to serve as distractions if you read them before listening to the recording.
Once you understand the questions, listen to the recording and understand the answer in your own words. Carefully identify the distractors and let them finish their statements until they give definite answers. Once you understand it, go back to the answer choices and pick the right one.
I used to get my head overloaded with all of the answers when I first tried taking sample exams for listening. It really distracts you.
I also just wanted to say how helpful this video was for me. Struggling with listening sample tests, but this just made it easier for me. Finally got 4 out of 4 for this sample section, and I'm feeling more confident about listening sample tests.

I guess they are not ready when the conversation gets started. The best solution to my mind is if IELTS allows a little extra time. What do you think.

please help.. on the answer sheet can I write answers in all capitals?? i found the below on IDP IELTS page
    Listening
    • Each recording in the Listening test is heard once only.
    • You will be given time to read through the questions before
    you listen.
•As you listen, write your answers on the question paper.
At the end of the test, you will have 10 minutes to transfer
your answers to the answer sheet. It is essential that you
transfer your answers to the answer sheet as nothing you
write on the question paper will be marked.
    • You must write your answers in pencil.
•An example of a completed Listening answer sheet
is given on the next page.
    • ‘Completion’ question types (e.g. note completion):
    - Pay attention to the word limit. For example, if you are
asked to complete a sentence using NO MORE THAN
TWO WORDS, and the correct answer is ‘leather coat’,
the answer ‘coat made of leather’ would be incorrect.
    - Transfer only the missing word(s) to the answer sheet.
For example, if you have to complete the note ‘in the … ’,
and the correct answer is ‘morning’, the answer ‘in the morning’
    would be incorrect.
    - You will hear the word(s) you need to use in the recording.
You will not need to change the form of the word(s) you hear.
    - Pay attention to spelling and grammar: you will lose
    marks for mistakes.
    - You may write your answers in lower case or in capitals.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

what does Jamie say about using technology in this presentation?
SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE AMBITIOUS. This is the best choice because she was limited and overwhelmed by focusing too much on the graphic than conveying the message, leaving shorthanded on the meaning of the whole presentation. This is the reason why she said "I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE AMBITIOUS" (and not overly distracted by the graphic presentation)

Even when the script is provided for non English candidates they will be surely confused. This is really unfair. All the te techiques of ilets listening exam must be revised and restricted only in filling spaces rather than multiple choice questions or maps.

Hello, I have a question. So I understand that I have to read the question and understand it. Initially, the answers should be ignored. Suppose I understand the question well, hear the audio but while choosing the answer, if the audio goes on to the next question, what should I do? I am facing this problem when the options are too long. Kindly help me.
