For me, Light and Koji are basically equals and they shine in different parts. The best thing about Light is that he's charming, social and has knowledge of the world apart from academics and fighting. Basically what Takuya Yagami in COTE is good at but Light does it better except for fighting. I do agree with L winning against Koji due to L being able to almost beat Light when Light literally had a supernatural notebook to kill people. It would still be extreme diff of course. The thing about Koji is that he's not only extremely smart but also adept at fighting. In a straight up IQ battle I don't doubt that L would beat him extreme diff.
